Our lives built on tin cans and string
But the cornerstone laid is a wondrous and beautiful thing
Sure in the ground
While the North wind is taking it's toll
You have helped me to find my way back and to anchor my soul
Safe in the sound
Oh you know me
Oh and I know you
And I know that
We can see this through
I'm brack and baring my bones
Said if we heard the howling
I'd run out to face it alone
To meet it half way
But I've still got badges to earn
So keep sifting my soul
Cause I think that I'm starting to learn
To love you that way
Oh you know me
Oh and I know you
And I know that
We can see this through
It's true that you could snap my neck
I trust you'll save my life instead
Cause our love is a loyalty sworn
If we hold to our hope
Then I know we can weather the storm
Whatever they say
Come what may
Oh you know me
Oh and I know you
And I know that
We can see this through
Their entire discography should be called an Anthology. As these four me are poets of the highest order.
the most underated band of all time....
Still the most underrated band of all time:)
The day Thrice calls it quits will be the day that real music dies. Truly a band that creates the music they want to play, and not some crap a producer or the band wagon wants to hear.
The first time I heard this song my heart told me it was a swan song. The fact that this was proved correct absolutely killed me, yet I feel now like there is more to come at the very least in terms of studio output. So thanks Thrice, for giving me a song that hit me so hard I thought about music completely differently, much like you did in 2003 when I first heard Illusion of Safety tearing me a new one.
This song is absolutely beautiful
I teared up a bit after they played this at House of Blues last night. I'm going to miss this band so much.
I'm not sure I've ever heard a better performance from Dustin. This is my favorite off of Major/Minor.
Been listening to these guys since they first came around, however, their final show in the foreseeable future will be my first Thrice show. Part of me is sad, but the other part is ready to celebrate what these guys have done for music and to me.
Now my favorite Thrice song, ever. It's too good, too uplifting.
Goose bumps every single time I watch this. Amazing.
@arefx
Be grateful they've given us 10+ years man. Let them enjoy time with their loved ones..
Thank you Eddie, Riley, Teppei, and Dustin.
Beautiful, meaningful words. Amazing. God bless them
For real, sometimes watching this perfomance i just cry a little haha. Dustin seem, i don't know, so true man.
Solid record, dudes. Thank you guys for the honest music.
@kelemeno I'm right there with you, bud. That was my favorite Thrice jam for a long time. Dustin definitely goes balls-out in that one, I feel like a lesser human would seizure from the sheer amount of awesomeness that man is able to generate when he's playing music.
Couldn't agree with you more. I miss albums like Illusion of Safety.
THRICE....... please come back
Your wish has been granted!!! Thank you for making this happen Gabriel8415.
@555KoRnKid555 I wanted to see them desperately. I'm from Liverpool so I was more than willing to venture to London to see them live. Unfortunately none of my friends like Thrice (I have no idea why). So that ruled me out, I'm sure it will be unfathomably awesome given it's their last show as well. Enjoy yourself at that show dude, I wish I could go.
Best rock song of 2011. Just sayin'
fing perfect song
This performance is so fucking awesome that I found myself sometimes wondering if there would be any playback but there isn´t THRICE IS JUST GREAT!
I almost cried.
@kelemeno Oh man those myspace transmissions were awesome.
@kelemeno yes it is, my favorite live recording of theirs.
3:40 is pure epicness
@brauliodm noticed this to ;) I love this album! So refreshing
oh fuck i just cried. damn it memories.
@nineninefour They not only recycled lyrics for this song, but riffs from older songs. It's kind of like their ode to the fans.
@conspiracy123456 i got the impression of a hiatus when i heard this before theyd announced it :(
@TheAblaisdell11 ehhh, I'll take the studio version over that any day. 'Red Sky' is the best song from the AOL sessions.
well it looks like he started his Movember mustache a bit early :P
@Halomasterjk im figuring this song out atm. ill could make a tab for it when im done :)
reminds me of a stereophonics song...
@DawgPoundBrutus True story
CAN I GET A FUCK YEAH??
@ZCamp929 Daedalus from the myspace transmissions is also mind-blowingly good
/watch?v=yhgbOUVJbNA
@DawgPoundBrutus
Actually thrice has allways been rated extremly good, i think you are confusing ratings with popularity
@Dav3c101 C&C Custom Drums
Does anyone know where i can find the tab for this song?
@DawgPoundBrutus Under-known, not underrated.
I noticed that too, slightly out of tune.
@Dav3c101 i will send you a private message with a link ;]
Teppei's guitar is freaking out of tune. Everything else about Thrice ever in every way, shape, and form is beyond exceptional.
Major/Minor not perfect only like it Anthology
I was disappointed the first time
