Cats Does Countdown is one of those shows where you can just pick any episode and it'll be funny every time. They don't age, they are always consistently good. Just watch any episode, from any series, and you're guaranteed a good time.

tokega Taskmaster stretches the meaning of panel shows, I'm not even sure it can be classified as a panel show. It's a bit like people from Essex and Humans.

it's a joke about how jimmy never paid his taxes/got done for tax avoidance, so he'd be top of the economics class
it's funny but Jimmy just paid an accountant to sort out his money. It was probably the accountants idea to take advantage of our shitty overzealous, completely irrelevent 11,000 page tax policy. You could scale down the whole tax policy to 20 bullet points. But civil servants are too lazy to actually do anything in their 9 to 5 job.

Which is almost the reverse of one of his old jokes that went like this.

The thing is, Jimmy actually writes most of these jokes

what do you mean? Is he scripting what the players will say? One of my favourite comedians, Stewart Lee, was pretty shit at panel shows. He was scolded by Lee Mack because of that. That would suggest that it actually favours quick wit rather than prepared jokes. Yes, every panel show might be different. (In this respect, it's fair to say Lee Mack is killing it at panel shows, but his stand up is tiresome. )
I think gharbi meant that Jimmy writes the jokes on his own cards: you know the ones he pulls when he introduces, and insults, the cast?

I dare say many comedy writers could write jokes that are so Jimmy Carr than noone would question if Jimmy really wrote them. They may still be his, though, I don't know.
