Just want to say thank you for all the videos you have put up! Currently at Pirbright and starting week 10 next week out of the 12 weeks I have here, your videos were a massive help before starting here! Also, ordered my first bits from your website earlier, a new t-shirt and a patch so excited to get that when I get back from here too 👍 Thanks again
Thank you and hope all is going well. Keep smashing it, seen your order and it is getting dispatched tomorrow for you 🤙
Yeah it's going great here thank you! That's great about the order as well, cheers 👍
I'm thinking about joining the royal artillery light gunner seems like an amazing job and will feel great to serve my country
I'm starting AFC harrogate three days!! So excited and nervous. Just wanted to say thanks so much for giving us a great insight and being so informative. Also hope you do a vid like this about RLC too thanks :)
Ah nice one good luck and enjoy and I will be one day. Good to know my videos have helped

i did my RA basic training at the Woolwich Barracks which was the home of the RA, i arrived at Woolwich on 04/03/80 3 days after starting my army assessment at Sutton Coldfield, as to my surprise i passed everything at my assessment and i was one of the smallest 18yr olds on the course, i was joined at Sutton Coldfield by an old school friend and we travelled from Warrington together so at least i had someone there that i knew, i went straight to Woolwich and was put in to an holding troop for a week as the troop that we was going to replace was on their final week of training, i then started my training got BACK SQUADDED( back trooped in todays term)after about 4 weeks of training as i had an ingrowing toenail removed followed by 2 operations on my sinuses which then meant i was sent home after both operations on sick leave the first one for a weekend only and the second operation was for a week which ended up being 2 weeks sick leave as i fell sick while on sick leave and my Dr signed me off sick for an extra week as the illness was related to the last operation i had, so instead of spending 14 weeks at Woolwich i ended up spending 20 weeks at the Barracks but i did pass out with flying colours and won best recruit, during my first original week of training (which was during my first training troop) we was all given what regiment we would be joining at the end of training and at that time i was given and explained as 22 air defence Rapier surface to air missile, ( which one of our instructors always referred to it as ground to air )and that never changed even though i was BACK SQUADDED, and unlike today we didn't have phase 1 & phase 2 it was straight off to our regiment, but only after we returned from our 2 week summer break as my training ended on the Friday the Barracks was closing for 2 weeks, and everyone was sent home even the ones that was still in training and those of us that passed out on that day was also allowed the 2 weeks off before joining our regiments, the good old days
In 1985 I got back squadded due to in growing toe nails 😊 went from Arnhem troop to Le cateau to repeat the first six weeks 🥲
Champion! Cheers. I was actually going to request a piece on RA as that was the regiment i was considering. Much appreciated!
I am thinking of joining too. I'm hoping for 32 reg
No worries it's good to know my video has helped
@@windowlickertez8837 oh it won't, how come?
@@windowlickertez8837 ahh ok might have to look into something else. You plan on joining the army or are you already in it? If so what do you do?
@@windowlickertez8837 what infantry regiment was you in? And what reg in Artillery was you in as well
Can you do a video on the forward observer role in terms of training, daily life etc it’s a role I’m looking into I just want a bit more information especially with current things with covid
1:34 "Trade first, Soldier always"
Could you do a video on your experience with p company and the para course
Going to try and join as a special observer and work my way into 29 commando artillery
Good luck and enjoy
@@CombatReadyHQ cheers boss!
how'd it go?
Can you get your Driving Licence theory and practical if you applied for Kings Troop?
ill be going royal arty in the coming months as i passed my assessment and had arty as a second choice and defo want to be on foot possibly the air side of it
That's wicked congratulations!
@@CombatReadyHQ thank you mate appreciate it defo looking to go 7 para
@@bobbydonnelly6571 do it.
Could you do a video interviewing officers about their rank progression and role etc.
Yes
I’m hoping to rejoin this summer, going RA as a surveillance observer then hopefully 29 Commando, was MD 2 years ago from ITC for a stress fracture on my hip, I’m 29 now which worry’s me slightly
Age is just a number, go for it
@@CombatReadyHQ cheers buddy, can’t wait 🤗 it’s been a long wait !
How did it go?
My advice is once you've got your trade, volunteer for any and every course going. Can bump up your wages. Things are different now to my day though late 80's into the 90's starting at JLRRA then 50Msl with the Lance Nuclear Missile. Although I was in Special Defence Group as specialist infantry. Good video mate
Thanks mate🤙🤙🤙
Nice
Please do one covering the medical forces
I will be
Great vid, looking to change corps to RA, but not very much info on the Command systems or surveillance observer(not special) roles. Do you know any where to gather more information? Thanks
Could you do a video on RA / RHA reserves phase 2 training please 👍🏻
Something I could look into
That would be good I'm thinking of joining the 295 RA air defense reserves.
Wow lovely video sir, could you please do a video on the royal regiment of fusiliers
I will on the infantry
@@CombatReadyHQ thanks sir, I can't wait
Do u have to do specialized pt to go into 4/73 ? . Great video btw
Hey I am 15, planning to join the army after school. I have been looking into jobs and I feel like I would like the artillery, shooting massive guns seems cool af. Idk weather to leave school and train for a while or to stay in school and join after.
Hey Craig, can I ask for some helpful info if that’s alright…. I’m joining the army, but trying to decide on what I should go for, MY GOAL IN THE END, is to go the ‘commando route’, either via the artillery or engineers, if I was to go choose artillery to go for 29 one day, would I be able to join 29 with the UAV job role? That’s the one I would like to do the most in the artillery, but if that won’t let me apply for 29, then I’ll dodge it, and look at the engineers instead… Thanks for the help
Hey Craig, a question about the officer side of things;
To my knowledge, after Sandhurst, during the YO course you get to express your choice in artillery regt. Say I wanted to go into 29 Cdo or 7RHA and for whatever reason wasn't able to (e.g. not enough slots for amount of YOs applying), is it something you can attempt later down the line or must it be done then? E.g. be in a regular gun regt, apply and do AACC/Pcoy and transfer over to the respective regiment?
Cheers
What do those who already have a car licence do when the non-drivers are doing driving?
I don't understand how regiments work, can i join as a light gunner and then join the 7 para royal horse artillery or do i have to join as a para? same thing with the 29 commando artillery
Join the a member for more 121 help but essentially yes join a gunner and then put your preference down as 7 para rha to join them from training
Do you know how arduous 4/73 training would be for someone straight out of phase 1, and is it at all feasible? I know you said you had limited knowledge on it, but do you have a rough idea how hard it is?
10 % success rate
@@mlgproductionsco2818 wow! Thanks, I knew it was hard but I didn't think it was that hard.
Will you do a video on the guards
Yes in the future
If you want to join 29th after being with a normal gunnery regiment and transfer is that allowed or do you have to go for it straight away?
Could you do the next one regarding electricians ?
During basic training are you allowed to go
Home at any time in the weekends?
It every weekend. Pirbright you’ll get one long weekend to go home, Harrogate and catterick have more but not every weekend
I'm at phase 1 training rn for the artillery :)
Ah nice one, how's that going?
How is it going mate?
I’m yet to complete my final assessments and get in for training
Same as myself in week 5 at the min at Pirbright
Hi I start my basic in Winchester on the 7th and wanting to go RA AS90 I've looked online and even phone my local recruitment centre and they wasn't very helpful so your vid on the RA has come at a perfect time and given me way more info of the process from phase 1 through to battalion.
If you can are you able so give alittle more info on the as90 regiments as the info online is lacking or out of date.
Thank you
I will be doing more in the future on these Regiments, make sure you ask your section commander's in training they will be able to help
@@CombatReadyHQ thank you
good vid 👍
Thank you
What would you say about the Royal artillery logistics specialist??
Can you do a video on special observers please
Can you do a vid on SPECIAL OBSERVERS
Is fst like the guys on the jackals and mastiffs with mgs on top ?

@@lukie9196 ah alright cheers
In phase 1 at the moment. Could you do REME? I’m joining to be a vehicle mechanic.
I will be yes
Thinking about joining 29 commando regiment as a light gunner
Did you
Thaks bro
🤙
would be really interested in joining 29, if they arent doing the extra pt I wonder if they are still letting people join
Yes they will still be recruiting, that definitely isn't something to stop recruitment
Wow I like it that video
Thank you
@@CombatReadyHQ you willcome any time
Could you do a video on The Guards?
Yes
CAN YOU PLEASE DO ARMY AIR CROPS , APACHE PILOT
What’s the accommodation like at Larkhill?
What made you choose 7 over 29?
The regiment interested me more, the thought of parachuting and working with 16 brigade appealed to me more and the para pay was an extra bonus
@@CombatReadyHQ awesome, great video as always
3rd are light gun not AS90
What are the 3 🏆 (trophies) for?
Are you going to do one for REME, specifically Aircraft Technician?
I will do one on reme there is a lot of trades in the reme and not my role so unsure if I'll be doing each trade specifically but will do my best to touch on them all
@@CombatReadyHQ cheers, I have only recently stumbled across your content and you are definitely one of the best military channels out there. Keep up the sick content 👍🏻

How do you go about joining 4/73 to be a special observor?
You request to do the 4/73 selection after phase 2 😊
47 don't do p company it's 32 as they have a battery attached to 16 air assault
Ah sorry, didn't realise they had moved the battery to 32. Thank you
@@CombatReadyHQ no worries I belive its 21 or 22.
do you have to go in fitter to phase 1 if u want to join 29 commando?
Yes and no! Go in as fit as you can anyway no matter what regiment you join but they will help build you up in phase one and two
Any chance of recruitment for commonwealth citizens in the near future??
Nothing to do with me sorry, I'm not part of recruitment
Can you join commando or para later on in your career?
Yes you can.
Do you have comments on the Fusiliers?
Never worked with them sorry
