3 is corrcet answer as you can see that b/w (a & b) resistance = 4 ohm b/w (a & b) resistance = 6 ohm b/w (c & b) their are two resistances of both 12 ohm then by solving parallel resisitances of (c & b) of both 12 ohm we get =6 ohm then by adding resistance in series of AC & BC OF 6 ohm & 6 ohm we get =12 ohm. now two resistances are in parallel of 4 ohm & 12 ohm by solving them we get our answer =3 ohm tell that is it correct
okay so I found 15/4 or 3.75 ohms to be the resistance between a and the other node (not b) ... but Rab is 3 ohms! so if anyone has the confusion...we need to be careful to find Rab not Rad (if d is the other node) or anything else!
If 'd' be a point between 4 and 12 ohm, then 'b' and 'd' are at same potential. Having said that among 'a' and 'c' 6ohm among 'b' and 'c' two 12ohms and between 'a' and 'b' 4ohm, after calculation equivalent is coming as 3ohms. Do check your calculation.
Great concept! ... Neso Academy you don't know how many times I am praying for you after each your lectures! If you guys from India then after Sadhguru the Neso Academy is my second Indian soul saver!
after redrawing the ckt we get 12ohm parallel with 12ohm and we get 6ohm here and add this 6ohm to another 6 ohm resistor we get 12 ohm .now perform parallel operation between 4ohm and 12ohm we get 3ohm as an equivalent resistance.
thats because we want to find eq resistance between a and b…so the other nodes should be solved first and lastly you should come to resistance between a and b, which is 1 ohm :)
awesome lecture.. i used to fear these kind of sums but now i am finding it so easy.
Thank you Neso Academy for making my learning better
you looks hot .. good ,keep studying !
3 ohms is the equivalent resistance between th eterminal a and b...
i have been stuck on this topic for embarrassingly long but this video genuinely helped me so much! thank you
3 is corrcet answer
as you can see that
b/w (a & b) resistance = 4 ohm
b/w (a & b) resistance = 6 ohm
b/w (c & b) their are two resistances of both 12 ohm
then by solving parallel resisitances of (c & b) of both 12 ohm we get =6 ohm
then by adding resistance in series of AC & BC OF 6 ohm & 6 ohm we get =12 ohm.
now two resistances are in parallel of 4 ohm & 12 ohm by solving them we get our answer =3 ohm
tell that is it correct

They are connected to same node at one end and are connected to different nodes of second end of both resistors so they are in series ....

Homework Problem :
Equivalent resistance = 3 Ohms
The equivalent resistance is 3 ohms
The resistor 2/3ohm and 2ohm is series then why not the resistor 8/3ohm and 1ohm is not in series but parallel
2/3ohm and 2ohm are in series because they have common point "c". 8/3 and 1 are in parallel because they have different points.
15/4
