Shitchea. I recently went a step lower & put the B, E, A & D from a 5 string set on my 4 string. Since I stopped pissing around playing metal and got into dub I don’t even touch the high G anymore. Dunno why I waited so long hahaha

They still bawl out in the dancehall for those classic rocksteady/early reggae bass riddims, over 50 years after they were first created and recorded! That attests to the power and ingenuity of these deceptively simple riddims and the bass players who came up with them. Some of those riddims, like your "Answer" as well as "Real Rock", "Heavenless" etc. have over 400 different recordings that use them. Worlda respect to you for your work on youtube.

Straight outta Haiti to the USA. Reggae has became very very huge in Haiti. We even play Reggae in church. I'm starting to learn the bass myself, and it was a blessing to watch this video. It's like God himself brought me here to watch this video. Great video. Flabba taught me all about discipline, I used to listen to a lot of funk when I was younger and thought the more notes you played the better bass player you were. Then I discovered Roots Radics and it all changed for me.

wow. im so glad to stumbled your channel.im a producer predominantly reggae but I use mid for 10 years and now iv'e decided to step up a notch and bought my first bass today.i can hear the echo of the strings after I play the notes but I haven't worked out how to get rid of that yeti been working with black slate for about 2years now producing forRoyalmuzikproductionz and Music House. as I'm not great on music theory I trust my ears to help me paint beautiful pictures of rhythms .I cannot afford a session bassist on tab so im ready to learn from others and also teach myself .I love originality and heavy baselines .

Have to say you seem to understand micro-timings in the way a Carribean musician does - I often find British players are keen to be on the beat; you seem able to let some transients through with an almost imperceptible delay. Yes, an engineer would do that with a gate or something, but you do it naturally. Not blowing smoke up your arse, just an honest observation.
