    I found this vid on accident. Cool stuff! To answer your question for hotter climates...i live in Houston so if i don't wait for the later part of the day to detail the car so I wash the exterior in 3 parts, rinsing each part again before i move to the next before drying. Then i use a water blade before drying the entire thing...

    Keep the vids coming. Hey at least they know rain or shine. You come through. I like how you rinse then wash the vehicles. And interior you wet scrub the seats if they need it or the mats. I have seen other car detail vids that lack the 100% you put into your details. Keep up the good work. Ive seen the vid of your garage and I think its awesome and the custom floor💪👌😎

      @TheDetailGeek  5 лет назад +5

      Thanks dude! I’ve definitely thought about running stuff in real time...but the challenge becomes the length of the video! It takes me about 7 hours to do a Full Detail...so it would be really hard to condense all the different steps down to even a 30min vid (at real time). I like being able to show the entire detail, but am definitely open to tweaking things if you guys wanna see different stuff!

    • @tcervenka
      @tcervenka 5 лет назад +3

      The Detail Geek I mean... I’d still watch a 30+ minute detailing video... 😁 they’re almost as therapeutic as actually detailing so it’s nice in my downtime 👍🏼 I realize it’s a lot of editing, but longer view times per video should make it worth it lol always appreciate the uploads 😊

  • @juanmanzano3721
    @juanmanzano3721 5 лет назад +4

    Your videos are awesome man!! How long does it usually take to detail a vehicle and how much do you charge? I'm thinking about starting a detailing business but I'm trying to get some ideas and seeing how much I should charge.

    • @TheDetailGeek
      @TheDetailGeek  5 лет назад +1

      Hey Juan! A Full Detail like what you see in the video would usually take me around 6-8 hours, depending on how dirty it is. Pricing is between $200-250 CAD and then leather cleaning/conditioning or carpet/seat shampooing is extra.
      My recommendation is to look and see what other detailers around you are charging and what type of work they are doing. You know the quality of the work you can do, so then price it accordingly. My one caution would be not to undervalue yourself, or offer discounted prices for too long (to try to grow) because that just hurts the detailing community as a whole in your area. Know your value and charge for it!If you have any other questions feel free to ask!

    I am from India and to buy all that stuff, it would cost me around 800$ (including those cleaning machinery) but I want to do this all my own at my home. So, can you tell if it's really necessary to buy 1 gallon stuff (4 containers- wheel cleaner,mirror glaze,last touch,glass cleaner) ? and can you suggest any machines which are durable enough to use em once or twice in a month and also limited quantities of those chemicals ? and to be simple, can you suggest me the best in and around 200$ ? thank you!

    • @TheDetailGeek
      @TheDetailGeek  5 лет назад +1

      Hey! So it’s definitely not necessary to buy the gallon versions, I think you can find all those products on amazon in smaller quantity for sure, but the pricing may not be as good. To get started I would recommend getting some quality microfiber towels for the paint (and some cheaper ones for the interior), a good microfiber wash mitt, some all purpose cleaner, a few detail brushes, a good wax and maybe some aerospace 303. Im sure you can easily get all that for well under $200

    "Probably looked silly to my neighbors washing a car in the rain" we all gotta make that money somehow, if they're going to be that bothered by it they can just cry about it (clearly you weren't a fan either though since now you wash entirely inside :p)

      I would suggest speaking with the dealership you purchased it from. If they’re the ones who did the work on it that’s a plus too!

    I can't help but notice that you don't power wash the door jams. Any reason why? It saves me lots of time especially on really dirty vehicles

      M R ive never pressure washed the door jams, it honestly slings water a little, plus... i mean if you got mud cakes on sure, but eh. I mean to everyone their own right

    • @tcervenka
      @tcervenka 5 лет назад

      He does spray the door jambs on the really dirty vehicles. And uses the microfiber cloth either damp or with some apc, not dry.
      Definitely agree pressure washing those areas saves time when they’re really dirty.

    Why do people let their cars go to trash. I have a 10 year older truck that is in so much better shape. I don’t think it’s been that dirty before. Maybe it’s just a non-car person thing.
