I’m glad Kara called out the audience for being disrespectful. I am so tired of the audience booing the judges for doing their JOB. This is their job to give constructive criticism so that the singers can improve. If they just said nice things all the time, they would never improve. They can’t lie and sugar coat it. It seems like every time a judge says one negative thing about a contestant’s performance, the audience boos. This is so immature and childish. Kara is right if they think they can do a better job better than them, then they should get up there and do it. Other wise, leave it to the professionals who have been in the music industry and have the experience and let them do their JOB.
I totally agree. The judges have to keep pushing you harder so you can give it your best. If you tell them that you thought you sounded okay, they'll tell you that people who go to concerts and buy cds are not going to settle for okay, they want the best and nothing less. Cara and Paula are both professional singers, Randy is recording artist, a musician and a record manager. I know people have given Simon grief as they point out that he isn't a singer or musician which is true but he's a music executive and producer. Simon is the kind of person that a singer works for. Despite what angry wannabes say, Simon DOES know what he's talking about or he wouldn't be the success he is. He runs a huge music empire that he built from scratch all the way from the ground up. Even Donald Trump has commended Simon for all his hard work and earned success. All 4 of these judges were rich and successful even BEFORE judging on the show.
Randy is right, just because you love a song doesn't mean you can sing it well. I've sung a lot of songs that I like at karaoke and when I heard myself on some of them, I didn't like how I sounded. Being a singer doesn't mean you can sing ANY song well. It depends on the sound of your singing voice and your singing style.

When I saw performance years ago I really enjoyed it just as I enjoy it right now. She was just ahead of her time
she should of slowed it down or jazzed it up a little cuz this was a bad performance

You can change an arrangement of a song to suit your voice better and she or the American Idol execs didn't :P
