Some of the negative comments are not meant for you to take personally it is because us "Angels" (Angelina's dedicated fans) are very protective and proud of her. Some of us have been listening to Angelina's covers for many years and probably have heard them many hundreds of times and we still can't get enough. We do enjoy the history you add to the reaction. Angelina was up against some serious competition here, especially the guy in the pink t-shirt (3rd place ) a world class break dancer/athletic, he could've won any competition in the world! so it shows how incredible Angelina had to be to actually win this competition.
I became a angel about 15 months ago and with each passing day I am more astonished by the musical genius who is Angelina Jordan Astar.
8 years old , plays 3 instruments speaks 4 languages , was named a child prodigy im pretty sure she grasped a lot more than we understand about her . The gap she demonstrated in this completion has only widened as she has gotten older it is common for her to be compared against singers 2 and 3 times her age even now she only 15 and still in school . You know what i found interesting?... at the end...when the judges come to hug her...take notice how SHE is rubbing their.backs..when a person does this it is actually a way to covey love with comfort. Yes, she always does this when she hugs. Check out the very end of her performance on The View when she receives a hug from Rosie after singing Fly Me to the Moon. She also displays the most beautiful smile as she tells Rosie, "thank you very much" for the toys. It's a very special moment.
Nina / Roger - YES YES. I am so glad someone else comments on this. I have done so a few times as I found that amazing to see. She also does it to Heidi in AGT when Heidi comes up onto the stage after the performance. And it struck me straight away this is not a hug from a child ( in a way - I know it is) but it is so much more than just a hug. I hope and dream that one day I will get a hug from Angelina and have that comforting love. It may never happen but I will be travelling to see her whenever I first can and I can "Live with Hope" 💓😀👍

Thank you for showing Billy Holiday sing first! That blew me away to see how much Angelina sounded like her. Also thank you for showing her win NGT. It's the first time I saw that and it was so touching to see her cry. I would love to hear what the judges think of Angelina's singing career from the age of 7 until now. I would like to know if they have a favorite performance.
The screaming older lady in the audience towards the end was Angelinas grandmother (a jazz singer herself): she has introduced Angelina into jazz/blues music when she was still a little baby. Apparently in a very nice and playful way without pressure, otherwise we would not enjoy this very talented singing teenager today clearly enjoying every second on stage: Angelina loves both her grandmother and jazz/blues music dearly.
I can only conclude that the 54% who didn't vote for Angelina were the families of the other contestants . . . some of whom snuck in a vote for her too!

You need to purchase her book “ Between Two Harts “ published when she was nine but based on her diary entries at age six. You will then be able to understand the depth of this child. I would be willing to guarantee that she understood all that was said. Based on her diary entries she is intellectually and mentally ten years older than her actual age. @@jollyo9276 I don't recall ever hearing her sing anything a cappella - certainly not an entire song. Apparently she sang "Strange Fruit" a cappella for the owner of Commodore Records, which prompted him to release the song (with music, of course) on his label. But that sounds like it was a private performance, not a public one. [grin] As for "I'm a Fool to Want You" specifically, since she recorded it for the final album released in her lifetime (and she died about a year after its release), I'd say it's very unlikely that she ever performed it in public a cappella, even if she did ever sing anything else that way. But I'm no Billie Holiday expert.

Angelina seems to channel whatever singer she covers. It's incredible. She was and is very mature and started singing at one and half years. That's a lot of experience, even at 7/8.
She clearly hears the music....in her head. Always does.
Angelina's vibrato's makes the music for when she sings a cappella.
When she won, she was asked what she was going to do with the money, she said and did donate it to charity for orphans.

A really good review, loved it! As mentioned by others, this was cut for timing reasons, presumably; but do yourself a favour and listen to the full-length version. She absolutely floored the judges. You will understand why Bjarte and Mia both had tears in their eyes.

It's simple. There are two Angelinas. There's the little girl and there's the singer. The singer is an old soul, possibly many old souls, who accidentally got reborn in Angelina's little body. They're all fully grown, fully mature, just waiting for little Angelina to grow big enough to really let rip.

The only thing I really wonder about as far as how much she understood what the judges were telling her was when Bjarte, after "Bang Bang" in the semifinals, told her that if he hadn't met her family, he would be _scared_ for her. Of course, I knew exactly what he meant - and if I had seen her performance on the day it aired live, I might have been scared for her in exactly the same way. But ya just don't say that kind of thing to an 8-year-old! [grin] I really hope someone explained that comment to her in an age-appropriate way afterwards…

Whether the tooth had a big effect or not, I don't know, but the change in her singing, the additional control and self-confidence over a two or three month period is amazing. It is the sort of changes that an adult would work for a year to accomplish.

So there is a video of this a cappella performance with the Billie Halliday back track behind her. It is genius. You can hear that in her head, she was hearing the back track. She has put her own Angelina mark on this, it is not an exact duplicate of Billie Holiday’s. But when you hear her with the back track, her choices are brilliant. Well worth listening to.
In the 130 videos between NGT and AGT - The Champions, Angelina showed that she is able to master every genre, not just jazz. Use Rusty Shackleford's complete list of every song and throw darts. You will be surprised and pleased again and again. That's part of her mystique.

Hi! "History Buff" is a good channel to review, among other things, those musical artists who will go down in history or will have changed history. Ex: 20th century musical artists like Louis Armstrong, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, etc. I think you're right on target to include Angelina Jordan in this category. An entire group of generations - world wide - are being exposed to music they previously didn't care about. Jazz, etc. And this is still just the beginning for Angelina Jordan.
I feel so bad for the other contestants, as it seems like they weren't even there for that season....

Hi HB, What a brilliant, lovely, emotional ( well was for me as I always cry when I see Angelina cry - but happy tears) reaction - Thank you so much. This 8 year old sang a cappella so perfectly, and so bravely and there is a mashup in RUclips ( well 2 I think from memory) one with the music added to Angelina's a cappella version ( which is beautiful to here too) and also a mashup with the Billie Holliday version which shows how much in perfect sync Angelina is. It is beyond my comprehension how a just turned 8 year old can do this. ( I those 2 other videos I mention are probably Phillips as he is really good at that and he'll probably comment in reply knowing Phillip to give the links.
But thank you for playing Billie's original, I think it really helps people to appreciate more how amazing AJ is especially if you don't really know the song initially.
And then the finale. I love re-watching this. Not only did the 8 year old beat the grown men acts, but she got 46% of the vote. (and as another commenter put in another reaction recently [ which I have to pinch here lol] the other 52% of voters merely hit the wrong button !!😃🤣. And yes, it was a massively humble and (I guess expected now as we know Angelina) reaction when she was announced the winner. No over the top theatrics, just tears of joy and what where her first words when quizzed by the host " I would like to thank everyone". I am pretty sure she was the youngest in the competition ( well into the final) There is another longer video of the a cappella knockout round where some other young children got eliminated. It is not wrong to say what you said. In fact, it makes sense. You are a history buff, and you are recognizing that Angelina is making history. Billie Holiday had to start somewhere.
Some of the men are about 25 to 30 years old juice, crew with a dance crew, and a really good couple of girls with pretty good singers that are musician and some other singers and most of mine is not really good I was trying but not on her quality not her ability she outshine them all Her stage presence was phenomenal. Her voice is phenomenal her ability performance phenomenal. She’s got the whole package and she’s only got better since she’s eight and 272 days she’ll be 18 and a huge career ahead of her. She’s been in Paris in Germany, France, Russia, Bulgaria, Slovakia, many different countries around the world series concerts, she did the last one in August in July and will Norway and then she’s going to Japan to do a concert. She’s becoming a very very good bro known singer and performer. Her grandmother’s Iranian her dad is Swedish and grandpa is Japanese.
So, I'm still laughing at your comment about the Chihuahua dog!! 😂 But I have huge grin when I see our Baby Angel who has grown and spread huge, beautiful wings that lift our spirits, and transport us to her special, magical wonderland! The woman holding the signs for AJ, that was going crazy, was her maternal grandma, Mery Zamini, an Iranian artist & poet, who was a child prodigy herself. She's the one who introduced Angelina to jazz at 3 & has documented Angelina's progression since then. She recorded this for her 2018 album, It's Magic, when she was still 11. I think what you're calling "tinny style" is labeled by experts as a "twang".
Your point about "only 8 years old" I think is valid. She presents as mature way beyond her years, and I tend to forget. Though I have said that at age 10 we need to stop saying "for her age" because she could stand directly alongside any other singer worldwide, regardless of age.
Maybe “vocal fry?” Someone said it reminded them of listening to a vocal recorded on vinyl.

500,000 Kr was about $80,000. She said she would give it to charity and I think she did for most of it. But, for a number of years, she seemed to be able to hire bands to work with her. Then it dried up at about 10-11 years old and she started performing at home.

There is a much newer version of I’m a Fool to Want You. Check it out, you will really hear the step up.
That is true of all her favorite covers like Fly Me to the Moon. She has managed to improve on perfection.

As she has done so many times, in my opinion, Angelina improved on the original. There's a mash up out there with both voices at the same time, and Angelina is so close to perfect doing it a cappella, that it is amazing. I doubt that any of the kids behind her had ever heard of Billie Holiday or the song. LOL

You need to buy her book she wrote, that was published when she was 9. She wrote about an experience she had at 6. When you read it you will find the thoughts in that 6 year old were not normal, but way beyond her years! It's available on her channel. She definitely understood everything! God Bless!

It is the beginning of the FINALS? show, I believe and it is a group sing, and if I remember correctly, Angelina starts it off. I have seen it twice. IT IS NOT something to react to.... just a curio.

@@HistoryBuff Angelina is still the youngest winner ever of _Norway's Got Talent_ (at the time, the show had a minimum age requirement of 7 - not sure if that's still true). Since she won, it looks like there have been two younger winners of GT franchises in other countries (which obviously have different rules): a 3-year-old DJ in South Africa (2015) and a 2-year-old drummer in Spain (2019).
