      Here's a bit of advice no one is likely to give you. You are slightly cross-eyed and it's distracting to the viewer. Assuming this video is not mirrored, your left eye is facing forward while your right eye tracks slightly inward. It might be a sign of a neurological disorder. It's also possible that it could be rectified with surgery or some other kind of treatment. Resolving this issue would greatly improve your appearance. You don't need 6% body fat. Cheers and good luck.

    My notes :
    1. Identify your one thing
    To achieve success, seek out your singular focus point, prioritize your critical goal, and eliminate distractions. Find something achievable and exciting to pursue, and be ruthless about eliminating anything that does not contribute to your goal.
    2. Eliminate everything outside the focal point
    Eliminate all irrelevant activities or people and focus only on the things that will help you achieve your goal. Filling your schedule with good work leaves no space for bad habits.
    3. Identify the best actions and multiply them
    Identify and focus on the relevant actions that will help achieve your goal, be precise in your actions, and eliminate everything that is not relevant, which can create space to do the right things and do them more often.
    4. Create a conducive environment and recommit to the plan
    Creating a conducive environment and recommitting to the plan when needed are essential to achieving your ultimate goal. Visualize your ideal day, and put a plan in place to schedule activities that take you towards the desired outcome.

    For any student who’s dorm/flat is not conducive with work, the library is your friend. Make sure you get there decently early especially in exam season and have like a booth or a spot you like to work at and get your brain used to associating that spot with deep work. Chuck your phone in your bag and get as much out of your time in the library as possible. I’ve found this to be most helpful when my flat was too noisy/small to work properly

    For someone obsessed with learning so many different skills as you are, it absolutely mind boggles me that you think traveling is a waste of time... traveling isn´t just about vacationing and so on, but about experiencing different cultures, different mindsets and lives, and see how others live, what makes them happy or successfull or whatever... though you make some very good points and I do get what you´re saying, it appears to me that you´re truly only focused on achieving superficial things society tells us to go after... maybe read some books or watch a few videos by millionaires (because it seems like this is what you´re striving to become) on what truly matters in life... I don´t mean to hate... your work ethic and focus is really admirable, and as I said, you do have many good points on success, etc. ... but I feel you´re missing out on what happens, when you´ve actually achieved everything you´ve ever dreamed of... what are you doing then? will you be happier than you are now at this very moment? I think it´s great to have goals and to be striving towards sth... but for me at least, I´ve been asking more and more the question of "to what end?" "will this really make me happy"? Just food for thought maybe... also you might want to check out books on emotional intelligence, minimalism, etc. if you´re interested in those topics... maybe your world view will adapt a bit after reading books like these :)

    Agree with everything except the travel part. I think travelling is a great way to get oneself out of their comfort zone briefly. It can help in reorienting the mind, meet new people, experience a new culture and learn more things along the way, which can then be incorporated back to their routine life. Travel is much more than just getting another stamp on passport, or a check-in on social media.

    I had a feeling this video was gonna be intensely inspiring, It definitely reflected back to me my own vision of my life, and all the positive routines I already do on the daily, which is like underlying code constantly upgrading my development without my conscious awareness of it. That Hypertrophy legs quip was hilarious (that dazed state is a weird one). Having a TDL(To Do List) is one of the biggest game changers, as it grows & morphs, optimizing it for what you want to accomplish, but also how you're feeling on a given day. You hit on some of the more nuanced focal points like how your working environment feels, what is the environment/people/art around you bringing out of you (eg. are you on Tiktok all day?/ Or do you take daily walks/runs?). Last you mentioned Coming back to center, or how you put it, re-committing to the execution of the plan upon return of awareness, this is a vital step, we live in a distracted fast-paced world, so stopping to realign with what is actually important makes a world of difference.

  • @boyantrifonov
    @boyantrifonov Год назад +74

    Traveling can be amazing if you are feeling stuck or your days are too repetitive because you optimized them so much.
    A weekend of travel can energize you and can be a catalyst for a lot of creative ideas.
    Again it is contextual.
    Does travel distract you from your goals or does it add to them. You decide.

    • @ChaseDotters
      @ChaseDotters Год назад

      Agree with this completely! I can understand if you're using travel to get away from problems but sometimes it can be a catalyst to get your mind out of the gutter, to ground you, to think things in a different mindset, etc. I've never had any travels I've regretted but ofc only because they were intentional and not excessive!

(Especially when you're focused on other goals).. friends, co workers (single ones) etc all want to travel somewhere every month just for the sake of it & try to make you feel bad at times for not doing the same!! Listening to this was a blessing & revalidated that I'm not too crazy! .. (it might be "contextual" advice, but it fits me more than others who are defending travel in the comments)

      To each their own! I totally get that the common person who travels a ton is accomplishing less in other areas of life and not mastering anything, and yes ultimately travel is a pleasure. It’s also easy to accomplish so it’s not like you’re climbing to any proverbial mountain top. It’s not building character like other difficult endeavors.
      BUT… However, traveling is so much FUN! Go to Croatia, eat a seafood platter in Dubrovnik castle at the stairs where Cersei had her walk of shame, take a sunset boat trip around the castle, hook up with an Eastern European at a seaside bar at night, then the next day take a train to another part of Europe, like Prague! Get swept away in the moment. Grow, explore, discover! In my opinion, unless I go to the moon or win an MMA world championship, traveling is peak experience in life. I don’t think there’s anything better.
      I get that doing too much of it will interfere with epic long term goals in life, so maybe do it sparingly. But I personally think travel goals are richer in every sense than gym goals, and I am a lifelong gym enthusiast.
      I wonder if this preference comes down to ingrained personality traits 🤔 or something else that defines us
      Miyamoto Musashi would agree with you guys 😅. Same with Bruce Lee, Kobe Bryant or any other master in life. Traveling is pleasure but some growth and going outside your comfort zone as well, especially if you do something like cycle across Africa or Iceland, etc

      Travel keeps me going I back pack in different country’s for acouple weeks every year and I love the sense of adventure and the unknown. I saw some one say it slows you down and I agree if you don’t have your ducks in a row for some it can be a crutch but some can really figure themselves out and grown while they travel. Also don’t confuse travel with a vacation. A vacation with a hope of doing nothing and just eating and drinking yes that can really set you back.

    • @carltonpenaloza1395
      @carltonpenaloza1395 Год назад +1

      @@swervinirvin4574 Well said. Yes, travel and adventure are nothing close to vacation. Vacation is staying a week at a resort in Cabo, travel is taking transportation from Mexico City to Oaxaca to Chiapas, discovering culture and having a sense of freedom that can’t be found anywhere else! And it does take a lot of effort.
      It almost felt judgy the way he said it 🤔

    The other important thing about having a focal point and being consistent with it is that timing becomes even less important. If you can stick it out and know what you're doing is the right thing, you don't have to worry about hitting the window of opportunity, because you'll already be there when it comes around.
    Focus and intensity = quality. And quality is always a greater factor than timing.

    A problem that I run into is that I have so many things that I want to achieve, that even when I try to focus on one, an opportunity opens for another goal that seems like would be a waste to try to seize it an move the needle on that other goal. Then I'm focused down on goal B and then some opportunity opens up on goal A (or C or D). So the overall feeling is that I'm pulled in an infinite number of directions.
    Logically, I get that the answer to this is to ignore those other opportunities until the focal point goal is achieved. Opportunities for goal B will most likely come again and I would be in the best position to take advantage of them when I am truly committed to goal B. It's just hard to keep that in mind in the moment, when passing on an opportunity to advance a goal feels like I'm being lazy/not committed.

    Great video man. My focalpoint is successfully taking over my father’s business. Been working in the business for 2,5 years, I’m taking over 2024. The compound effect works for everything in life. At a microlevel, it’s about identifying the most high leverage task for the day and get that done. I’ve noticed that I got about 4 hours a day of high energy and creativity, usually in the morning. Those 4 h need to be sniped in on the most important task. It’s good to have that target written down the day before you get to work.

    Traveling offers you new perspectives in life which you can then apply to your personal life, your growth and self development. But you really have to experience it to know. I love to travel and find that it makes me a better person, allowing me to reach my goals much faster.

    I've been watching this chanel for years and it used to be that out of ten videos, one might really land and hit for me. For the last few months though it's like every single video is so dead on. Loving the growth.

    Same opinion on travel. Most " solo travelers" I have met are always somewhat lost with no real direction in life and kind of lonely even though they meet a lot of people when traveling. Not saying you cant travel but don't travel blindly just because you saw some video on social media.

    recent subscriber here. I LOVED the bit about travel.
    I had a really rough 18 months, I separated from my long term girlfriend and and my mother passed away, I'm in my 30s and have no parents. People kept advising me to travel because I'm financially okay, fuck that, I get jacked, and traveling isn't going to help that. 🙏🏼💪🏼🔥

    2:30 You mentioned Focal Point in Interior Design and that it probably comes from architecture.
    That's pretty neat because actually, the word "focal" comes from from Latin focus which means "hearth, fireplace" which used to be the place to gather in households.
    Like you said: The Star of the Room.
    Just a fun piece of additional knowledge :) Great work, Nikhil

    Captain Sinbad's videos these days urge me to rethink how I am investing my time across the different domains of my life. This particular video made me come up with a pi - chart to divide my time across these 3 categories :
    1. daily action : things that will help me after a couple of weeks to a few years like writing proposals, professional development plans, etc
    2. maintenance : stuff like my job, fitness, taxes, shopping, networking, etc.
    3. long term growth : gaining deep knowledge of my domain through mainly reading
    Now, for the next 1 week, if I am able to divide my time proportionally into these 3 categories, I can say confidently that I'm closer to greatness.

    so much value in this video, you just put into words intuitions i started to have these past 2 weeks. thanks for that, ill def come back to it.
    may i suggest that you add some sort of skincare regimen into your focal point ? i noticed some dark spots on your skin that may be due to scarring. a good moisturizer could go a long way, but i would suggest a tretinoin prescription to amp up the results. Not only is it amazing to brighten the skin and give it a smooth texture, but it has great anti aging effect (it's actually quite shocking, i suggest Jennifer Myers video on that topic, pretty convincing). Youth being as important as it is in your industry, you might want to optimize on that side as well
    thanks again for your video. keep up the good work !

    Great timing for me. I've really been struggling to find consistency in bringing out weekly videos. I'm a dad and full time tennis coach, and even when I do have time, I'm shattered. I'm gonna make this work

    • @Manoj-ram-Somasundaram
      @Manoj-ram-Somasundaram Год назад

      You got this man! I can imagine that must take so much of your time.
      With consistency, see if you can start small and only work on the essentials of RUclips video creation for the day.
      You will have a hard time eliminating things of course because those 2 things are essential.
      But given that, you have to be even more essential than someone who doesn’t have the same circumstance.
      Cut more. Go deeper. And focus on 30min key tasks for RUclips everyday and I think you’ll get far. :)

      You can do it all Ryan, there’s a principle called “counterbalance” from Gary Kellers book “the one thing” and in order to gain extraordinary results in one area it requires temporary imbalance or counterbalance. That’s going to be the case at times with your roles as a tennis 🎾 coach as well as a dad
