Take it you'll have to have the TV further from the wall then the wall mount allows? I am this as I got mine yesterday and want to get some LEDs for it.

I've had one of these installed for about three months now on my Samsung 85" Q95T, with all my devices plugged into my AVR, the AVR plugged into the led box, and the box into the TV. It's been pretty awesome so far. Looking forward to the next iteration, with maybe more LED density, and possibly RGBW lights. But it's definitely been better than my Govee T2 was.
@@mikeygriffiths2868 yes, am playing MW3 on Series X with game mode enabled on the TV, and TV is reporting 3840 x 2160, FreeSync VRR with Input Signal Plus, HDR UHD I will note that now and then the FancyLed box lights don't stay on when switching between Xbox main menu and actual game, haven't figured out exactly why, but if you switch back and forward it does work. Only revert happens with the Xbox, so I'm assuming that's where the issue is.
@@mikeygriffiths2868 most of the time they work perfectly well first time with Xbox games whether game mode is on or off, just a little iffy now and then, where you have to switch back and forward once or twice, and I'm fairly certain the issue is not actually the FancyLed box

I do have it and can tell it's not accurate! There's no orange color and it's displayed as green. Go to scenes mode, choose orange solid and tell me what you see.

Great review. How does it know where the corners of the TV are so that it matches what's on the screen? Like a 60 inch tv would have different length to a corner than a 80 inch tv.
Great idea and product but there 2 question i want to ask . You know rgb leds have just 4 lines in it. Normally all red leds are connected to same line and it is same for green and blue. When i looked at the review the reds, greens and blues all around differs in term of luminosty. How this could happen? And secondly in manual there is no deffinition that need to be started from right bottom or left bottom. How the device control where is left where is right where is top and where is bottom?
Any chance you tried using a HDMI splitter to see if you can get this to work on both an AppleTV and a video game console since it only has one HDMI port?
Update: I tried it and it works fine. Only thing is whenever I turn on my TV, it turns on my Ps5 and I have to turn it off, use the hdmi splitter remote to change to my Apple TV input and press the Apple TV to trigger it

I finally got one of these in a week ago. Boy was this thing a pain in the ASS to get working on a PC with an AV Receiver. I literally was giving up last night, and it finally just decided to start working. Albiet it's still finicky, but I think I've got it to where I can stand it. I bought a new Active HDMI cable thinking that was a problem with my 30ft HDMI 8k cable. Nope, ended up reverting back to my original setup before adding the Sync Box and everything just decided to work together all of a sudden...even though that was EXACTLY how I had everything plugged up in the first place! Ughhhh...what a nightmare, but at least it works well enough (I think) where I can deal with the finnickiness of it.
The thing about these lights is that they may be preferable to a larger tv because you still maintain maximum focal area but extend the experience outwards into your peripheral vision and get some form of bias lighting. And you can always turn it off and focus on the screen if you want to.
Govee allows it only with the camera if you want the 120hz. If you have a Samsung tv from 2022 en newer you can actually turn it into a genuine Ambilight tv, as Philips provided an app exclusively for Samsung where you can use Philips light strip and Hue, so it would sync everything on screen, and everything Hue connected, even the ceiling lamp for complete immersion

It’s a collaboration between philips and Samsung. the app is expensive, but MUCH cheaper then the sync box, and better too. one huge disadvantage of a sync box is that it will only show the light effects of anything connected to the box, meaning your TV and all the apps like RUclips won’t work.
Just 2.1 hdmi version has 1 port so you can connect just 1 device overall. There is 3 port version but just 2.0 it is great device but govee is hdmi independent and depends what you need .

I’ve had these lights for about 2 weeks now. Works great for gaming but for whatever reason when i watch movies on streaming apps the screen will just cut out randomly . I have it running through my xbox series x. It only does it when i have the lights on. Any fix for it?
I need help. I install it on my TV but my corner left side of my LEDs are flickering where everything else is smooth. Should I return it or is this something I can fix? I did find 1 area where you cut wirh a sissor thar when I put my finger on it, it's shuts off the area where it's flickering
@BTheInstaller Hi brother, yes I did cut it in the correct area. I reached out to customer service and they said it was a defective unit with the video i sent. Fancy LED has great customer service btw. They are sending me a replacement.
Hey I’m thinking about getting this. But I’m running everything through my Onkyo RZ50 how would this do with sound pass through? Do you think I’ll have lag or have sync issues since it’s only Arc and not eArc ?
Tried a similar system with govee. Could not get it to stick with a 83 inch Sony A90J because of the bottom backside. It's all grills and won't stick. Any tips?
Not really. You would have to have the box inside a recessed box like in my other video and the lights around the edge. Probably not worth it for a frame tv. Better if there is some gap for the glow it creates
Yall be careful at checkout. If you don’t purchase their “parcel cover insurance” youll be fully at risk of losing 289$, In the event the USPS loses your package. Might be a great product but customer service is terrible. How disappointing for this to be a known issue you have to give customers the option of a “parcel cover safe” insurance option
The largest kit they sell is 70-90". It could still work, but depending on how you place it, you may have gaps. Like you would literally need to map it out before you placed it.
I used to think this was a cool idea, but then I experienced HDR, and it completely changed my mind about it. I prefer just using an HDR screen in a dark room without extra LEDs.
Hey Brandon I’m having a tough time getting the brackets to stick long term. They start sagging and falling after a few weeks and I’ve tried the hardest sticking tapes by 3m to no avail. My tv has a plastic back unlike the g3 aluminum finish which probably makes it stick a lot better. Any suggestions?
That's ok for gamers, but for watching movies I don't think so. Mi movie theater doesn't have LEDs around the screen. Nor does any movie house I have been to!

To be honest the colours look so weird and all over the place, its not accurate at all i think. I have the Hue sync box which by the way works with 2.1 hdmi via software update, and it can do 120fps, vrr, 4k and all of that, you only have to turn off allm, but leave vrr on, but it doesn't matter because the vrr when active gives you some allm support as it says in in it's ps5 settings. So it's much better than anything else, still if you want a cheaper rgb thats not near 100% accurate its probably a good option, hue is really expensive, I'll admit. But for me it's worth it.
@@markyh73 it's fine when its set to a 6500k solid white to enhance perceived contrast and help avoid eye fatigue in a dark room, but when its set to change with what's being shown on the screen its definitely distracting.
Phillips Hue sucks honestly. Having to pay that much and having less coverage because their lights aren't designed to cover the bottom. Then you have to spend even more if you want the bottom to be lit up, fancy leds are a MUCH better option 😆
Actually you're not making it worse, by placing a light behind the television, you are raising the average ambient light in the room and reducing the strain on your eyes, meaning you can watch television or work for longer without all the negative side effects. My fancy led sync box should be here next week, can't wait!

is there an actual difference between 2.0 and 2.1? can i just get the 2.0 version and use two 2.1 hdmi cables and save money?

Wish the 120htz box had three hdmi inputs that way you could connect a 4k bluray player and media streaming box or 2nd console.

Problem I have with these is that they can only be used for one gaming system. Am I wrong?
They can be used for more, just need to add a HDMI switch or splitter, then run earc straight to the AVR or sound bar from the TV.

Tv Brands are aware of this and their coming up with inbuilt version, way more powerful and no need of accessories or apps. Its only a matter of time.

Actually you're not making it worse, by placing a light behind the television, you are raising the average ambient light in the room and reducing the strain on your eyes, meaning you can watch television or work for longer without all the negative side effects. GROSS! I'll tell you what looks better, THE TV, not all the distracting, ambient BLOOMING behind it. Why do people think it's so cool to have all the led light behind their tv? It's just another form of blooming and stupid. I want to watch my tv, not the wall around it!
