He probably needs surgery to relieve the pressure in his eyes. What gets me about these shows, is they can give makeover surgery for obesity but someone in real pain is judged. Smh
It’s a cash grab. You donate your money to them. I wouldn’t mind helping them out because I liked them on the show, but this is a false pretense. It’s the guy with the empty gas can but no car hitting people up.
Every body has the right to set up a Gofundme, but also everyone else has the right to donate or not. Unless you have a lot of cash to throw around, be discerning what charities you support. And yes, this is a charity.
In my country (Spain) there is promising research with stem-cell therapy for several issues. There's a blind guy who goes to my gym who has been blind almost since birth and had no hope 15 years ago, and now he is receiving these stem-cell treatments because there's a chance he might recover some vision. Stem cells can regenerate lots of organ tissues. I'm not an expert, but I guess they could apply this treatment or something similar to his optic nerves. People who criticise this are not experts either. Who wouldn't fight and try all possible options??
In the U.S. healthcare costs are not advertised. The prices are not controlled by the government like they are in the UK. They vary by institution and type of insurance an individual has. Those with no insurance pay 2 to 3 times more that what those with insurance do. If you don't want to contribute then don't.
I worked with a guy will no sight who over 20 years ago who spent 50k to fly to India for stem cell treatment. I have no idea what that would cost now. Give this poor guy a break.
I'm ok with whatever he does to get money at this point. My cousin is blind. Everything they need is so expensive. It's heartbreaking as well. Life is so hard for them. Plus that girl on the show treated him aweful!
@agenaw2877 correct but we have no idea if he got more than one opinion and diagnoses. Just trying to be hopeful because, hey there is always something being studied like Research is ongoing to investigate how to stimulate optic nerve regeneration. For example, Harvard Stem Cell Institute researchers are testing a "cocktail" of growth factor proteins that could be injected into the eye to restore vision. Maybe I'm just reaching....
So other useless 90 day persons can create go fund me but someone who actually needs it can't? 🤦🏾♀️ Maybe the 50 k is for traveling expenses for reliable doctor.. I wouldn't give up either... I would try all means to restore my vision. Am just tired of people.🤨🤨🤨
Exactly I'm tired of it too. People do go fund me all the time for different reasons. Folks stay pocket watching. If they don't want to give just simply don't donate. It's that simple
I'm legally biind and have had more than a dozen laser surgery to seal leaking vessels and 4 injections in each which gave me some central vision. Concerning messageim hopeful that something can help him.
I saw that post as well and I am actually going through really horrible stuff in my life right now and 90 Day fiancé and your videos and everybody else’s is a distraction for me. I don’t get brokenhearted over this show. Facebook groups by the way are very toxic in general, but especially 90 day Facebook group.
They always have someone selling cures to people, how do we know he isn't being scammed? Also he's blind but the pressure is still there and can be very painful. I'm sure he does need medical help. Harvard is also doing glaucoma studies and restored vision in mice. ...so who knows. I'd think a Harvard study would be free though.
but given the shows nature was it a actual eye surgeon vs an optometrist? as a RN his odd stories of apples and childhood falls causing blindness made no sense. Once the Dr spoke of glaucoma it made more sense that he had eye disease as a child and due to poor vision he had 2 external eye traumas, that hurt his eye balls vs his vision. Perhaps he needs the pressure released? There was no mention of eye drops to keep the eyes healthy, vs vision.
It is what it is Nobody is forcing anyone to donate So if people have it and want to give it’s on them The people who are complaining it’s simple don’t donate We have to much going on in this world right now to worry about what other people do with their own money If they get scammed its on them Just my opinion. Renee is still bad regardless what he is doing it doesn’t excuse her behavior She seems mentally unstable to the point (Allegedly) she threatened to unalive herself on the show
Pounds are different from dollars, booking from England is not the same as booking from Africa, Africa it’s more expensive. Chidi would not travel alone he would need support and accommodation, food, for them. Visa processing is expensive, Michael needed to travel to another country. Overall, my calculations are 45 to 50k minimum
Yeah I’m not sure how I feel about this. I don’t contribute to Gofundme. If it is possible for him to get some medical help for his vision, I guess it’s okay to ask.
I don't know how I feel about it either. I think if Victoria is going to ask people for 50k, she needs to give more information about what procedure would help him.
😢 These people really are starting to sound like scammers. Sorry but we have millions of poor and homeless in America that need our help. Many that also have the same or even other serious illnesses without insurance. As you stated, he was on national TV visited the eye specialist optometrist was clearly informed he will not be able to get his vision back. Yes, i and many of us feel for him. But the cash they are asking for will not bring it back. We also have many amazing surgeon's here, that do pro bono and travel to many parts of the world to do the surgeries for difficult illnesses. We are disappointed in Chidi and his family, asking for a GoFundMe. 😢
You're thinking/believing that a traditional MD is the ultimate authority on whether or not a person can recover from a condition they believe to be incurable. Things that are curable now were not curable in previous times and people believed those conditions were not curable and that's it..... until it was shown to be wrong by an innovative healer who had some new way of approaching the problem. New discoveries are being made every day and I'd love to donate to Chidi's gofundme even if it were a longshot. Madzie you love labeling all people who set up gofundme campaigns as scammers. You're wrong.
You did a great job explaining this. I hope people hang onto their $$, or at least use for your fellow countrymen, wherever you are. This is happening because of all the people who fell for Michael’s scam. Now everyone wants to try. Hopefully people learned from scammer Michael! Keep your money, folks!!’
I think a lot of us have empathy for a blind man. Thats not the issue we’re having. The issue is that Chidi and his sister are greedy fraudsters that deceive others for their own personal gain. These people will not stop at this, this is just the beginning and villainizing Rayne to gain sympathy money from Americans was their hustle all along. These are BAD people with even worse intentions and if Rayne wasn’t so unhinged, it would be a lot more obvious that they are and have been scamming this whole time. DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY!
I have narrow angled glaucoma or angle closure glaucoma. I'm not sure what type Chidi has. But I had to get an iriodotomy in each eye. It's done with a laser. Before I had treatment, I was told by doctors, that if my eyes start having pain or I have diminished vision, I have to get to a hospital, immediately!! They might be able to save my vision, but if I didn't go to the hospital right away, I would go blind and would NEVER be able to regain my vision. So idk what his sister is referring to, but I wsh she would have given us more info about how his vision might be restored. I had the procedure, but I have to go to my ophthalmologist every 6 months to have my eyes checked. My father also had glaucoma and had the procedure that I did. So, this is my experience with glaucoma. His might be different. He may have a different type of glaucoma!! Insurance covered my procedures and they paid around $3000 for both eyes. Idk what it costs if you're self-pay.
@annicklagace7414 seems odd to me that a trauma caused glaucoma in BOTH eyes. I know he said the other eye he hit on a desk, but it just seems odd that happened to both eyes. It makes me wonder if there was another underlying cause. But even with a trauma that caused it, all the information out there and my doctors too, said once you lose your vision that it won't be able to be restored. So, I would love to know what he's going to have done. My father also has glaucoma, but he's blind in one eye. So, if there's new info out there, I wish they'd share it! I went through UCLA's website and didn't see anything that would help people who have already lost their vision.
@UsefulHerbsDrOlowofoyekuPhD maybe. As far as I know though, the laser will help prevent me from going blind, but it's of no use if they've already lost their vision. My father has the same glaucoma as me, but he lost his vision in one eye, years ago. He was told that nothing could restore his sight. I would love to know if there's something new that could restore his vision in his one eye! That would be interesting if they're using stem cells
@justjo7282 the second eye was caused because the first eye was blind .. he tripped because of not seeing well.. Close one eye and tell me you feel the same as far as balance and perception ..can't see what's on one side , u could easily lose trip on something .. He absolutly needs a second opinion , especially because that exam was performed in nigeria
Maybe it's eyeball transplant operation? A very underrated vision restoration procedure imo. But hopefully he's not getting it from the black market! 😅
I don’t see the issue, they have been transparent with their wording making it clearly that it’s a possibility that it will work. Science, medical advance change all the time and medical trials. We are not doctors or specialist and don’t have access to his medical records. He is using his platform after the show. It’s up to you if you want to donate or not. Just keep scrolling. The speculation is distasteful.
U don't like chidi? If it were ur vision would u give up? And part vision or not its better than none. And there's many experimental medical trails out there. 2nd opinions etc. He does still need treatment so his eyes don't need to eventually be removed. Either way a blind guy in naija with no job options...needs money. Ur average well seeing healthy man has trouble getting a job in naija. So who cares if ppl want to donate to help his life for the better. Its not your money so why yall being so mean?! Ur fortunate enough to be living in a country like the usa or uk and probably have easy access to good medical care and daily food whenever u like and many employment opportunities. U have easy travelling roads and if u were to go blind you'd have many options for help. So is easy for u to judge. So why u breaking down and analyzing every little thing bout this? Its giving hater vibes
Exactly.. this video is so full of assumptions , it's disgusting really .. People wanting to believe what that eye Dr said , obviously don't know anything about nigeria .. He's got traumatic glaucoma, not regular glaucoma .. he absolutly does need a second opinion .. My boyfriends dad didn't even get his cataract surgery in nigeria , he went to Benin .. nigerians know everything sucks in nigeria
The only thing I could figure out is that he got another opinion out of Africa l. I have heard that vision can be restored but not with a doc in his area
I do not think this is for real help for Chidi, I understood that both his eyes were injuries that were not treated promptly, resulting in permanent damage. Rayne took him to the eye Dr & was told his sight could not be restored, however they could treat his glaucoma. It seems most people getting on 90 day, have a sob story & think the notoriety requires them to get a go fund me! $50k is ridiculous! 🤢🤮🤑🤡
I hate the notion that one person is bad so the other must be good
He probably needs surgery to relieve the pressure in his eyes. What gets me about these shows, is they can give makeover surgery for obesity but someone in real pain is judged. Smh

So he is using his platform for good and he gets backlash

@ if it is its up to us to donate or not
If you want to give to it do so. If you don't then don't. It doesn't affect anyone. Lots of people do go fund me for various reasons.
Exactly
I would donate in the HOPE for a better life. Ppl give only fans money or beggers online. I'm fine with him asking for support 😊.
Every body has the right to set up a Gofundme, but also everyone else has the right to donate or not. Unless you have a lot of cash to throw around, be discerning what charities you support. And yes, this is a charity.
You have a better chance of winning the Nigerian lottery than Chidi getting his eyesight back...😅
Please don't speculate, rather investigate first the actual center he's referencing and the actual programs they have

There is a huge difference from being blinded by glaucoma and other forms of blindness.
@@theworldisgreenerandgreener does stem call therapy cost 50k?
I think the Spanish people should fund this, then. America has their own problems right now
Very true but I don't think the research can fix wot he as and plus both my friends have the same condition as him and I'm also live in the UK
@cathy_clarinet just like we also have problems in the uk, if we're going to talk about problems it's most of the world now that has problems 😊

These 90 days people have been using GFM forever. For surgery, for living income.etc. Does anyone remember Steven, Larissa, Danielle, Ashley etc

If the nerves are dead there is nothing that can be done
@agenaw2877 correct but we have no idea if he got more than one opinion and diagnoses. Just trying to be hopeful because, hey there is always something being studied like

I encourage as many people as possible to report their go fund me so it will get taken down

if they didnt go and see a doctor already on the show, id believe them. but nope! it was shown so i dont believe his vision can be restored.
The only way for possible sight regain would be a donation of other people's eyes that have sadly passed on
