I have to disagree with yr approach here; Be easy on Veah, it's clear she struggles with her self esteem & is a very scared & sheltered person as a result of her past. It would be too easy when we have traumatic pasts to go the wall like cough, cough, Rayne for example & become very embittered cruel & angry ppl. The other response is that you become real timid, scared, & anxious. Both are fight or flight techniques.Veah is doing the latter. Her body language in this scene says it all. She has some severe mental health/depression issues, it's clear her ex probably was a person that made her feel safe & accepted & that's why they are still close & dependent on each other. Transitioning out of the dynamic isn't easy. They have history, he cares for her, is protective of her & could probably do a better job with starting to pull away, create boundaries, encourage her to move on. Sonny isn't wrong, but Rory's intentions aren't nefarious, they do seem to be over the relationship hump, just not over the dependency hump entirely. But Sonny isn't wrong about his concerns, but could calm down & if he finds patience, things could settle and he'll have Veah all to himself. But I think we the viewers should reserve our criticisms & judgements because this is a perfect example of how society should & could be a little kinder to dealing with this topic & be sensitive to those suffering from mental health issues. This isn't a pass in accountability, but I think trolling her or judging her or making funny of her feels unkind. It's warranted, I'm just saying be kind in sensitive in our approach and not treat these situations as regular fodder for us to tear apart in unkind ways online.
It would be easy to judge her because of her behavior and don't forget, editing knows what they are doing to push the drama without enough content. We end up hearing more of the story at the stupid tell alls. That's why they are called Tell All, because they intentionally give half ass storylines that are skewed to one side or another to keep people vested in this chaos. These people literally spend a few weeks together and production turns it into months of filming. If we strip away all the drama production is pushing & the fact that two guys appear to be fighting over her, I'm telling you that girl is scared of being alone with Sunny. Ok. Here’s what I think from a traumatized persons view. I kinda understand her thought pattern. She does need a solid therapist. But, Rori looks and acts like x military or active military. Which she knows there is a protective instinct as well as training to back up any nonsense. I think probably retired military bc they have perimeters they have to stay with in. He absolutely handled it poorly. How people expect to get positive results when they behave the way he did is and will always be beyond me. It is highly unintelligent. He also has even less of a leg to stand on since he forgave her and took her back.

It is clear to me by her almost expressionless reaponses that she has major issues expressing herself because she is scared of the outcome.

I have to disagree with yr approach here; Be easy on Veah, it's clear she struggles with her self esteem & is a very scared & sheltered person as a result of her past. It would be too easy when we have traumatic pasts to go the wall like cough, cough, Rayne for example & become very embittered cruel & angry ppl. The other response is that you become real timid, scared, & anxious. Both are fight or flight techniques.Veah is doing the latter.
Her body language in this scene says it all. She has some severe mental health/depression issues, it's clear her ex probably was a person that made her feel safe & accepted & that's why they are still close & dependent on each other. Transitioning out of the dynamic isn't easy. They have history, he cares for her, is protective of her & could probably do a better job with starting to pull away, create boundaries, encourage her to move on. Sonny isn't wrong, but Rory's intentions aren't nefarious, they do seem to be over the relationship hump, just not over the dependency hump entirely. But Sonny isn't wrong about his concerns, but could calm down & if he finds patience, things could settle and he'll have Veah all to himself.
But I think we the viewers should reserve our criticisms & judgements because this is a perfect example of how society should & could be a little kinder to dealing with this topic & be sensitive to those suffering from mental health issues. This isn't a pass in accountability, but I think trolling her or judging her or making funny of her feels unkind. It's warranted, I'm just saying be kind in sensitive in our approach and not treat these situations as regular fodder for us to tear apart in unkind ways online.
That girl messed up by telling Sunny that she wanted Rory to stay,so now she's lost Sunny,for good, so that's her major loss,how stupid of her !
It would be easy to judge her because of her behavior and don't forget, editing knows what they are doing to push the drama without enough content. We end up hearing more of the story at the stupid tell alls. That's why they are called Tell All, because they intentionally give half ass storylines that are skewed to one side or another to keep people vested in this chaos. These people literally spend a few weeks together and production turns it into months of filming.
If we strip away all the drama production is pushing & the fact that two guys appear to be fighting over her, I'm telling you that girl is scared of being alone with Sunny. No matter how nice Sunny comes across, he has underlying anger. Not just about her, he doesn't temper well and she appears to be afraid of him. There would be no reason for her to feel that way Unless she's already experienced something with him and I'm willing to be she has.
I think now that she has compared them both in “all ways😜”, she seems to have chosen Rory.
She and Rory are still connected. Rory is too protective over her for an ex. And, she can’t let go because he makes her feel safe. It’s not over with them.

He lies to her about her religious obligations to become Muslim if married, just saying”let’s have fun and not think about that”. Veah has anxiety about lots of things, including being alone, so she might want Corey to stay in case Sunny has another tantrum so she won’t be alone. It’s not saying he’s violent. I mean they are both a mess and it’s obvious that this relationship is a deadly missile in flight, but I don’t see why you are focusing on her when Sunny has so many red flags himself

Ok. Here’s what I think from a traumatized persons view. I kinda understand her thought pattern. She does need a solid therapist. But, Rori looks and acts like x military or active military. Which she knows there is a protective instinct as well as training to back up any nonsense. I think probably retired military bc they have perimeters they have to stay with in. So he is her gun, lethal weapon, protection. Something from her life has been triggered to the extent that she felt it necessary to bring a loaded weapon into a situation. This could be a combination of things. I have dated men for the protection they provided me, which I found out wasn’t the right thing to build a relationship on. But, when you have been deeply traumatized over and over in early years (which she still is in) you don’t make standard decisions. Sunny is over here picking a fight with a spicy GI Joe. I would be upset too, but that man has already leveled him to the ground 15 ways before he opened his mouth. Not condoning any of it, just spectating. Sunny doesn’t truly understand her fear. Fear disguised as love is driving her decisions.

I have to disagree with you. There is a lot that the public doesn't know about Veah, and I don't believe Sunny knows, if he does and still is this volatile, controlling little shit. If you look up Veah Netherton and human trafficking, she was a victim of s*x trafficking when she was 17. So yes she feels safe with Rory. To be honest, Rory is being a very good friend and knows Veah needs that support. Veah will need Rory to fly home with her. But it is Veah who needs to tell Sunny about her past, not Rory. So I have to say MM, your analysis in this instance is incorrect.
Veah comes off traumatized from her past. She needs therapy and counseling to move on from past trauma. She is literally using Rory as a cruch to navigate through difficult or uncomfortable situations. With ppl like this sunny, it would have to lower his guard and be more open, honest, trusting, and demonstrate patience. However, Sunny has not done any of this. Plus, they really dont know each other in real life, which is why she is moving the way she is. As madzie said, "This is done and dusted, lol."

This woman in this show Yeah is unhealed & chaotic but she will only get worse with Sunny as he is a typical covert narc who would turn dangerous at any given moment as these narcs are very impulsive and reactive in the heat of the moment.
Covert narcs like to get together with emotionally damaged people, they are easy to trap and manipulate. Yes she behaves terribly and needs a lot of therapy. But the way Sunny reacts is raising red flags to me. It's natural to be upset about how she's acting, but I detect aggression in his demeanor. I also think he's torn between enjoying certain parts of Western culture and his traditional values.
