I am so glad he pointed out that “if you ain’t gonna put your wife or your wife and at least one kid in it and take it to dinner then it ain’t a street car.” I get so sick of people calling something with a gutted interior, no a/c, not heat, no windshield wiper, open headers, that over heats if your not running at least 30mph and a loud ass fuel pump that keeps you from hearing anyone talk a “Street Car” THATS NOT A STREET CAR PEOPLE THATS A STREET LEGAL RACE CAR!
Finally got around to watching this. Great interview Alex and letting your guest just speak and tell his stories. You can really appreciate Joel’s sheer honesty, unapologetic character and rawness.
I can relate to Joe not wanting to get back into the car after that tie rod broke and almost killed him, a mechanical malfunction is always in the back of my mind when I get into one of my cars. Granted I don't have a wife or kids, it is a risk that every racer takes.
Him talking about getting screwed in multiple steps of the build is why it's critical to do your due diligence with a build. A cheap chassis ain't cheap when you have to cut it out and start over. Same with an engine.
