No they do not have a private island, they lease part of the island, it is heavily guarded and no one there seemed to be happy to be working for the line. This stop in Haiti has been an issue for years. Be aware and advised that this is not a place you want to stop or get off the ship, they need to close it permanently. Problems from day one in the 80s

We just returned a week ago from Labadee and we had a great time. No issues at all. The cancellation happened right after we returned back.
I was there March 5th and everything was great...happy I was able to see the island it was my first time in Haiti.
