I visited France a couple of years ago and was told you can't find any bad food in France, I fully agreed, for my entire time there I found only wonderful tasting food!
you forgot my favorite but you got my sub non the less: Andouille is a large sausage made from the digestive tract of a single pig. In France, it's made by mixing onions and seasonings with the chopped or sliced strips of a pig's stomach and small intestines. Then, the mixture is put in a casing made from the pig's large intestine, poached, and allowed to cool.
Press duck ! You think it is staple food ? It the speciality of La Tour d Argent, not something the French eat regularly (actually 99% of the population has never heard of pressed duck !).
Always check the restaurant reviews before you go. Don't forget french food good reputation is coupled with the highest tourists number in the world, making it a tourists traps heaven. If possible, head for the Gault & Millau restaurants selection, this will avoid you bad surprises.
Except for a few places for which I had recommendations, I and my wife ate at out of the way cafes where i first walked by an listened to the people eating. If they were speaking French, i stayed, If they were not, I didn't. Worked out very well. Sometimes though we bought fruit and cheese and something to drink at the many stores and just sat on the banks of the Seine eating lunch and waiting to ride the river boat to another Pars neighborhood to continue our exploration of an incredible city.
Sanquette. Acquired taste for the main ingredient, blood, of course; and since I've tasted a similar local version in my part of the world, Sanquette may be added to the list of exotic, if not more conventionally popular, French cuisine!
In this video she talks about the ten best foods in France, as I have copied her list,I have made all of them, except the Macaroons, but the 1st one on her list is the French Baguette, or in America it's also known as FRENCH BREAD,and you can find this anywhere foods are offered, thanks for the list, as I will add it to my list, under FRENCH CUISINE. IF in the future I need to come up with ideas, I will refer back to this list,as nowadays many CHEF'S have come up with variations of the FRENCH CLASSICS ,into their menu,&daily specials.
I have an interest in French cooking and I wanna paiir French food with French wine. I wonder if there really is a French style roasted turkey for Christmas because I would like to learn how to prepare roasted turkey the French way.
If you were to find an authentic recipe it would be listed as "Rôti de dinde" but I'll be honest, I live in France and I've never seen this, so I think maybe it's not that much of a traditional dish here.
@@solangelauthier2381 You may be a Parisian and not know what you're talking about. Macarons are delicious desserts, that come with an infinity of variations. They are wonderful, especially when they are homemade. I know what I'm talking about. I'm from the Auvergne.
You forget about the bûche de Noël. Its one of the only cake that you Can est only every 1 years if you too late. Your not french and if you too early. Your not french 🤣
I'm in Paris right now and I have to say that the food has been awful. Such a let down. We traveled to Italy this summer and thought with all the hype that France had wonderful culinary experiences. I have made better Coq au van at home in NJ. Several restaurants in so far and can't finish a single meal it's so terrible

I had one of those buckwheat pancakes in Giverny. It was pretty gross, like a fried egg on a piece of cardboard. France is overrated and the people are rude.
You have to do in France as in other countries, only go to restaurants that locals frequent. France is so touristy that there are plenty of restaurants for tourists where no French people go because they are bad. Crêperies are typically low-end but expensive restaurants everywhere except in deep Brittany, in small villages. Giverny is a hyper-tourist site, there is no point in looking for a restaurant there...
Before giving international culinary recommendations first you'd better check the map of the country you refer to The one you show for France is totally wrong You're RIDICULOUS
I find Middle Eastern food to be the best in the world, Europeans don't even know what real food looks like, Europeans have the best dairy products, like Cheese, Hams and sausages, but that's it. I couldn't believe it when I was in Europe, when they brought us raw meat, we thought they didn't like us in their country and tried to insult us but later we learned that's was their best food, ha ha ha, unbelievable, that's what cave men eat, the stone age people, the best foods are from Iran, According to my experience. Indian food is so good too, the breads are the best too, I like Arabic breads, very good. The European food looks like cake not food, ha ha ha.
It's great to see a variety of French dishes
