Thanks so much. My favorite Wings albums are still in this order - Back to the Egg. Wings at the speed of sound. Venus and Mars. Band on the Run. Imho I don’t think they fully gelled until band on the run. I like London Town but it’s not in my top 4 largely due to Girlfriend and a few others.
Did you ever hear Ram? My fave list was similar to yours and then I bought Ram sometime around McCartney 2. Side A was a bit obscure but had its moments. Side B is a masterpiece, full of addictive ditties (similar to Side B of Abbey Road, albeit not as polished).
Hello and thanks @@guywoznicki7847 I do love Uncle Albert and Heart of the Country. Thanks for the encouragement - I'll listen to the whole of Ram again.
Good video. Glad you let people know of this album, is a great one. I have a signed copy. Would like to get Dance The Do , picture sleeve which you showed, with him and Pans People on the front. The 2019 deluxe box set is worth getting, 2 CD and DVD and poster with booklet.
...have you seen the Spanish tv show in which Mike sings 2 songs from the LP ? Mike was 80 years old on January 7th...but spent it in HOSPITAL due to more heart surgery trouble.
I believe that every day when Wings and McGear left the studio 10cc went in to record their second album Sheet Music. Wings drums were used on Wall Street Shuffle.
"The Man Who Found God on the Moon" is one of my all-time favorite psychedelic tracks. I like the satire of the Yoko-ish voice singing the Hari Krishna mantra.
....finally , the reason I thought I WOULD get the LP autographed was that I'd uploaded a dozen or so videos featuring Mike on my Beatles RUclips channel...including his 1990 vhs video 'Alternate' Liverpool one which lasted an hour....but I've blocked them now, seeing as he blocked ME !!!!!!!!!!
A great album, not a bad track on it.Have the original vinyl then the 1st CD issue 1992 from See for Miles. Now recently purchased the Cherry Red box set 2cds & 1dvd and very glad i did.Lots of extras incl .2 more songs with Paul on!!Well worth every penny i have spent on this album over the years .Love it,a must have!!Thanks for the video .
I was going to mention the Cherry Red CD and DVD box set, but as others have already done so I'll skip that. What I would say is the writing credits are confusing. "Leave It," is credited to Paul and Linda McCartney on the original single (with no mention of Mike except on the 'B' side which is credited to Paul, Linda and Mike), whereas on the original album the credit for "Leave It," just says McCartney, as does, "What Do We Really Know?" But all the other album tracks are credited McCartney/McGear with the exception of, 'The Casket,' which is credited to McCartney/McGough (presumably Roger McGough, Mike's bandmate in Scaffold and Grimms).
The Cherry Red re-issues of the CD and LP also came with a signed (by Mike) postcard . There’s a small promo video out there showing Mike settling down to sign them all …100 each for the LP and CD , 200 total. Rather than just quickly scribble his name down on the 200 cards he had a bit of fun with them adding a bit of personality to each one. I was surprised when mine turned up to see that I had received 2 cards , one for each I had ordered , I had assumed they were going to limit the signed cards to 1 per order just to share the love out a bit more? So , even though there are 200 signed cards out there I would wager that only 140/150 people own them all ?
CLICKBAIT.....its not an unknown and it doesn’t come under the unknown wings catagory. Its Mike McCartney. Just becayse the songs were written by Paul, produced by Paul and played by most of wings, its not wings.
...Paul was annoyed that Mike didn't have any kind of provisions to generate cash as an income , following the demise of The Scaffold ....although they released The Leaving Of Liverpool in 1975. SO, Paul told Mike he had a few leftover WINGS tracks and suggested he joins them at Strawberry Studios in Stockport for a while. It contained a couple of tracks I like....but the sweeping generalisations and daft comments below are a bit silly as there's rubbish on the LP too ! Fans can 'chat' to Mike on Twitter ...however he's BLOCKED me for daring to ask him for an autograph saying 'McGear' on the LP I own , as he wants money first I think....or buy his £700 Genesis book maybe !? SO, I've bought autographs from e-bay now .
This is not a Wings album, nor is it a McCartney brothers record. It's an album by Mike McGear, with Wings as his back up band. I bought this record when it was first released after reading in a Rolling Stone review that McGear covered Sea Breezes, by Roxy Music (massive Roxy fan, here). The cover of Sea Breezes was ok, but, overall, the album is nothing of note.
That album was Paul's brother, Mike Mc Gear's album, not Wings. Paul lent a hand playing on it but it was his brother Mike's album. I had several copies of it; I know, so don't misrepresent the facts here!
Stop using lying, sensational clickbait headlines for views. This is MACCA *2. Jimmy, Denny, and Linda played the instruments and sang harmony, but Mike and Paul wrote most of the songs and Mike sang lead on every one of those songs. Wings was simply a backup band on the dual Macca disc.
Michael has a weak voice. Really doesn't sing. A couple of Paul McCartneyesque melodies and some nice harmonies. Lyrics too cutesy, silly, with weak puns.
I bought that album as a kid while living in Savannah, Georgia, USA.
I still own it. 😊
It's in surprisingly good shape considering how old it is !!!
Bought the album when it came out originally and listened to it a lot. Thanks for highlighting it.
I love Mike's album, it is really good.
Very cool how you find these great .music
Pretty sure the reissue is on amazon
This is a Mike McCartney album not Oaul McCartney and Wings
I always thought this was a very under rated album. Giving Grease A Ride and The Man Who Found God On The Moon are classics.

Great video. I have never heard aboutthese obscure albums before.
The first UK cd issue was on See For Miles in 1992

No I haven't checked them out
.....?@@AndrewBrooks
Interesting video Andrew. I've heard a lot of good things about this album but I've still never heard it. Must put that right!
just streamed it - amazing!
Yes would love to have heard paul do some of these songs.
Mike also has a album called woman that is also very good ✌️
I believe that every day when Wings and McGear left the studio 10cc went in to record their second album Sheet Music. Wings drums were used on Wall Street Shuffle.
Hmm interesting, I shall look into that. Thanks

I never heard of this album. Thanks for the video
I'm looking for the 2 LP set you said was re-issued but cannot find anything other than a 2 CD set. Do you have anymore information on the 2 LP set?
You are quite correct, the reissue lp is a single record. The cd is a multi disc set. My apologies
@@AndrewBrooks thanks
It’s available on Spotify too in its entirety, was listening to it just the other day. Not the same as physical media but still good value

I agree it is a truly fab album
I have McGear...great album!
Concise informative nice 👌

great video and great album but what happened to your microphone?
Yeah sorry, it was using a new connector.
Thurston Moore's "Sonic Life" book led me here.
Great, informative video.
What a about the SOUND quality ?

Andrew i do own this lp ive never listened to it mine is still sealed. looks like i may have to pick up another one.. great video!
Glad you enjoyed it.
A more complete release about all of McCartney's albums is here. Only eight parts of the issue! ruclips.net/video/2_BoyUdMXMk/видео.html
Not lost, I have one.
More forgotten or overlooked
CLICKBAIT.....its not an unknown and it doesn’t come under the unknown wings catagory.
Its Mike McCartney. Just becayse the songs were written by Paul, produced by Paul and played by most of wings, its not wings.
I like Leave It and The Man Who... but the rest of it leaves me cold. Mike has a good voice, it's just a pity the material din't do it justice.
I think McCartney III from 2022 was his best since McCartney II

I used to have a copy……but it’s not very good to be Frank.
Poor Frank.
