Thanks for the video, Rob. It’s a nice looking watch. I know you are a self-admitted fanboy, but even so, I still question giving Seiko a pass on qc by saying that a watch that doesn’t line up is not a big deal. For $1,400 I expect a bezel/chapter ring to line up properly. Thankfully this one does.
I’ve been scared to pull the trigger on my first Seiko after hearing so many comments about QC and even their 6r35 movement has pretty bad reviews on accuracy. I’ve had pretty good luck with entry level Swiss watches from Tissot and Mido. But I do want a Seiko….
@@krispybowgod9656 Just buy the watch in person from an AD, you can see if everything lines up and make sure you get a good piece. From my experience, lately the QC hasn't been fine from my experience but some places may carry old stocks. There is nothing wrong with the 6R35 movement, it is not accurate out of the factory but will run within the given specs. Just use the watch for a month and get it regulated from the AD or a watchmaker, its takes few minutes at max and the watch will run +/- 5 seconds or even tighter....good thing about Seiko movements is the easy serviceability. Unlike the movements in Tissot and Mido(essentially same movements) which has to be sent to a Swatch service center, any watchmaker will be ready to work on a Seiko.
Saw this same watch in person earlier this year and the dark green dial and with the wavy texture looked like you were looking down at a lake from a birds eye view. Very nice watch!
Hi Rob. I just realized, that whenever I feel like I need some additional insight on whether or not to buy a certain watch, or need to do some exploration into novel brands and whatnot, I just have to consult with your channel. I 'd like to thank You for your continuous effort!
Picked up the SPB237 “Captain Willard” last week and it’s incredible. Keeping great time and no alignment issues, it’s a real stunner. My Tudor BB36 won’t be seeing any wrist time any time soon.
I know what you mean. My 237 (on black silicone) hasn’t been off my wrist since I got it in March. My other watches are jealous. This 265 is nice though.
That subtle subtle aqua teal is really nice. Way nicer than the default royal blue you see on so many divers IMO. And works great with the little yellow stoplight. I keep thinking these are ~45mm like the Turtles too, so 42.5mm is pretty great too ... thanks for the review RR!
LMAO! "The bezel not lining up isn't a big deal and don't freak out". If my sub $300 Citizens ALL have aligned bezels, I damn sure expect the bezel to line up on a $1400 watch regardless of the brand.
Have this the 1 a few years old doesn't have the prospect sign on it. The one I have mugger resistance. Not going to get stabbed for it . Plus great video 📹
i've had my 051 for a few years now. it scratches the itch for all these newer seiko divers. just compare the indices on the 051 to these newer ones, they definitely are cutting corners.
I recommend you take a look at the SPB297 , I actually bought mine from Exquisite Time Pieces and the dial is way better on the flesh than the press pictures
I just bought the SPB263 today from Exquisite Time Pieces. This is my first decent watch purchase and I love wearing it!
That is a good looking watch. The dial definitely gives off a subtle, elegant, “pop”. The seventy hours power reserve is awesome!
Thanks, Rob.

This one actually look amazing. The Prospex line is really full of great watches.

Seiko is going crazy with their dials, and i'm all for it
I have an SRPG57 (Penguin feet Antartica Monster), and the dial makes the watch
I just ordered the srpe37 (Save the Ocean King Turtle with Manta Rays) because the dial looks amazing
The Great White Save The Ocean Samurai does it for me - that blue wave pattern is absolutely amazing in natural light 👍
Sharp piece 👍. 💕 that dial 😎

Amazing dial. I need to check these Willard’s out.

Do the hands line up at 12 o'clock? The hour hand on my willard is a little off to the left at 12. Bugged me to no end so I sold it.
Like that dial texture!
Looks great. I think it’d look even better on black silicone.
It's great there sending you Watches!

Looks mint
that is really nice
Getting back into Seiko divers. Just picked up an SBDC051 for about $500 and it's killer.

@@jh-il5sb totally agree
The ice diver is definitely the right one

Same dial like the dark manta, but without the two mantas.
Hi Rob, do you reckon it is better to stretch to the 051 or this is just as impressive?
You can get the 051 on the secondary market for around $500. Cheaper than these and better quality as well.
Bezel doesn't line up on mine typical Seiko 🙄
Manta willard would off been awsome
Sadly it's a US exclusive :(
🌹👌
If only seiko spent a little more r&d dollars on improving the 6R movement as they do on their watch faces.
If the Casio Duro bezel can line up, there is zero excuse for Seiko not to line things up on every piece
I like all these but RRP is so steep.. I will be awaiting when it's on the secondary market.. this is a 800 dollar watch max IMO..
there is only one Willard and it is vintage
Before I even press play. Let me guess the MSRP of this new Seiko..... $49,000?
😝
In love w/ the dial
