      Taking the GMAT shouldn't be an issue. For MBA admissions, you'd be considered an entrepreneur since you have your own company and you have 2 years of experience. Since you have concerns about the eligibility, reach out to some of your target programs and ask them directly if they'd encourage you to apply. That way there is no confusion.

    Hi Sameer,
    I am currently pursuing my master's in one of the USA university in Industrial Engg. I am planning to do my MBA from LBS or INSEAD after 2-3 years of experience . I already have 4 years of experience before my MS. How should I plan my journey to MBA program at LBS/INSEAD from now?

    • @MBACrystalBall
      @MBACrystalBall  4 года назад

      Your career graph would be a little unconventional, considering the substantial amount of experience you had before your MS. Which means you'd need to think about whether an MBA is really needed in just a couple of years more, how you'd justify the RoI from the recently completed MS and why are you looking for such a big jump in geography after investing so much in the US. Beyond that it's a matter of focusing on the usual suspects that we've covered in the videos on INSEAD and LBS.

    ( 2 years big4 workex and decent gmat)

    • @MBACrystalBall
      @MBACrystalBall  4 года назад

      We have to admit there's a lot of ambiguity in the question. So we'll answer what we think is the question. LBS is a stronger brand in the business world. So it trumps LSE. We'd also place the LBS MBA higher than any other masters degree LBS offers. LSE doesn't offer an MBA. Given where you are in your career, a regular full-time MBA would be a better fit. What's your GMAT score?

      A lot would depend on the overall strength of your profile vis-à-vis other applicants. For a school like LBS, the competition for seats is intense, so you can imagine how tough it can be to get in with a scholarship. If getting a scholarship is your primary goal, it would be better to include a few more schools in the list where you'd have better odds.

    Just 2 questions :
    1. Why do the best global institutes need candidates from a consulting or a finance background ?

      1. They don't need applicant from only consulting and finance backgrounds. They look for variety. Unfortunately, most people who already know the value of an MBA are working in these 2 fields. So you see a higher proportion.

      You'll find many MBA colleges across the world making it easier for students to get in, by dropping GMAT/GRE scores and not having a rigorous selection process. In general, the market value of such programs tends to be low. Which is why you won't find such names showing up on global MBA rankings. Remember that it's not just how much scholarship they give you that counts, but also what else you get in overall value.

    The video is pretty inspiring , but I have a question whether the job requiters in UK or European countries hire international students as I have heard and read companies in UK usually don't hire international students , so according to the video 93% people get jobs after graduation , is it worth going to UK considering current situation

    • @MBACrystalBall
      @MBACrystalBall  4 года назад +1

      It has and will always be challenging for international students to get jobs abroad. The work permit proposal can help in extending the stay after graduation, but getting a good job will continue to be highly competitive. What the statistics shared by bschools (such as 93% placement) doesn't reveal is the kind of jobs and regions where graduates have gone on to work. The averages may look good, but don't ignore the other inherent risks of studying in a foreign country. If you aren't ready to embrace those risks, better to take up something here itself.
