I fucking love what you guys are doing man, feels like I have other producer friends with whom I can sit and talk about stuff it feels crazy, thank you for all you're doing in this almost rotten community
I think we live in a interesting time were the laws of music and copyright are blurrier than ever because of technology, and its up to the beatmakers/producers to set up their own rules and regulations when it comes to using their beats and or loops/samples.
50/50 with the point of view of selling loop packs. If someone pays $20 for a loop pack and it's NOT royalty free, 9/10 times there probably won't be a placement and if anything the user of the loops could make a beat and flip it for WAY more money by selling it on beatstars/directly to ppl/etc. So IMO $20 isn't a lot to cough up - whereas a free sample pack that's royalty bearing has a WAY smaller chance of generating ANY revenue for the creator of the sample. Regardless creators of any composition (if published online) are entitled to a share of the copyright in some capacity
Deleted all social media cause it’s a distraction and all I did was compare myself to others. It’s crazy the wonders it did. I am able to be more productive Fr fr and actually drop beats on my beats channel
I get what he’s saying that you should just send loop packs to the people you expect to get placements.... but not everyone can get in contact with big producers, if everyone could just send loops to wheezy all day I’m sure they would. If you make it clear that you should come back to the loop creator to discuss royalties, there’s nothing wrong with that. Loop packs should be looked at as paying for a collab... pay for the collab, split the royalties... that’s fine
I thought I was the only one who thought it was a bit odd that people were charging for loop packs and say its free for everything else except when someone pops off. That’s why I work with producers closely if I need to use loops. Alot of producers just copy and paste information regarding loops and the terms and don’t even know what they’re telling people.
Salute to this dude, had so much to say and made me think sooooo much about this MusicGame, DEF made me ponder about why afew Beatmakers tday are garnering so much props or getting awarded for such small parts in a Song at 37:57
is true about the development of the song, that he's not involved 100% into it, but also using a loop and just trowing a kick and 808 and a snare on the song it doesn't make you neither better.. just making it by yourself I find the best solution.
Dope Episode. But when are you guys going to get Proucers like Erick Sermon, Pete Rock, Easy Mo Bee, Alchemist, Guru, Battle Cat . All these producers are pretty much Legendary and Iconic.
He's rt the industry is getting super saturated the life span of producers and rappers are now getting very short for the one producer that falls off there are 10 thousand new ones behind

@@TrillCarteljay not true.. because everything isnt equal!! If I make the drums bass main melody and play keys and you add percussion.. your input isnt worth 50%! There is nothing wrong with asking for a spilt that is true to your in put... if you want to use your logic.. me saying change that snare sound is worth an equal spilt... c'mon
@@jeanlegrand that still doesnt mean input id equal!! We must understand this... variety of things could influence their decision... but we have to understand songwriting
