So the way a lot of people start is by working on getting your radio license. Not too complicated to do. It is a multiple question test. You will start with the technician test then general is next. Google online ham practice exams. There are free ones online. Start taking the practice test and memorizing the answers. Once your testing in 90s then it would be time to take the test. There are local volunteer examiners that will give the test. Usually less than $20 bucks. Most of the times local ham clubs will do it as well.
