Seen Wayne toups when I was a kid in Breaux Bridge Louisiana at the crawfish festival that was my first introduction to zydeco. Followed him ever since! Now I'm 33 years old and just seen him at the kehma crawfish festival and the dude still got it! My favorite song was the back door! Love it keep it up Wayne!
Wayne Toups is the Real Deal .Go way back to Acadiiana where the Alligators & the cotton mouths are neighbors, it's the place where you can dance till the cows come home. Wayne is true to his heritage and tells you of his Love for his Cajun roots in his Music of you just listen you too will feel the Spirt of a Very Special place to those who know there no place like thirteen Parishes called Acadiana so listen up to a true Ambassador of Acadiana ,Bless you Wayne Toups.. James Harvey from Texas, ( a Louisiana native )
I have loved Wayne Toups since I was a little girl!! I used to listen to it on cassette tape!! And I still love him to this day and I'm 32 years old!! And now he is the best accordion player and Zydeco singer out there!! My fav is wooden box and the back door!!
I was gonna comment on his voice, but others have already done so. I think if you heard him today but never heard him before, I think he sounds better and his playing is spot on! I like him better now than I did when he was breaking into the mainstream charts. I would like to hear a modern acoustic version of Standing In The Rain.
His voice has aged perfectly. Like a fine bourbon, it gets better, year by year.
Dang I remember listening to him play as a kid some of the best times ever !
