  • Q: In the Seerah did men and women find it difficult to get married, or is this a phenomenon. What can those finding difficult to get married do according to the Seerah?
    The East London Mosque & London Muslim Centre was honoured to host renowned speaker Shaykh Dr Yasir Qadhi for an event on Sunday 5th February 2023 on the topic: Infinite Light - defining moments from the Seerah.
    This event highlighted various defining moments and events during the life of the Prophet ﷺ in which he showed how to navigate life’s challenges and difficulties.

    All my kids are teenagers and I have encouraged them to think about marriage and alhamdulillah they are taking it positively however other Muslims looked at me as backward… most moms I know discourage their children to marry early and encourage their kids to focus on studies & career 😢

      There's a balance where you can focus on studies and career but also focus on finding a good spouse! It shouldn't be one without the other

      May Allaah bless them with spouse, children and fulfillment in life.
      Dont let people discourage you from getting them married, keep trying , its better if the support is there and they get married.
      A "career" is not our purpose for life. So many think this is all life is about and waste years alone...
      May Allaah guide and protect us.aamiin.

    So beautiful to watch, my relationship of 5 years ended a month ago. The love of my life decided to leave me, Really love her so much, i can’t stop thinking about her. I’ve tried my very best to get her back in my life but to no avail, I’m frustrated because i literally can't envision my life with anyone else. I’ve done my best to get rid of the thoughts of her but I can’t, I don’t know why I’m saying this here, I really miss her and just can’t stop thinking about her..

      your feelings are understandable, It's always difficult to let go of someone you love, i was in a similar situation when my wife of 12 years left me, i couldn't just let her go. I did all I could to get her back, I had to seek the help of a spiritual adviser who helped me bring her back.

      Salam alikum. My dear brother in Islam, you are in a situation that is rough indeed. It is tempting to think of this time as a trial or a punishment from Allah, but it may not be. Try to think of it as an opportunity -an opportunity to become the best Muslim you can be. Pray, fast, give charity, sponsor an orphan, read the Qur'an, etc.. Do all of the things that Allah loves because the love and mercy of Allah are more valuable than this life and everything in it. This is a reminder for me as much as it is a reminder for you. May Allah comfort you and ease your pain.

I just wish he might use his platform to also address the cultural issues that are keeping our young people from getting married. MashaAllah Shaykh brings up many valid points here, except that one. May Allah SWT grant us ease.

    I don't see this changing in the next 10-20 years. Big expensive weddings. Huge mahr, in dept at the start of relationship. woman only starting to get serious about marriage at the age of 27-29, become picky, next thing they are 31-33 then feel they have missed the boat and 'settle for less' in their mind. 1-2 years into marriage they can't help but feel they made the wrong choice, effects their married life, ends in divorce. And repeat, this is happening in the west, and its getting worse.

    If this issue is serious then let me serious about it:
    What is different or special about this generation? I don’t agree with Dr. YQ because the availability of the resources (including haram and halal) is relative to every era. People never had listened to female voices before the invention of radio and had never watched females so easily before the invention of TV and so on but people were responsible back then current generation is not as responsible in terms of taking their religious responsibilities because trust me Islam will never going to change we have to change ourselves to accommodate within Islam. Stop blaming technology and take your responsibilities.

    • @Darknss2Light
      @Darknss2Light Год назад +1

      Each person is responsible for their own actions and sins. You may blame the parent for not instilling good islamic values. But parents can't control what their child does at school or at work or anywhere. We will end up saying 'nafsi, nafsi'
