The smart thing to have done during the final battle, have the Night King send like I don't know half his army to attack Winterfell while he and the rest continue towards Westeros, even if the alliance defeats the force sent against them the Night King will have vastly increased his numbers to well over what they had before. The finally battle should've been against the Night King, not watching Daneryes go crazy and then get shanked.

The entire series we were led to believe that all the petty political brinkmanship was going to pale in comparison to the “real” battle between the living and the dead-and then they were like, psych, this show will always be about petty political brinkmanship. It was such a shitstain move. The white walkers wound up being underwritten boogeymen with no narrative payoff. That’s not even clever or subversive, it’s just checked-out and lazy. Honestly, the white walkers should have marched all the way to King’s Landing and turned Cersei into the Night Queen. That would have been an interesting twist, a metaphor for power at any cost.
And honestly maybe this would be terrible but I would have preferred Jon slaying the night king and then being forced to become the new night king aka Arthas. I agree with everyone in this thread but even Jon being turned into the night king in order to control the white walkers as a kind of “he becomes king but is forced into exile like joining the nights watch” would have been better imo
In The Night King's Defense, in the show canon, he's literally a living WMD made to wipe out all human life, created by the original inhabitants of Westeros to destroy the humans invading their territory. Yes, he has intelligence, agency, and personality, but all of it is bound to his sole directive of human extinction. He is not a person, he is a weapon, an ancient engine of war awakened long after the war he was built for had ended, and all he knows is to fulfill the purpose he was made for.

I sorta agree. At least Joker's only problem is that he was doing it for petty/dumb reasons but has the know-how to achieve his goal. I mean, he managed to blow up one of two buildings in the end, at least. Others have their goal/reason but went about it in a dumb way, like Thanos, who could make more resources when he had all the stones instead of snapping half of all life away. And we don't even know if that life was limited to sentient life or not. The snap could have ended a species of plants or animals, thus reducing the available resources.
Also, as Kevin points out, getting rid of half the life forms in existence totals logistics systems universe-wide. At least the immediate aftermath of the Snap would be further death as destruction of infrastructure caused mass starvation.

Certainly, they wouldn't know about him, and so wouldn't release him, they probably wouldn't even have been in a position to help, as without Serena the long series of coincidences which ended with the recovery of the Starflight Express, and the task from Celestia to defeat the empire.

Problem was the Magic angle in the books only escalated as the books went on, MORE magic not less. The Writers fucked themselves in many ways, their dislike of magic might be one of the biggest problems of the adaptation.

And as a possible future video involving him, can we have him talk to Kefka somehow? Like, Kefka didn't do too much wrong in his evil plan (I mean, he practically succeeded) but he did just sit around on his throne and do basically nothing for the second half of the game, which lead to his defeat... when he could've used the Light of Judgement to literally BLAST the heroes out of the sky at ANY point!
Now, I'm not bashing Kefka - far from it, actually. I'm just saying that if you guys use this idea, it could be funny and cool. :)
I think Kefka wanted to lose. He wasn't happy. For Kefka, getting destroyed by the player characters was a release from the prison of his twisted mind.

Gods the lack of Lady Stoneheart was the first big red flag for me with the show.
Lady Stoneheart would have been confusing and unfulfilling on the show. She was better left out.

Lady Stoneheart is the other half of the dichotomy of the series. The reflection of the Great Other and his servant the Night King. Stoneheart being the agent of R'hllor.
You can't just throw out one the central themes the book is titled after and expect a good result.
