A beautiful song from a great LP. My favourite ballad from Behaviour is “ Jealousy” though. Much more fantastic songs to come from Behaviour Matt; I guarantee it
Thanks Matt for another reaction to PSB! As I had mentioned on your last one, "To face the truth" is one of my favourites PSB songs. It is so beautiful and great on the soft / slow category. The music and Neil voice are a great duo! But as usual, it is a sad story about the lyrics point of view. I believe "this happens to everyone...to everyone!" 😉 We met somone we fall in love with, but... it is an impossible one!
PSB were always strong in songwriting and production from the very start, but I think that Behaviour is where their songcraft really grew by leaps and bounds, accompanied by Neil’s improved vocals. It’s also where some of the music critics (at least in the US), who had previously dismissed them as gimmicky and superficial, began to take notice and appreciate them as a musical force to reckon with, even as their commercial presence on the charts began to diminish.
What is worse, having suspicions or learning the truth, especially if, for you, your lover is "the only one." The stripped down setting of the music is perfect for a beautiful, sometimes weeping, vocal from Neil. Electric and later acoustic piano, along with the syncopated rhythmic elements. The song is just so lovely and emotional.
Looking forward to the reaction to the next track from the album "How Can You Expect to Be Taken Seriously?", one of my favorite pet shop boys songs, album version only.
One of their most beautiful and heart-breaking ballads of all time! Love everything about it! (P.s., on a side note, hope you didn’t forget L. Minelli’s album in parallel, Matt? Cheers!😉)
Two songs on this album are not as good as the other eight on this album. That doesn't mean they're bad but not as good as the rest. This song is in the good site

I believe I read years ago, that working with Dusty Springfield, changed his approach to vocals
I love Neil’s vocals on this song. Such a beautiful track! ❤

I listened to this after I had a similar situation and it used to really hit home and help me realise i was better off without him

It's still my favourite PSB album, with Introspective close behind.
Although Liza Minelli's Results trumps them all
I am generally not inclined to listen to ballads, only because I prefer upbeat music. But that said, I have to admit that this is superb.

Such an intimate disclosure.
Great track from one of my old-time favorite albums. Hey I love your banter before the song just right
This track and 'The end of the world' might be my favorite tracks from the 'Behaviour' album.
I love the arrangements.
I always thought End of The World has a similar drum pattern to Madonna's Vogue.
Quite a lot recorded in my home town; Glasgow. Neil said this was their "put the end of a song at the beginning" phase.
One of my favorites of PSB

Yo! I promise I didn’t forget, I just ran out of time. But Liza will come in the next couple days. Cheers!
