Xenoblade 2’s ending made me cry a bit, but Xenoblade 3’s midway point and ending made me cry bad. I definitely feel like I connected with the characters in all three games, but I think the fact 3 was the culmination of 1 & 2 in multiple ways and the characters felt so genuine and real in 3 just hit me probably the hardest in any video game I played.
yea I know people wanted more of the past characters in 3 which I get but I feel like we got a decent amount PLUS a lot of homages PLUS, we got an incredible NEW plot entirely. I feel like if they did too much of giving 1 and 2 stuff in 3 people would feel like it would take away from the realness and intention of 3's primary plots, themes, and characters. Allowing it its own identity on top of it being a culmination of 1 and 2, and we get even MORE with the DLC. I didn't actually break from 2's ending until those last few notes of the song like I mentioned in the video. 3 I didn't break till the lyrics of A Step Away came on and then again in Where We Belong but not until they started chasing each other like I said. MAN I love these game so much lol
I love all of these but Future Awaits (unfortunately being missed out from the video's release) is my favourite lyrical song to me personally. To me, it represents the history of the whole Xenoblade series with how each verse adds in instruments from the games. Piano representing the first game, then strings with the sequel, and finally the flutes for the third. Other reasons being the fact that this song hit me hard for so long as Xenoblade means so much to me, hell I still get teary eyed with this song. But other than the fact that it goes back to its roots by bringing Joanne Hogg back to sing - the one who started this in the Xeno series all the way back in Xenogears and Xenosaga Episode I. Such a damn good song.
Yea we got that trailer for Future Redeemed's release not long after I made this LOL. But fortunately foe you I did a followup video just for it where I really talk at length and deeply dive into how well crafted and meaningful it really is to the players, characters, and games themselves. This could be recency bias, but my personal favourite right now is "Future Awaits" from XC3: Future Redeemed. That said "In the Forest" from XCX is another top-tier contender. Really the only ones I wouldn't listen to in my spare time are "Our Eternal Land", "Ever Come to an End", and "Your Voice".
Same here. I think part of the reason why I love Future Awaits so much is the execution of the song, when it's used. The execution of EVERY vocal track in the numbered trilogy is superb, but Future Awaits is unique in how it plays during that incredible tribute at the end of the DLC. I also think that lyrically it's one of the most relatable for me, so it feels like a song that can be enjoyed outside of the game in a way that many of the other vocal tracks don't achieve (at least for me). However, if we count vocal tracks for the entire Xeno metaseries, Small Two of Pieces would easily be #1
Drifting souls hits much harder when paired with it's cutscenes, especially chapter 7's it syncs so well with the end. Ofc Im a xc2 fanatic though so slight bias, but its one of the songs that fit so perfectly with the cutscenes
aye, everybody's got their connections and reasonings for liking moments and songs, Drifting Souls is for sure one that benefits a lot more from the scenes for sure though. Whereas some are great with them but can really stand independently. Drifting Souls can too but I feel like not as well as some
Very sad you didn't include No. Ex 01, it's my favorite Xenobalde X song, but otherwise very good tier list! Finally someone who appreciates Beyond the sky the way (pun unintended) it deserves.
Yea sadly with X, for some reason all of its tracks strangely have varying levels of severe copyright claimability and not sure why but thats why even now 1 of them in this video got muted. And some had to be cut altogether, but glad you still enjoyed and yes Beyond the Sky is a gem and I'll always love it

Tantal that's what it was, I always get the two's mixed up due to how different they are. But yea Where We Belong is just absolutely incredible, not surprised I came out of XC3 liking it significantly more than A Step Away
