R.I.P.
Thank you. This is wonderful. Tomita has a colorful and fanciful interpretation of classical music in his repertoire, but "Storm from the East" demonstrates the beauty of his original compositions.
i bought just about all he released in this country. had i seen this album, i would already own it.
Баярлалаа.
Beautiful
Es extraordinario los sonidos que no se escuchan en ninguna parte de nuestra tierra, la musica es unica del mundo de este musico japones
Isao Tomita...Master of the balance between the sound engineering and the musical composition and performance. Perhaps one of the best averages on the albums musical quality (his compositions for samurai films are of an exceptional quality). Pitty it was no far broadcasted this album in the early 1990s. Better late than never. Failure of the Mongol empire after Genghis Khan "and the inheritors whereabouts" remind the failure of the Soviets and "the actual inheritors". The Akira Ifukube of the electronic music.
Otra gran composición del maestro Tomita

I dont know how I ended up here, but I am watching this in 2013.
why?
This is the real electronic music. Not electronica or New Age....not not not
This is true, though the problem is that that requires an activated frontal lobes, and that is somethig the majority in any country tend to lack (and apparently, the people who get into positions of power DID NOT get to that position with a conscience).
But you're right on about that and it is a message more people need to heed. Thanks
@allgoo19
That's a kind of troll question - he's been a composer for more than 50 years with an American Grammy and Japanese Academy Award for best original score. He did more than almost anyone since the 1970s for using the synth to expand the orchestral sound. It is fair to criticize him in that he likes classical music from 100 years ago and light pop. But his achievement is in the direction using electronic techniques in the realm of tone color that are new yet familiar in a surreal way.
it is complete on video,google,com

RIP.. Isao Tomita was a really great musician. Vangelis is also one/ so are Mark Isham & Sakamoto.
Harold Budd and Eno ..are not..
Isao Tomita doesn't use the sound of musical instruments.
He creates his music entirely from the sampling of everyday sounds and synthesizer.
A question is often asked, is he a sound engineer or musician?
This is a 1992 synth score. At this point he was combining synths and samplers. His 1970s Classical music albums are all synth with the exception of Mellotron and some sitar. Now what I'm wondering is the plucked/struck ethnic instrument. It does sound a bit real - see around 5:40. Is he a musician or a sound engineer?
@itisnick "kind of troll question .."
What does that suppose to mean?
The music for this album was made for this show.

Pretty much... Except for us Cossacks. But they were certainly worthy opponents and all respect to them for it!
On a note, as my Ukraine is in not so good a shape itself (due to Soviet mismanagement) I just want to raise awareness of the troubles in Mongolia right now (also due to Soviet and perhaps Red Chinese mismanagement).
Anyone viewing please be aware of this fact, as the wreckage of the Soviet era still lingers in the air, but with the buzzards of gangsterism as well...
Hmm, actually your name MANGUDAI is very intriguing one!!! Mangudai is genuine Mongol name and most important of all it is the name of one of the original Mongol tribes that aligned themselves with "Borjigin" Chingis Khaan tribe and went all over the world as elite Mongol troops since Manguds were known for its military skills, bravery and ruthlessness!!
