I downloaded the new free trial Install version to a mac. Very cool. Can't find how to view the Library yet so I can update images. Any idea how to do that?

That feature is not currently available. Click on Help and then Provide Feedback if you would like that feature included in the new version.

I thought Adobe was working on this the whole time. Captivate has defaulted to an HTML5 editor. Every other company that offer a similar products already deploys their tools this way. The majority or web builders are web based. This is truly the end of the perpetual license. 😭

The number one authoring tool, Articulate, for example, still requires a download of their leading software, Storyline. Their solution, Rise, for responsive design, is a web app. Adobe is really listening to its users and doing its best to implement what users want. They truly listen, but rewriting the software they have built over 20 years for a modern design takes time.

@@CaptivateTeacher I like the download option because I don't rely on a lot of outside content. I've always been a Captivate guy, but I waited years for an update, and it never came. As a whole, I think you might get some pushback from users as to the amount Abobe listens. It's a hot topic these days.
What we'll end up with in the end is something close to the WordPress block editor. The writings have been on the wall for a while, and as I said, I'm surprised they let themselves fall this far behind. Don't tell anyone, but it was the underlying Flash engine that was holding them back.

Adobe Captivate 2019 (Classic) still has a great deal of flash technology under the hood and redeisgning the entire code based for a twenty five year old software doesn't happen overnight. There wer also some internal struggles that slowed down the development as well. I'm pretty happy with the response to feedback. Of course it's important to put that feedback in the right place. Tweeting about it doesn't help anyone but participating in the official Adobe feedback option (from the Help menu) tends to get things going. When asked what is holding me back from using Adobe Captivate 12 for all my projects, I told them about two features that were missing. The first was launched in the last update and the second is coming in a few weeks.

@@CaptivateTeacher I don't have any help-related issues with the program. Once Captivate enabled HTML5 I was free to make anything. Before I could use the newer version I would need every single feature from Captivate Classic transferred.
While the new version is online, that doesn't do me much good, as I still use video demos and simulations, especially in the age of A.I. training. The addition of the new CSS3 animations is great, along with the latest responsive design abilities, but these features are really for "no code" users.
At this point, most of the new Captivate is a cosmetic interface upgrade for me. Most of the newer features were "technically" available in Classic. As of now, Adobe hasn't added anything in the new version I can't do, so my perpetual license continues to annuitize.

I see the web version as an option when I'm sitting on the beach and a client reaches out with an "eLearning emergency" and all i have is an iPad. Perhaps I need to republish with a small change or whatever. Adobe Captivate Web will likely not be my main way of working on eLearning projects.
