The beauty to me is the same as ever, but it’s a dance all of us could do together to start our day in our towns instead of tai chi. You really gave me a dream there thank you.
As joyous now as it was 35 years ago. So many wonderful small moments.
God, the formations and timing are so satisfying.
RIP Paul Taylor.
Perfect exemplification of how Taylor combined his ballet training along with modern structuring from his experience dancing for Martha. Great piece!
thank you for this post, I was in NYC at the time of creation and saw Esplanade more than once, It is a Gem, never getting tired of this piece, JS Bach must be so pleased!
This piece by Paul Taylor gives me such joy everytime I see it. Paul Taylor's company is awesome.
The music is so overplayed I started falling to sleep to it decades ago: Mr Taylor retrieved, for me, its utter magnificence. This dance should be required viewing for anyone studying art in America.
They are so effortless and synchronized perfectly.
Such a masterwork! Simplicity done so well… they make it look so easy…
Some how my dance collaborators and I were talking about Paul Taylor's dances this morning. So I decided to look for his choreography and low and behold, I see the smiling face of my dance teacher from CalArts, Nicholas Gunn. I loved his classes. It was great seeing him again after all these years.
This ballet expresses joy.
This is just so, so beautiful!
Your mom

Two days after Election, 2016, I came here. It really helped.

Rest in peace to an icon!
Groovin'ly cool
very interesting, came here after watching his charlie rose interview
Rest in Peace
I'm watching this for a dance appreciation class in college. Why am I only 58 seconds in and I'm uncomfortable? Is it the lighting? The outfits? The movement? Obviously these people are crazy talented but I don't feel well...
why am i doing the exact thing for the exact class.
I’m assuming every Gap ad (and countless others) over the last 20 years has paid royalties?
At :29 actual dancing starts after the wonderful dancer's credits.

What music is this piece? I came here from an article that told me it is Bach, but I don't know what Bach piece it is.
Violin Concerto No. 2 in E Major, Allegro (BWV 1042)
I don’t get what is so beautiful about this (ps I’m a student)
Power and Beauty of Simplicity 💫

Questo tipo di "arte", per me e insipida,.. indore e incolore,..( con tutto il rispetto per chi a lavorato tanto)... non fa per me !!!
