    I know this area very well but by road, never used the track ( or knew of its existence) . That chalk mine(a few old examples are along the road route) is a wonderful example of what makes up the South Downs and gives our chalk streams Test & Itchen your passing some seriously expensive fishing rights on the test. Stores a lot of water thankfully so we should be ok for the long hot summer we will have 🤞
    Your route is the result of the “Beeching Cuts” to the railways in the 60s. I’m sure that railway carriage at horsebridge is or was lived in by somebody. One of the few abandoned stations along the route.

      Thank you - it looks like some other people have made videos of this area under the search term "The Sprat and Winkle Line", and the house with the railway carriage and train station is a guest house I found out today. I've never been to this part of the world, so it was really a good ride, despite the mud and rain on the way home.
