My cardstock isn't as bad and I even compared it with some indie decks I have (which I paid WAY more for) and they felt the same, I will agree however, that Hay House has some of the thinnest card stock. I wonder if at this point with printing costs and paper costs going up if that has anything to do with what we are all getting now. Next time you go to purchase a Hay House Deck, check their website first to see if they are running sales. Right now they are running 50% off some of their decks and have Amazon's prices beat big time :) (we could all use a little bit of savings for sure)
I have the bordered Enchanted Map and the Mystical Shaman. Card stock not the best, but I figure they are cheap, so I can't complain. Hay House has good sales, so I got a few decks recently. Maybe you can do a video on your best Shamanic decks. (Audio was quite low)
Yes, the new Isis Oracle has the matte cardstock. I got it off Amazon and I got it in the new cardstock. Mother Mary Oracle has also been reprinted with matte cardstock but ordering directly from Blue Angel would be a good idea for that one, since it's a very recent reprint.
Hay House has stooped using gilding for an environmental reason I believe but I was hoping the card stock wouldn’t change. That’s disappointing. I have both the old and the new and I love the borderless but appreciated the card stock from the old deck. She also made card name changes and some picture changes to be inclusive. I seem to remember something about the word “tribe” being removed and replaced with a different word to be more sensitive to communities where that word is used to describe traditional society/communities. 🌺
@The May Queen you're right, it's hard to please everyone. for example I think you are lucky to have the cards with that finish because I think that the difficulty of shuffling decreases with use while my communication skills and sensitivity improve with this matte ending. For this reason Thank You for the info.
My Hubby got the Isis Oracle off amazon about a year ago now and the card stock is Matte and I was shocked. Its one of my favorite decks and on my list to upgrade my copy.
I don’t know about the Isis Oracle, but they seem to be revamping the decks at Blue Angel in this new, matte card stock. I’ve bought both Les Vampires and Foxfire: The Kitsune Oracle by Lucy Cavendish recently, and they were both in that beautiful matte cardstock without borders 💖
This was the deck that led me to your channel all those years ago! It is still a favorite,weirdly accurate deck, and was my first oracle deck after years of only tarot. (I blame you for my collection, Raecine...😃) I'm lucky that borders don't bug me and unless it's glossy like the 90s Universal Waite I don't mind non matte if a deck shuffles well. This new one looks more shiny than the original, so I share your disappointment. Do you know if Colette edited her guidebook for this reboot? Love it borderless, but poor cardstock sucks. I just spent the afternoon re-backing my Faeries' Oracle because it's basically made of paper and I was afraid to use it 🙄

Thanks for doing this video. :) I don't mind cards that have borders, but borderless is much better. Also, the volume is very low.
