  • We are approaching mid winter and An Cailleach is bringing lots of storms to encourage us to turn inwards, rest and recuperate. She is the Hag of Winter, bringing wind and rain, ice and snow and tells us to stay indoors and dream by the fire.
If you are interested in Irish Goddesses, you may want to know more about the Wise Woman Way training which follows the Celtic Wheel of the Year. An Cailleach is associated with the next festival - the Winter Solstice. You can find out more about this transpersonal course here - www.danusirish...
Whilst the Wise Woman Way training includes healing plants and making some medicines, the Introduction to Herbal Medicine Course is a more practical course. If you would like to become more self-sufficient and self-reliant, this course might be for you. Find out more here - www.danusirish...
My two little books - The Weed Handbooks Vol1 and Vol2 are available from the website, here - www.danusirish... and make lovely little Christmas presents or stocking fillers for the herb/plant enthusiast in your life.
Thanks to Lol for the music and video making. You can follow Lol on RUclipsr - / @lolhardiman5247 or take a look at his website - lolhardimanmus...
Here is an uplifting little film that makes so much sense. I hope you enjoy it.

New England is known for its unpredictable weather, especially during the winter months. I often hear both residents and visitors complain about storms. She is a favorite of mine…..I’ve always loved storms……I view Storms as a cleansing…a bit of a declutter a upheaval of what has been stuck and an incentive to mop up under things to bring in new movement and a swirl of new energy ….nothing like a good storm to purify the environment (as long as people stay safe that is) 😊

I always enjoy your videos Terri. I'm watching this one for a second time. I do love dogs. I appreciate learning about the history and folklore of my Irish and Scottish ancestry. 'Tis the the season to rest and recoup, to appreciate the efforts of the harvest, and to plan for next year's garden. We are in what I call, 'soup season.' Lots of veggies and harvested herbs go into the pot for nurturing simple meals. Hearty and filling, warm and healing. Thank you again Terri and Lol for your video series. They transport me to a more wholesome time from my history. Blessings from Canada.🍁🌲

I like to get out in those storms sometimes, to camp on the moors and fells around me; I like the peace - and lack of bugs - and just the sounds of nature about me. Huddled in a hot tent or by a fire under a tarp with nature all around me, when i get home the warm comfort is increased. BB

Wonderful, thank you Terry for your sharing of Caileach. I live in mountains where the cold of Winter is typically six months long. My home is in a vast, healthy Forrest of Pine, Cedar and Fir where Bears wonder daily and snowfall becomes very, very deep. The Bears only semi hibernate here, yet their ways along with the depths of snow have taught me much, especially as I get older, I am so in sync and strive for more patience as I'd prefer much shorter winters now..... I am grateful for hearing of Caileach and will recognize her with better appreciation.
Thank you and a lovely Sunday to you❄️

Hi Terri and Lol, and the doggies as well!!! Nice story about the old and wise one eye women!!! The one eye might be the pineal glad, our old inter-dimentional eye... Interesting she becomes more human-like as she is living and staying on Earth!!!! The landscape, particularly the rivers direct the energy on the ground, makes it fluid, magnetically fluid... My friends see a difference with me in winter, they say that like a bear I hibernate too!!! I simply sleep more and get outside less... and the healing fire..., yes the fire!!!! We should not feel afraid of death even of billions of humans death because life goes on and indeed we are immortal souls travelling on a human body to just experience humanity!!! Love, wisdom, temperance, courage and peace to all of you my Irish friends!!!!😃🙏🌹

Funny that this is also my favorite time of the year. I love Yule, I was born on the 25th of Dec. and have been working the craft in my own way since I was 16, now I am 68 this year, LOL.
Thank you for also the correct pronunciation of the Dear old Hag's name and that she is part of the evolving face of the Goddess. I am a blacksmith and a farmer of a small plot of land and do landscaping , so it is very interesting to see all the dots connecting after all these years. Yep She is fierce but it is a loving fierceness that brings in necessary change and brings the elements needed for the growth in the Spring. am very happy for this video this morning while I am sitting in a fierce winter deluge of rain that will go up the eastern coast of the USA as a nor'easter for sure.
My place is a bit wild like yours is and I understand all the effort it takes to deal with it all. You do a smashing job of it. Hug the critters for me, they add a lot of warmth to your videos.

I love the solstice as I find the fact that the earth stands still for a short time before moving back towards the light is fascinating given the size of its mass I allows me to feel connected to the whole.e

Wow ! Daffs already! Spring peeking out behind the curtain - only a few days to go before the Solstice! I like that way of positive thinking - storms being energy! Thanks Terri and your chickens are OK.

The daffs was actually footage from a couple of years ago as it seemed an appropriate illustration of what Terri was saying. We won't be expecting daffodils until late January or early February...

I was almost jealous there! LOL! But I have a friend in Sussex and she always has daffs in January! Little ones, I guess early flowering - always racing the snowdrops!

I learn so much about Ireland's culture and history from your channel. Hoping for a day visit to Dublin next year when we're in Anglesey, just a ferry ride away. One day I hope, the west coast! It looks amazing even at winter solstice.
