Hi Wayne, I just stumbled onto your cite and awesome lesson for a beginner! So glad to have watched this. Looking forward to working on your lesson. Thank you very much.
I recorded several different tracks like that to use on the channel when I first started kickin around the idea of doing WWOM. Glad you like it and thx for the comment......
Thx for the question Pamela. I apply as little pressure as possible without getting a string buzz. Be sure your finger placement is right behind the fret wire. This helps with clarity and tone....
I CANNOT pull off the G chop chord and I've played guitar for 50 years.....lol......the stretch is just too much for me.....so I play pointer finger on the A string second fret....middle finger on the G string fourth fret ....and third finger on the D string fifth fret......it works!....
Gibby, Re chop chords Mike Marshall often recommends just playing the 2 bottom strings, so with G chop play G strings fret 7 and D strings fret 5. He always emphasises that it's these bottom courses that are fundamental in creating the chop sound and not to play the top two courses of strings anyway. I only got to find Wayne's lessons today - they are excellent.
Yep. That's a common way to avoid the pinky note that works great. I have a video up about that as well as another that focuses on using the pinky in an excersize to help stretch it out some. Good luck....
Best teacher on RUclips
Thank you Teresa! 😊
I must say Wayne, I like the way you teach. I like your style.
Thanks for this video. It is very helpful.

Awesome, thank you!
Good stuff here.
Awesome video Wayne! Can you post a short video with some basic “kick offs” for bluegrass tunes?
Hey Rich, that video is in the first batch for 2022. Happy New Year pal....
What is the intro music? Is that your playing? Or is it a piece by someone? It's great.
