For your information: This is Kevin Parker on vocals, and most likely on most of the other instruments, at least the studio recording anyway. Also this was most likely under pre-Tame band Dee Dee Dums, which was basically Kevin, Dom, and a few other guys, some of whom play in Pond/ other Perth bands.
Offspringdude999 Tame also started out live as a three person band Kevin on guitar, Dom on bass and Jay on drums. Dee Dee Dums had a different sound - this is not it.
From what I understand, he played some Les Paul copies at the time and he’s been playing with Fuzz Faces a lot with Vox amps. You could always check Equipboard, i think they got some stuff on there from the Dee Dee Dums days
Definitely. I noticed he doesn't use this range when singing on Innerspeaker or Lonerism but Half Full Glass of Wine from the self-titled sounds like this.
+ana barkley its definitely not Kevin. listen to the Dee Dee Dums "You Havent Been Telling The Truth" or "Lonely Words" from 2004. Kevin sounds like Kevin. the guy singing on Serpentine was someone else. remember, back then they were all mates (Dee Dee's, Mink Mussell Creek, Space Lime Peacock etc) from high school helping each other out on their demos.
Dude it totally sounds like early Tame and this totally sounds like Kevin's lower register voice. Go listen to Half Full Glass of Wine and then listen to this.
I really liked the balance he had between this vocal and the current one on the Tame Impala EP. He just sounds like a squeakier Lennon now sadly. All the plebs love it.
can anyone understand the chorus lyrics? to me it sounds like "Deep into the monster's eye dancing round your daddy's thin line to go fuck in the meadows we can go swimming in the serpentine"
Yeah man, Kevin Parker is extremely influenced by Zepp. This song structure is extremely similar to Dazed and Confused. A lot of the bridges in his earlier songs are very Zeppelin style
i prefer a million times more the voice of kevin now than back then, i'm thankful that tame impala find a way different than this, It's kind of strange to listen to this old sound oh they
He needs to make a whole album like this.
ikr
100%
love kevin's vocals now but damn this is good shit.
is kevin's voice or jay's voice?
Eu Kevin's voice
Luke Epstein sings on this (and plays guitar).
That fuzz is beyond perfect, sounds like Clapton!!!
Caleb Breazeale not even close bud
It is very cream, you idiot.

They still do

For your information it's Luke Epstein on vocals and guitar - the other half of the Dee Dee Dums circa 2006
@@coldacreare you taking about this recording ? You can clearly hear it’s Kevin’s voice
Pretty good but how far he has strayed from what he used to do is incredible
Also his influence back then was Rage Against The Machine, read on wilkipedia
Those riffs had a Black Sabbath’s Tommy Iommi influence for sure
i like it but i dont believe im listening to tame impala
heirkraft It's actually an early tame impala related band called dee dee drums.
it’s Kevin’s college band
@@TheMichaelRock Correct - though it's Dee Dee Dums not Drums :)
@@TheMichaelRock Dee Dee Dums
This is maximum Bad Ass psyche rock. gets better as it goes forward.
this song is so sick holy
A very good mixture!
Let's go frolic in the meadow!
no one makes psych rock the way Kevin Parker does
look up a song called "telepathic" by a band called rose hill drive. Thank me later.
true
listen to Dungen "Fredag"... the song Kevin ripped off
Reminds of the band "The Sword" their newer stuff that is.
Yes!! Definitely.
Dude yes forreal
Dream Dog Gaming What are some songs that sound like this one?
Micaela look up their song “Freya”. Totally has the same vibe, even the vocals are kinda similar
Thats what I thought
I can really see the Queens Of The Stone Age influences in this song.
this song is rad!
Only a true fan knows this
Facts
Dont be cringy

This is Wild Impala
Rocked the Swan Basement

Damn! What distortion/overdrive pedal is that. Some heavy duty or is it a combo of Amp and pedal?
From what I understand, he played some Les Paul copies at the time and he’s been playing with Fuzz Faces a lot with Vox amps. You could always check Equipboard, i think they got some stuff on there from the Dee Dee Dums days
@@timmcev Def gonna check it out. Another fav band of mine Soundgarden also had this sound in some of their tracks. I think their earlier albums.
Sounds like a big muff to me, although I've never seen Kevin use anything other than a fuzzface or blues driver for distortion.
Can someone explain why are there two versions of this song
Is this Kevin voice?
Definitely. I noticed he doesn't use this range when singing on Innerspeaker or Lonerism but Half Full Glass of Wine from the self-titled sounds like this.
No, the dude broke off from the band cause' he went on with his acting career...
+ana barkley its definitely not Kevin. listen to the Dee Dee Dums "You Havent Been Telling The Truth" or "Lonely Words" from 2004. Coldacre I don't know what else to say, it sounds like the same voice to me!
Swimmin' in the serpentine
Kevin was inspired by Queens Of The Stone Age when he started composing his own songs.
Stoner rock!! lml
I really liked the balance he had between this vocal and the current one on the Tame Impala EP. He just sounds like a squeakier Lennon now sadly.
All the plebs love it.
What’s your opinion nowadays? I’m genuinely inrerested
can anyone understand the chorus lyrics?
to me it sounds like
"Deep into the monster's eye
dancing round your daddy's thin line
to go fuck in the meadows
we can go swimming in the serpentine"
Tut *frolic in the meadows
This is black sabbath
drop c sharp? damn kevin
Fluminense Football Club
holy fuck
Esto me sonó a black Sabbath
am I the only one who thinks this is influenced by Led Zep?
nah man, me too. But, its like they put their own spin on it. its dope though not going to lie.
Yeah man, Kevin Parker is extremely influenced by Zepp. This song structure is extremely similar to Dazed and Confused. A lot of the bridges in his earlier songs are very Zeppelin style
A couple of the riffs are very similar.
Zeppelin, QOTSA and Sabbath all melded together. His earlier stuff is more in the vein of stoner/psych rock
Luis Magalhaes No lol
Not really... It's more like psychedelic hard rock.
Either way fuck yeah.
ইয়েস
Hey those aren't Kevin's vocals. Who is that?
they are kevins
It is Kevin before he discovered his falsetto voice. It’s pretty much the only one he uses in TI.
its Luke Epstein singing, the other half of The Dee Dee Dums
I go hard to this but I still refuse to believe this is tame impala
em pensar que tame já foi stoner, hahahah
Matheus Coelho quem canta nessa faixa vc sabe ?
@@carljohnson8717 kevin parker
Maluco chato ta em td comentario de rock psicodélico, bora fazer uma banda porra

odiei
For the love of god don't put this under the name Tame Impala.
it is tame impala though..
bbosch actually it’s the Dee Dee Dums.
Sounds like they were better without Kevin
Kevin was part of the group.
But kevin IS tame impala ????
Mattydigs That's Kevin singing 😂
Tame Impala = Kevin parker
This is literally 100% Kevin just like everything else released under Tame Impala
