I'm pretty sure that Cinderella's glass slippers didn't disappear after midnight because unlike the dress, the carriage and all the rest, the shoes weren't transformed from something. The fairy godmother made them and gave them to her, they were completely magical.
For the Cinderella plot holes you mentioned, it also occurred to me! But I think in the live action they mentioned how the fairy godmother had the spell make her unrecognizable to her stepmother and sisters so maybe that played into it? I haven’t watched it in forever, so don’t take my word. 😂
I’m pretty sure that’s it. She is recognisable to the prince but no one else(her stepmother and stepsisters), since the prince had invited her or something and she wanted the prince to know she was there.
Also the slippers are the only thing that are completely made by magic. The rest is transfigured into something else so it returns to its natural state
loved this video so much 🖤 hearing you talking about Butcher & Blackbird made me want to immediately start a reread but maybe this time for the audio! Also i would 10000000% recommend the Pleasure and Prey series by AJ Merlin. they're all on KU and audio and focus on a bunch of serial killers too that all know each other and are getting into relationships of their own, love love love a romance that is different and a tad darker 💖
Hey Ali, Found your channel completely at random as I was looking for other readers thoughts on The Unhoneymooners after a friend recommended it to me as I love a good romcom movie but had never read a romance book and I have to say (as a guy) I feel so much happier after reading a romcom, most of my reads are crime/thriller/procedurals so your channel is a source of happiness for me and helps me find my next happy read. It also makes me realise the world is not all doom & gloom & you're always safe inside a book.
Too funny - i just got into Rom Com books last month and found Ali while looking for good rom com books and authors. I have always read Psychological Thrillers and True Crime - Serial Killers. Even when growing up i read Mysteries and thrillers.. After watching lots of reviews i went and bought one highly rated book from 15 different popular Rom Com authors. I have only read 2 books so far but i have really enjoyed them. Hi from one Rom Com Newbie to another. Lol. 😂 ❤
Hey Ali! I recommend the Tangled Twisted Tale. Instead of Rapunzel having healing powers her hair is deadly. It's my favorite Disney Twisted Tale I have read so far! 5/5 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Wow, 4 books in 24 hours seems really fast although i have never timed myself when i read...lol. i am definitely going to check out that serial killer book/series. I am new to romance (rom com) books but i have loved thriller and true crime books about serial killers for many years. Thanks for the romance recommendations.. i have a big pile of tbr rom coms - i bought one book from like 15 rom com authors. I tried to choose their best rated books. . It is really fun getting into a brand new genre. i am currently reading Truly Yours by Abby Jimenez and i read Book 1 of Knockemout series by Lucy Score. I like them both although Lucy Score is way too wordy. I have also read 2 great memoirs in the past month..
Depends on what you're reading, but I wouldn't call taking an average of 6 hours to read a book super fast. Obviously, that depends on the book length, though. It takes me about 4 or 5 hours to read a 400 page book personally.
The Twisted Tales are my favorite!! Please read more! As Old as Time, Once Upon a Dream, and Conceal Don’t Feel are some of my favorites! But the entire series is so magical ✨✨✨
@@makennastanley Oh there’s a ton. I think around 15 at this point!! There are also some that are released but are only being sold in countries not within the U.S. But in the U.S. there are about 15 in the series!
i loooooved so this is love! i remember as a child that i obsessively watched cinderella on my portable DVD player, so i think most of the enjoyment came from the nostalgia of it hahaha. i loved that the book started where the movie ended, so it felt like a totally new extension of the universe! you have all this knowledge of what the characters were like leading up to this moment from the movie, but you get to see them do totally different things :) it was such a fun take on the story
Such a nice video!! Maybe a strange question, but do you have any idea what piece is being played on the clarinet while you where reading 'so this is love'? I play the clarinet myself and this piece speaks to me ☺ Greatings from The Netherlands!
I think the whole Cinderella no mask and unrecognizable part is along the same fence as how clark Kent is not recognized as supernanny because all that changes is their outfit and the fact that they are complete opposite and “super” or “beautiful” from their normal person that people cannot even put together that they are one in the same.
With the Cinderella plot holes, I think the fairy godmother made her hard to recognize because in the movie her stepmother and sisters didn’t realize it was her, or he didn’t recognize her with her hair different and without makeup and stuff (which is dumb but 🤷🏻♀️). And also I think the fairy godmother left the slippers on purpose, as a way to get Cinderella away from her stepmother and to marry the prince. But either way I’m so glad you enjoyed So This Is Love and Butcher And Blackbird! I read both of them (and Love Theoretically) last year and loved them so much!!
If you're looking for a wonderfully odd, eclectic and original collection of fairy tales to read this wintery break in similar style to Alice in Wonderland and The Little Prince, then you need to check out this book that my friend recently published entitled 'Sillies, Fancies, and Trifles: A Collection of Shorts' - it's unlike anything I've read in recent memory
okay i don't know why but i have to ask ali and people in the comments: do yall take the dust jacket off of your hardcover books when reading them or do you leave it on while you're reading? i got my first BOTM book, which was a hardcover. i have not read a hardcover in a long time because they're expensive and i prefer the feel of paperbacks. i read the first bit of it with the dust jacket before i just had to take it off because i didn't want to ruin the dust jacket and also it was annoying to read the book with it. last question: paperback or hardcover?
Also, the fact that prince charming only recognizes her all dressed up but when she isn't in her fancy get-up he doesn't realize it's her made me question things when watching the Cinderella movies

No
You should read other Twisted Tales! I love Straight On Till Morning which is a Peter Pan retelling.
Yes!! As Old as Time is one of my favorites!! It’s a Beauty and the Beast retelling!

Yes that’s what I remember from my childhood as well from the cartoon. The spell makes her unrecognizable.
