Pearl is right: nobody's better than anyone. I like Rupaul, but sometimes he just comes across as entitled and full of himself.
I'm happy that Tammie Brown and Pearl were both willing to remind Rupaul that they hadn't agreed to give up on their dignity when they signed up for the show.
motown I see your point, but I think they both come across as very patronising at times. As Pearl says, at the end of the day, everyone goes home and does the very same thing in their privacy of their toilets. I wish they'd be a little more open to what the contestants bring to the show and would themselves take a lesson or two.
But most of the time they act as if they've seen it all, done it all, have a lot to teach but close to nothing to learn.

Yes, I agree. RuPaul gave all of them a big plataform to showcase the talent that they already had on a bigger scale, but that doesn't mean they have to agree with everything she says or do and cope with her guru syndrome.
Marcos Araújo She’s nearly 60 and has lived twice as many lives as these girls. Most of these girls are just overly sensitive and get offended too easily. Common for my generation. Ru is the most successful Drag Queen of all time...she may have a Guru syndrome but she knows her shit and many of these girls can only dream of achieving even a fraction of the success. They all just need to quit the whining. Ru isn’t here to fix their mommy/daddy issues and convince them 24/7 they are worth it.
I agree with some points you said. I think what happens is that we forget that RPDR is a TV show and RuPaul sometimes pushes some of the girls boundaries for television sake, it was what happened with The Vixen on the reunion and, for what Pearl is describing, happened with Pearl, too. As I don't expect RuPaul to be perfect, I respect the queens human reaction to someone provoking them, intentionaly or not.

I'm glad Rupaul was smart enough to keep Pearl around despite their clash of personalities. There was no denying Pearl belonged in the top of that season. She was always my personal pick to win it, so I would have been crushed to see her go, and pissed if it was only because of some weird mind game shit.

@@Phenom0420 yeah but Rupaul needs to choice his words carefully. Being laid back and chill is ok, it doesn't mean that you have no personality. Rupaul can't tell Pearl that he has no personality and expect him to react well. Pearl didn't disrespect Rupaul, he just said "hey I have a personality and I like it the way it is!". Rupaul could have chosen different words, like "you seem very in your head, let us know who you are, don't be afraid". That would have been constructive and Pearl would have reacted positively. Respect lies also in the choice of words and Rupaul sometimes comes off in the wrong way

I'm willing to bet RuPaul knew exactly what he was doing. He stood there for 40 minutes to put Pearl on the edge and make her say something that they could use to spice up the show. I'm almost certain that Ru doesn't care about the people not because he's just an asshole, but he's so committed to the show that he'll do and say anything to get reactions and shots that will boost ratings. I guarantee you that's exactly what happened here ... and it payed off for the show.
Pearl had so much patience to not snap and just said "is there something on my face?" THAT WAS SUCH A POWER MOVE AND RU MADE HIMSELF LOOK BAD BY SAYING PEARL HAD NO PERSONALITY 😭

She never gave off that vibe, RuPaul was just literally concerned with Pearl. She always breaks it down to a queen when she cares about them and the fact it was so deep with Pearl is because she really wanted her to grow to her full potential, after all, Pearl is so precious and all Ru was trying to do was polish this beautiful gem. (all puns intended)

I relate to her so much. I didn't like her at first and I was always just like "whatever" about her, but I realized it was only because she reminded me so much of the aspects of myself that I didn't like and that's why I looked at her with a little bit of hate. Like all the stuff about coming off as lazy, boring, without a personality, stuck up or like I don't care, etc. And people always treat me that way and point it out and I'm sick and tired of it and I hate myself for it but at the same time I just resignate and am always like "you think this about me, fine, I'll give it to you" and I act the exact same way they tell me I am cause it's familiar and comfortable and it's like a defense mechanism. Or it's out of spite or I just don't even wanna waste my time on proving them wrong cause why even bother... Idk. But I'm learning to accept and give love to every single aspect of myself, even those I despise, and with that I am giving my love to Pearl cause she's a cool ass chick and I'm so glad she's representing people like me and showing everyone that we in fact can be stars as well.

You would reach more people on here by having more voiceovers, if not talking, though.. that realm loves being sold the next new, revolutionary eyeshadow but they need the verbal approval. You really could do the damn thing; the beauty world's getting boring, now's the time, gurl! There are more people getting older and missing the straight up tutorials and transformations, but I'd highly recommend trying some voiceovers to get comfortable with it and not feel like you gotta be talking the whole time. I'm talking to air, but ya know, I'm rooting for ya, Pearl, if you do see this! 🌹🌹

The drinking question made sense to me. Usually queens who host drink and it loosens them up so Ru probably wanted to prepare girls for performing sober. But the rest was BS.

I wonder if I can find out (maybe by an IG post) which lip color and brand Pearl is wearing. If I can see it correctly, it might be almost a mocha color that might work on my tan skin as well. Also, with seeing these few videos on her here or her own channel since finding them in December, I feel kind of sad hearing about some of her past life. I hope sometimes Ru just had a few bad days that he said things he really shouldn't have or that things came out the wrong way. Idk I still have a liking though he has had some flaws or shortcomings. I love Pearl still even if he kind of gets a little stoned on at least one story I saw her post, and of course was still shocked at how young she said she was with getting into drugs and leaving high school (and unsure if ever getting a GED later on). I just hope it is for a medical reason than just for fun. I am more accepting of cannabis for medical issues for knowing a few personally who hopefully all use for a major medical issue, like one I know who has a seizure disorder. Anyways, I have not tried to find all interviews on HQ or not of queens other than Pearl or Kennedy being honest especially when Kennedy was a bit heartbroken wishing she got to know Ru more as a person off camera. Still, I appreciate the honesty especially with those who are not trying to force anyone to be hateful towards Mama despite the few bad moments.
