I've been on tour with these guys for the last month, and they are some of the coolest guys you can be around. Everybody expresses their love for God differently.
You are right, we should certainly be examples and do our best to abstain from things that conform us to the ways of the world. However, music is their gift from God, and you have to look at their intentions. Not every Christian band has to literally say, "Praise Jesus" in their songs for it to be Christian music. Watch their interviews and you'll see how much they love God. They are simply trying to get the youth's attention by showing them that loving Jesus isn't stiff, it's exciting and fun.
Wow. I can't believe it has been 8 years since this came out. Still great, still powerful. I can't even explain how much this means to me. I just found it after years, and In just happen to be going through one of the most difficult periods of my life. The Holy Spirit can NEVER be taken from me

People say that this is not a christian because they don't mention God or Jesus in the lyrics but if you listen closely you can hear that what they are saying is biblical. I LOVE THIS BAND !! I went to their concert in Ventura, CA at the epic center it was EPIC!!!!!!
We saw them last night in concert! They are grrrrrrrrrrrrreat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow what a way to start the concert! A lot energy and the guys are so nice!!! We got to talk to them!!! God bless them and hopefully keep making that great music with a great message!

There are many ways to bring glory to our Savior, one of which is by enjoying the life He's given us and being ourselves. Let them be who God created them to be.

One of the DJs on Air1 has been talking about this video, saying how shocked he was by it, and I just had to see what he found so objectionable. Personally, I think this video is awesome! The part with the police officer is hilarious! Whoever came up with the concept for the video is a genius!
Wonder how many Highway 65's there are? We live off Highway 65! My kids love this song and so do I. They wonder if they are singing about our Highway 65. :)
And yet are we not all given jobs to earn a living? Who are you to tell someone who is using the gifts and talents God has given them that they have not lived up to His expectations? You have no right putting your expectations on them .This is not a worship song and who says they have to only sing worship songs?.Music is their job and God guides them. All God requires of us whether we be a singer, a janitor,lawyer ,clerk etc. is to act justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with our God.

The song is already secular without hearing Jesus getting the praise I don't know who or what they are praising. It's the only way I can be sure. Secondly, there is no compromise when you are committed to God. Loving Jesus isn't stiff and it's fun and excitement which is which is why we rejoice in victory, in faith and in the goodness of the Lord. That is very exciting.
