I did this from 1995 to 2018; I was an Engine Captain with Humboldt Bay Fire in California. I went out with a blown out knee, a broken back, and c-PTSD at age 45. Even as I watch this video, I wish I could still do the job. If you’re watching this from the station tonight, whether you’re on an engine, a ladder truck, rescue, or a box, keep each other safe tonight, my brothers and sisters. IAFF Locals 652 and 1770
LOVE YA MY BOTHER... '86 I started as an explorer and went on the rig in 1990... Went out this year (just a couple of weeks ago actually). Was injured by two falling 20,000v power lines in 2020 due to an operator's grossly tremendous lack of knowledge... By the grace of God, I lived and was finally released from medical in Oct '22. Because of the politics and the ensuing lawsuit to actually receive the care I was in need of, I cannot get hired anywhere, so I just chalked it up to am thankful for it being a BIG part of God's plan. I lost my blood brother 10 years ago LODD and have lost far too many over the last 37 years. I love the profession and miss the job more than one could know... But I know that this is how it is supposed to be and I am comforted by the fact that I am alive, able to see my family, have learned such a great deal as a result of it all, and love my God... God bless you pal.
@@William_HeathI’m 32 and looking to get started in the profession. I started this when I was 17 but life got in the way. Hopefully all of us our blessed
I was stationed in Oki back in '90-'91 at Camp Hansen and then Camp Foster; weekly we would take the bus to Kadena for the commissary. Ooh rah! From a USMC veteran
Joel. 30 year firefighter from the UK, long retired! Really don't like most of these "tributes". Never worked with anyone who thought they were a hero!! Just doing our job. (Like our brothers and sisters in the front line of medical care in these troubled times). Loved your post, took me right back to mopping down the engine house floor.🚒
God and higher power greater than just myself I have to rely on your hands. Dear God reach to disciple Ian And disciple Jacob God, if they are of your son's disciples please show them to walk with you God. Amen.
