  • "Such silence I have never experienced in the Görlitz theatre. 90 minutes of spellbound amazement. Seeing. Hearing. Feeling. The power, the beauty of simplicity versus superfluity.
And thus this piece is also exemplary for our time, our country, our region. Sometimes it's a question of bare survival. And the question: What is our money good for?
Thanks to the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Theater Görlitz-Zittau and its dance company under the direction of Dan Pelleg and Marko E. Weigert. The standing ovation is a sign of a growing modern and open-minded dance audience. To muster patience and love for this over many years is not something to be taken for granted." / Mike Altmann, 14.04.2024 - 09:42 am

In a world where flawlessness is idolized, some strive for unachievable perfection: we want the perfect body, the perfect wardrobe, the perfect interior design, the perfect job, the perfect wife or husband.
The advertising industry tells us that people will look down on us if we're not always with the latest and most fashionable trends. Imagine what people would say if they saw us in public in a shirt with a frayed hem or trousers with a faded spot or an unfashionable haircut or driving a car with a dent on a door. Broken, old, unfashionable things must be thrown away and replaced with something new and fashionable.
Wabi-Sabi comes from the deep realization that the roots of joy and suffering lie in whether you can accept the transience of life with grace. Embracing the ever-present cycles of growth, decay and renewal allows for living in harmony with the rhythms of nature.
Instead celebrating mass-produced products you might appreciate the history of an object and the craftsmanship behind it. Instead of hiding your age behind cosmetics you might see the beauty of age in others - and in yourself. You may find true joy in keeping old things that you already own as they are, despite the traces that the passage of time has left on them, or in repairing them and loving that everyone can see that they are not new.
It might get easier to appreciate the beauty of simple objects in the natural world around us, easier to live mindfully and gratefully.
    You might even find happiness.
