I can't stop watching this video, its that beautiful. I've been absolutely fascinated by F-16s since I was very young and this has to be one of the best cockpit vids I have seen in ages. Thank you for going the extra mile and making it public so enthusiasts like myself can enjoy such amazing footage.
Hello STI, thank you for sharing this video. I have seen it shortly after it came out and in 6 month cycles I keep coming back it. It's a really great video for us aviation enthusiasts who aren't able to this kind of things. Blue skies!
Thank you for this brilliant video. Even if you are not a professional video producer, you did a great job and I love the way you did it (to share something exceptional that so many would like to try once in their live). Nowadays, it is way too complicated to share our passion of flying with others. Thanks for having conducted and won this battle !
@john kristensen Haters gonna hate. But thinking about being a pilot and the process of working hard and being a pilot is amazing! HAVE SOME RESPECT PEOPLE. Everyone has their own taste of music, just mute the video and play your god damn song if you don't like Daybreak. John, keep it up! Love the vid and keep doing what you're doing!
Thank you John! - A great video. I didn't mind the music at all. :) The flying is superb, and the scenery of such a foreign and far away land, just amazing. The view from the F16, through the clear canopy is amazing. Thank you to the Danish Defense Force for allowing us mere mortal civilian pilots to fly along in such awesome fighters! - A grand job for the few that have definitely done the hard yards to earn it!
Half of the clicks is coming from me. I'm enyoing this for a while now. I only put in "f16 greenland" in the search bar and enjoy your craft. For every day of the last week I watched this artistry and I'm becoming addicted to it. Thanks so much for the effort!!! You are one hell of a pilot and the musics fits perfectly. Pure love for the art of flying, tnhanks again. I'm sitting here playing on my flightsim just trying to get close to this feeling. I love you!!
Thanks for sharing and I appreciate the effort you took doing the editing yourself. And I have to admit, I also love that song despite how over played it is getting :P
What a great video, I know you've worked very hard to get into your position, but I still say you're a very lucky guy ;) What I wouldn't give for a flight in an F-16, never mind to to do it as a day job. Congratulations. Please do upload more videos like this, all the best.
Man, that looks so cool. Almost as cool as flying the planes in Grand Theft Auto, except you don't have as much to look at. But, if I didn't have the game to play, I would definitely like to try this!
Love the head of the glacier, and the meltpond and the early warning station in the white for miles and miles. The geography is amazing. Not a bad pilot too I would guess, although I am not expert. But thanks. You have a great job. Some nice flying, some good camera work, well picked out what to show. Top work all around.
Remember to go to "settings" and choose "1080p" - it will make it even cooler on hd screens. More video from the mission will follow when we get a chance to edit it - "we are just pilots - so bear with us" :-)
chriskanemeier Believe me - the cockpit noise with GoPro in an airtight casing is even worse. Sugest you put your favorite music on your iphone, put on your Bose QuiteComfort 15, turn off the music on the computer and watch the video again - enjoy!!!
John Kristensen I was speaking from a flight enthusiast standpoint, I'd rather have heard the noise myself. Nothing against the song or anyone who enjoys it.
That is an awesome video! So the RDAF wears orange flight suits? Is this for in case they eject that they're visible when in icy terrains such as Greenland?
***** Kind of a weird comment you made about ISIL. Anyways, I think the F-16 has done a great job, and even though ISIL shot down an F-16, that doesn't say anything about the F-16 becoming a weak aircraft. The F-16 has made it through decades of combat. Shit happens.
Great footage, my Grandfather probably had his hands on this plane at General Dynamics at some point. For those whining about the music, there's a lot of it on RUclips so go watch a music video....this is an F16 video, I'd like it with Barbie Girl playing
Fantastic video!! Unreal landscapes, very different from other jetfighter cockpit footage. Have you ever flown other jets of that generation such as the F18, F15 or F14? If so, how do they compare to the F16?
Awesome video man, don't worry about the music because this one fits in perfectly, its one of the jet flight songs. I'll be waiting on more flight videos man ;)
That was awesome cool. best inflight video i ever seen (and i have seen alot) The video quality are outstanding. (will GoPro soon do recon flight cam i ask my self lol. and the music, just makes the video pefect. When i was younger i saw these guys takes off/on and perhaps had been my work today. to equip those F16 and refuel. i should had come in a half year later then i maybe had end of with that platoon there refuel the plains, had a good friend there.
John, thats sade to hear, i dont know what entertainmentt they have missed. and no matter where you are from in the world there is good chance you would like that clip :)
***** We (the F16s) needed escort for safety (in case of an ejection the CL604 are SAR trained and carry better equipment that they can airdrop to the man in the cold water) and they have both SATCOM and HF communication. The F16 does not have that at present - therefore the CL604 did radiorelay on the west coast up to Thule AFB. The F16s escort the CL604 in a close formation (diamond); that was a tribute to the people on Kangerlussuaq. Our tribute to them after they hosted our two-day temporary base there. In another scenario we can escort the CL604 in order to protect them - they have no weapons and limited electronic warfare equipment.
The scenery was absolutely beautiful and the video did a gorgeous job of displaying that natural beauty! One question though, I noticed that one of the pilots had a clipboard with a stack of paper on it, and I was wondering what those would usually be used for (i.e. maps, mission goals, etc.)? Thank you for sharing John!
Really nice, and superb edit :) Saw this video via an American site and was pleased to see a fellow Dane ! Keep it up and thanks for sharing and of cause for your service!
Thanks for sharing this vid. it's inspirational ! I love to fly low level too (as low as 10-15 feet @220 knots) and I know it's unforgiving if you in the canyons..
Wow. Dream job man. How do you not boiling hot in the cockpit with that much clothes? Does an F16 or any other fight hey have air conditioning or something like that?
in4ming :-) All jets have aircon but I was actually boiling on my way from Thule AFB to Kangerlussuaq. The aircon failed halfway and the temperature in the cockpit was almost 60 degrees celcius for the last 25 minuttes. If you look closely at the HQ video you can see sweat dripping from my face in the last couple of clips. I had two layers of artic termo underwear and a complete drysuit on top; VERY warm with an aircon that provided full heat before quitting.
Awesome video . Thanks for putting this up and making it available for Us all to see. For the Music whingers , there is an easy fix to this , in fact 2 of them , learn how to fix , instead of whinging .
Great Video! Thanks for sharing this with us, I really appreciate it! It gives us "normal people" the chance to enjoy something what we will never be able to do for real :-) Any chance for another video some time? I know it's difficult :/
For the few who felt the need to post aggressive and insulting comments. This is really "Low Level" behaviour. If you can't handle your frustrations, please KEEP AWAY but don't shoot at the pilot. Luckily the majority feels the same enthusiasm to share those amazing images and give the pilot all the respect he deserves.
people need to start understanding when filming thye need to point it AHEAD and not towards the back..i want to fly not back up lol! that is why this vid is so good :) much front seat action!
Awesome and thanks for sharing! I would have loved original sound but I can understand your reasons and respect them. Nevertheless, wouldn't it be possible to mix in some of the original sound together with the soundtrack?
While the completely UNobstructed canopy of the F-16 is (for some reason) unique to this airframe--and AWESOME in its forward visuals--it just now occurred to me: WHERE do you put the REARVIEW MIRRORS??? An air-to-air fighter GOTS ta have rearview, eh wot? Is there a rear-facing camera that projects an image on to the HUD... or goggles?? PATENT CLAIM!
I couldn't help notice that there were quite a few melt lakes and meltwater rivers on the glacier. :( How bad is the situation with Greenland's glaciers, really?
Tak for denne video. Den er helt fantastisk. Er det ikke helt farligt at flyve over inlandsisen? Det er nok svaert at se hvad der er jord, og hvad der er sky. Hilsen fra tyskland.

Best job in the world. I've loved this plane for 30 years.
Me too...
Joshua C I love it forever ♾.
You have a much nicer office window than I do. ☺
Unreal, I can never get enough of these type videos.

The BEST "in cockpit" view I have viewed ever!!! Feels like your flying the aircraft!!! Beautiful scenery!!!
Thank you so much
This is the video of all times to me. The best Viper shots out there! No matter how tough day I had, I play this, I'm back on track!
Hello STI, thank you for sharing this video. I have seen it shortly after it came out and in 6 month cycles I keep coming back it. It's a really great video for us aviation enthusiasts who aren't able to this kind of things. Blue skies!

Stunning video. Really like the camera angles during the formations. Great perspective!
Still on of the best videos out there.
man... this is just incredible! what a beautiful job!

Lord was I drunk when I wrote that cheesy shit two years ago
Thanks for sharing and I appreciate the effort you took doing the editing yourself.

Ah man, what an experience it must be to fly one of those. Fantastic video, thanks for the upload :)
Man, that looks so cool. Almost as cool as flying the planes in Grand Theft Auto, except you don't have as much to look at. But, if I didn't have the game to play, I would definitely like to try this!
The job looks so relaxing; It's just free sight seeing to me !
Beautiful views, beautiful flight, beautiful plane ...
Absolutely gorgeous! The landscape, the nature, awesome view. Almost had a feeling to be in a plane too :) Hope you will make some more ;)
Love the head of the glacier, and the meltpond and the early warning station in the white for miles and miles. The geography is amazing.
Not a bad pilot too I would guess, although I am not expert. But thanks. You have a great job. Some nice flying, some good camera work, well picked out what to show. Top work all around.
Great video. Folks at Northrop Grumman are proud to make the radar, navigation, and other avionics for the F-16!
Remember to go to "settings" and choose "1080p" - it will make it even cooler on hd screens. More video from the mission will follow when we get a chance to edit it - "we are just pilots - so bear with us" :-)
Great scenery!
The music kinda put me off, rather it have been cockpit noise ;)
video was awesome...music was great too. I know you guys are going fast but that music makes me want to see super fast flying haha :)
chriskanemeier Believe me - the cockpit noise with GoPro in an airtight casing is even worse. Sugest you put your favorite music on your iphone, put on your Bose QuiteComfort 15, turn off the music on the computer and watch the video again - enjoy!!!

chriskanemeier:-)
Amazing video John, thanks for sharing. I love the F16's. Can't wait to see and hear them live this Friday in Roskilde.
Amazing video, puts professionally produced Hollywood movie footage to shame!
Nothing lame or amateur about that at all John. Thanks for sharing
This is amazing! Well done combining the great scenery with action, and making it fit with the song. Love it
Cool video of someone doing the coolest job in the world!!!
Awesome footage. More of that huge icecap, and that old abandoned radar station!
Very cool video, and great choice of music. Never seen that kind of scenery from an jet fighter viewpoint before!
Thanks for sharing and for the insights in your description. Wonderful, awesome!
Awesome landscape! Thanks for the ride :)
Don’t know why but this video motivated me to join my country’s Air Force (🇮🇳). Amazing Video 🙌🏼 Wish me luck!
That is an awesome video! So the RDAF wears orange flight suits? Is this for in case they eject that they're visible when in icy terrains such as Greenland?
FSXtremeVideos Yes - correct - orange flight suits in case of an ejection!
John Kristensen Cool. I'm assuming it's you flying in the video, and I have to say, you sir, have the coolest job in the world. Great video
FSXtremeVideos Yes. I am the one flying in the video :-) Thanks!
***** Kind of a weird comment you made about ISIL.

***** Yeah, whatever that means
Saw you guys when you came through Thule! Thanks for the show!
Absolutely stunning footage! Thanks for sharing this ride!
So unfair, some guys have all the fun, too much fun.
Thanks for posting though, always a hoot to see a video like this.
Great footage, my Grandfather probably had his hands on this plane at General Dynamics at some point. For those whining about the music, there's a lot of it on RUclips so go watch a music video....this is an F16 video, I'd like it with Barbie Girl playing
Nice vid, good to see you enjoy your time up there. Greetings from Greece, thanks for sharing
Thanks for sharing this truly awesome video. It's very well done!
Fantastic video!! Unreal landscapes, very different from other jetfighter cockpit footage. Have you ever flown other jets of that generation such as the F18, F15 or F14? If so, how do they compare to the F16?
Awesome effort - thank you for the unique perspective!
Great in 1080 ! Amazing movie, thanks ! Happy landings guys ;)
Awesome video man, don't worry about the music because this one fits in perfectly, its one of the jet flight songs. I'll be waiting on more flight videos man ;)
Good to see my country from above !
Thank you for this mate. A BIG thank you from me!
Fly safe!
Amazing video. Thank you for sharing.
All the way from Brasil, this is freaking Awesome!
Best part: waving to the ship... :)
And about the music: One of the best choose... :)
Keep going RDAF!
Cheers from Hungary! :)

I filled out the GoPro Video of the Day - but aparently they did like it enough :-(
John, thats sade to hear, i dont know what entertainmentt they have missed. and no matter where you are from in the world there is good chance you would like that clip :)
Nice video and flying! Can I ask why planes need to be escorted though?

STI MIL-DK Aren't you nervous flying a single engine in the arctic. You guys could buy F-18s or F-15s.
Good shit man-escorting an airplane to the airport that's like a dream to me
I believe it's another RDAF airplane, used for transport, patrolling and surveillance: flymag.dk/721-squadron-danish-transport-squadron/
The scenery was absolutely beautiful and the video did a gorgeous job of displaying that natural beauty!
One question though, I noticed that one of the pilots had a clipboard with a stack of paper on it, and I was wondering what those would usually be used for (i.e. maps, mission goals, etc.)?
Thank you for sharing John!
alex li :-) Thanks a lot. The clipboards are used for that exact purpose; airfield layouts, low level flying maps etc. :-)
John Kristensen Thank you for answering! Keep up the good work! :D
John Kristensen Thanks for sharing your "view", Greenland is so incredibly fascinatingly beautiful :)
You have an amazing job, most of the time.
Really nice, and superb edit :)
Saw this video via an American site and was pleased to see a fellow Dane ! Keep it up and thanks for sharing and of cause for your service!
Awesome observation from this cockpit

You went through a lot of trouble to post this.
This is an amazing video! Thanks so much, man!
Er, Major, I mean.
Great Video! Thanks for sharing this with us, I really appreciate it! It gives us "normal people" the chance to enjoy something what we will never be able to do for real :-)
Any chance for another video some time? I know it's difficult :/
Bloody genius - and for all the right reasons!
I Salute the coolest F-16 Major ever!
Majestic, just what I needed!
Awsome one lucky guy to be flying them about would of loved to do that for a job keep safe and thanks for sharing the video
people need to start understanding when filming thye need to point it AHEAD and not towards the back..i want to fly not back up lol! that is why this vid is so good :) much front seat action!

Awesome!! I wish i could fly f-16's and those cool looking Jets iev studied them for 6 years im 15 now

I love your videos, I whish you were still publishing Viper stuff.
Please give me a ride in youre jet man !!!!!! what a amazing job you have and thanks
Awesome !!!!!!! Thank you for sharing JFK.
Just awesome! Anyone know if this is the F-16V?
No the Skrydstrup Fighter Wing uses older versions
F-16 MLU
Wow. Amazing. Thanks for sharing! :-)
OH LOOK - it's one of the few song's that is in EVERY aviation clip. What a surprise!
I couldn't help notice that there were quite a few melt lakes and meltwater rivers on the glacier. :( How bad is the situation with Greenland's glaciers, really?
Very nice video, and awesome job. Wich i can go back to my younger myself and can kick my ass for better school education...
Approximately how fast are you flying between 3:10-3:40?
tibor29 App. 450 knots. We decided not to go faster since that will cause even more noise :-)
Tak for denne video. Den er helt fantastisk. Er det ikke helt farligt at flyve over inlandsisen? Det er nok svaert at se hvad der er jord, og hvad der er sky. Hilsen fra tyskland.
Si there an uncut raw version with no music? I'd love to see that.
How many G-forces can the F-16's wings take until folding/breaking? (Or am I just asking a dumb question)
I don't think the plane will let u make a turn that would rip the wings lol and the planes nowadays can pull more g's than a pilot can take while staying concious I believe
***** It has happened in WWII I am sure.
SwaffyX Usually the F-16 goes up a little over 9G max
+SwaffyX No not a stupid one....
With a pilot it can takes 7 to 9 g
More than that; the pilot will pass out....
The F16 without a pilots, can take much much more than that....
That depends on the hight....
And the thickness of the air.....
In 20-25 km hight, who is around max for a oxygen using jet,
I think that a F16 can take around 100 g....
That depends on the resistens
Remember that the international spacestation is crusing with 25000 pr h
krgds
+SwaffyX In lower hight, 1-5 km I think that the F16 can take from 30 to 50 g
whitout breaking a wing....
Well I am not sure...Never been testet....
But I am Q sure.....!
Rgds from Denmark
What is the typical indicated airspeed for this kind of flying?
I timed the flyby of the BGSF runway and it appears to be well over 400 knots?
Amazing video, the best nature in the world ( as long as you are in a heated airplane ) and the F16 is still the best looking fighter if you ask me. The Challenger isn't that bad to :o)
I like the idea of the RDAF releasing as much footage as possible, thanks for this one :o)
Bubber ville have skreget som en tøs på den tur ;-))) ( I don't think google translate will make any sense of this one.... )
I'd give a year of my life to join in on such a ride on a clear day with visibility like that (in a two seater of course)
Is that standard procedure there to wear orange/red flightsuit over ocean/remote icy locations?
Wow, that was an amazing video!
Wow this is awesome! I wish I had this job.
Don't let the anyone tell you otherwise, I thought the video and music were awesome!
Excellent video and nice music

Excellent video. Thank you very much. More like this please. And your choice of music is fine. :-D
Simply AWESOME!
