It's unfortunate just to turn out to be just as cold and evil as the machines that she despised😢😢 John did have a great deal of affection for riley... He didn't feel for her not the same way he felt for cameron.. Nevertheless riley was important to him. However it was not his fault not in any way... It was entirely on jesse's head
I love Thomas Dekker and his ability to cry, so one really believe he is crying for real. He is so talented, and this is one of my favoutite ttscc scenes.

Crying update: I just watched this episode. I totally get why John is crying. It made me cry! Out of context it's odd. Within context, it's sad as hell. Cameron is aware of the situation and knows the level of tragedy of what happened. She is not trained to comfort, that's what humans (and dogs) do. Poor John, what a life he did not choose. I'm naming my son John. And my daughter Cameron. And my dog, I need to think about it. I got all mooshy. I am pms'ing too! Emotions. Enter at your own risk.

John admitted that even if Cameron had killed Riley he still wouldn't have sent her away Jessie said that was a dam shame basicly implying that Riley's death was his fault, i think the impact of the situation being his fault is just hitting him fully.

I think that at this point, John should have decided to put his head on Cameron's legs instead on Sarah's. Why? Here's how I see it: 1. Cameron has been blindly accused by everyone, especially by Sarah for being a threat to Riley and potential one, who killed her and no one gave her a chance to be listened. I know it could be justified by her attempt to kill John after car explosion, but remember it wasn't her fault but Sarkissian's ambush and Skynet's encoded programming. 2. Cameron always protected John, even from herself ( she put explosives near her chip and gave a killswitch to John in innocently looking pocket-watch, giving her life in his hands) and started to learn her path of obtaining self-awareness by fighting glitches, which were in fact her emotions. She fought with her nature of being Terminator. She really wanted nothing but what is good for John, even if it accounts her existence, and John slowly started noticing that too. 3. John emphasised to Sarah, that he is not sorry to her, but to a Cameron behind her. He could have left the Riley's issue as it was, but he wanted to examine her corpse by his own, because he still had doubts about Cameron's fault. 4. Some people may ask "Then why she is not trying first to get closer to John and caress him and sits like a statue, when he looks at her, seeking for some attention?" Well, Cameron's still gathering information from her surroundings and John explains to her many human things like dreams, empathy and doing stupid things. She simply didn't have enough data collected to determine, what to do in this situation, I think she didn't even suspect that Riley could get killed by someone else than her if her emotions (glitches) took full control on her. Cameron also felt lost at that moment as John was and Sarah was still present on the couch, so she wouldn't allow John to be embraced by Terminator ( but I think that he could do that anyway ). I know the ambiguity of their relationship is the centre of the series, but I think that this moment of John's sobbing could be even more important for the whole TSCC with his head on Cameron's knee as it would symbolize her redemption in his eyes and slowly progressing elimination of certain trust issues between them.

She is supposed to be the most advanced infiltrator unit to blend into society, so having cold skin all the time would raise suspicions. Keep in mind that T-800, which is a lot older than TOK-715 (Cameron's model) was described by Kyle Reese as the model, that have already had almost everything that human could experience - bleeding, sweat, unpleasant smell etc.

In fact all the other creations of skynet showed emotion such as disobedience.. Skynet was so obsessed with eliminating the human race. He apparently overlooked the fact he was flawed himself.. His creations were out of control. They were not obeying hdaughters and they were developing emotions. Definitely not what skynet wanted😂 However, Cameron and John did love each other. Then never came out and admitted it 21 another but they certainly did.. If there had been a season three they would have finally admitted their love

I felt bad for John after Riley was murdered. He didn’t deserve to suffer like that and I wish that Riley didn’t die at the hands of crazy Jesse. I hated how Jesse treated her and Riley didn’t deserve to be killed.
Not true. She is like John Henry. She has "feelings" and ethics. She understands what has happened, and since John is her responsibility, she does not want him to be unhappy. And she knows that for this John Connor, she is not able to be a comfort.

I always look at this scene as John of the future will have to be a human terminator but for now he is able to express emotions.
