Hi, I’m Steve, a travel reviewer from Scotland. Join me on my adventures as I discover my own country, often visiting places for the first time, so hopefully it's as much of an eye-opener for you as it is for me! Don't expect expert opinion, just a very honest journey of discovery. Sometimes featuring my intrepid sidekick Alicja, sometimes featuring adventures beyond the borders of Scotland. Enjoy!

“Not after what they did to their staff”… top man
I've done this trip lots of times and it never disappoints. You give a very good representation of the journey, Steve. It really is a relaxing, hassle free way of travelling.
It's rare for me to arrive at a destination feeling so relaxed! Love it Jane!
Hi Jane, glad to hear that you like the service and we look forward to welcoming you back onboard again soon !!! 😀😀😀
Glad to hear you support the P&O workers. I stopped getting the Cairnryan to Larne crossing, even though it’s more convenient for me, and started getting the Stena Line to Belfast.
Good on you Graham!
Here's a similar one we did. After the boring flight to Vancouver, it was a coach which went on the ferry to Vancouver Island, then back on the coach to Victoria BC. The driver actually asked what hotel we were staying at, and took us there.
Up in the morning to get the float plane to Seattle for a family reunion. Pretty magic, coach and boats and planes.
Superb mate, would love to do that!
BC and Vancouver Island in particular is such a beautiful place. I have family there and never tire of visiting them.
@@derekbryce2632 It was a magic trip. Mind you, all the luggage had to fit in a DeHavilland Beaver float plane - best bush plane ever - so we didn't have much. My family is in Seattle. Not far away so Vancouver is pretty familiar.
@@chrissaltmarsh6777 haha I know the feeling! I flew the Harbour Air seaplane service from Victoria to Vancouver harbours once and got to sit in the co-pilots seat … I guess they don’t need one on a flight so short. I’m just back from BC and flew s larger (but not that much!) Pacific Coastal Airlines Beachcraft from Penticton to Vancouver which my brother in Victoria likens to sitting in a VW van being tossed skywards by a giant slingshot! 😂Fantastic part of the world indeed. 🇨🇦 🇺🇸 ✈️
@@derekbryce2632 The islands to Vancouver Island remind me of the Wertern Isles of Scotland (I live on the East). Morning and mist - you're off with the faeries.
But also the wee prop-planes. A lovely part of the world.
Found your channel through "the algorithm" and am really enjoying your back catalogue. Fantastic camerawork, editing and music choices and stunning locations with calm, relaxed and informative narration. It's made me want to explore Scotland, NI and the islands more - you're certainly doing the locations justice with your videos and capturing their vibe really well. Thank you Steve!
Hey thanks so much Mark!
I agree, Mark. I love Steve's music choices.
Great journey that……far less hassle👍🇮🇲💪
Aye, I want looking forward to it, but by the end I was like ‘sign me up!’
Same with me Steve when I hop on a ferry to go to Alba. I drop my bags in the cabin and head out to the deck and reflect on the start of a lovely vacation with a wee dram
The travel part is very much part of the trip eh!? Love it
I am constantly amazed at the excellent travel links in the UK.
Aye, some beauties there and still more to discover :)
Absolutely staggering building that
Steve Marsh's videos are a no-nonesense delight. In the top 3 of those to which I subscribe.
Wow, thank you!!!
That was another dose of escapism from the drich weather that caught up with Cologne! 🤗 I might actually brew a tea and re-watch. A lovely video! 🙏
Hey that would be super appreciated :D
Hi Steve, I only discovered your channel this morning, and by this evening it is my absolute favourite channel on RUclips. So much content to watch ... after a few more days of viewing pleasure I'll suggest some more "Northern Ireland" adventures for you. In the meantime - THANK YOU!
William, welcome aboard! So glad you found (and enjoy) my wee channel! Thanks so much :)
Hi Steve...wow....so many " double decker" buses ! Both in Ireland, and Scotland.
They are a bit of a rarity in Australia. I tend to see then only on Skybus routes. ( Skybus routes tend to connect larger airports with the closest CBD)
Love all the seagulls perched on the bow of the ship .
Did I see correctly that the drivers drive those trucks on one end of the ferry...and when they get to their destination, they drive off the other end ?
Wow you know roughly how many trucks and buses it can hold ?
I presume cars are on another deck..
I makes one realise just how big and tough these ferries really are !
Such lovely weather for you too .
You make such a great point about the drive on/drive off - you know I didn’t even think about that! Will need to research it a bit more 🤣
@@steve-marsh
LoL 😂....I only noticed because you did such a great job filming from the front seat !😂
hi heather they are called RORO ferries roll on, roll off designed so ships do not have to take ages offloading and reloading faster turn around. hey did you spot the huge great double axel coaches right in distance at coach station, they are called Metroliner style coaches, some have toilets, some have sleeping pods and a bar even. great for a band tour couch when you hit the big time.
@@steve-marsh ro-ro fellies!
The Tasmanian ferries out of Melbourne & Sydney to Devonport in Tassie are RO RO ferries . You enter from the Front in Melbourne and exit from the back in Devonport in Tasmania . That can be a very rough crossing too particularly around the the heads near Melbourne
Steve the sea coach was very kool great scenery sunny day and you got a little sleep (and some fish and chips) . Your right glad the bus driver knows his job👍And home again Thx Steve😘
Ah Linda it was such a relaxing trip, loved every minute! Thanks for coming along :)
The scenery between Stranraer to Glasgow was great.
And such a relaxing way to enjoy it - normally I drive so it was great to sit back and take it all in :)
As an ex P&O crew member thank you for your support on your channel.😊👍⚓☘️🇮🇪
What a GLORIOUS day for travelling!
Makes the filming a lot easier mate!
Thanks so much again Steve, I love travelling and sightseeing with you.. I still get a kick out of seeing all the double decker busses.. cheers Julie in South Australia 🇦🇺 🥰
Ahh I had no idea, I’ll need to do some more double decker adventures :)
@@steve-marsh oh thanks Steve, I have never even been on a double decker bus 😭
Excellent video I didn’t even know you could get a bus from Belfast to Glasgow 👍 thanks Steve
I was totally unaware of this one as well mate!
Really enjoyed the video, Steve. Very professional indeed. Well done! Ps As an "aviation" aficionado, would love to see more journeys around Scotland and all the islands. Many thanks
Cheers mate! Ahh I'm ALWAYS online looking for cheap flights :)
It came over looking a relaxing experience. 😂
Sure was mate! :)
Thanks for doing all your RUclipsing Steve and alicja when she is around
Great video Steve… A number of firsts for me… I lived just outside Belfast for a time, but I’d never seen inside City Hall - looks fabulous. Didn’t even know you could get a coach from city centre to city centre - that’s really useful. And the price seemed good too… Thanks for sharing.
Cheers Scott! An interesting discovery for me too :)
Retired Coach driver, enjoyed your vid as I used to do a duplicate service for Ulster Bus back and forth from Glasgow to Cairnryne. Loved the folk from NI.
Superb! Thanks for the comment :)
Woah got here super early! Loved the view at the start! From what I’ve seen so far it’s going to be another brilliant video!😊
Hey Morgan 👋 have a great weekend :)
Another great video. I’ve done this route the other direction before but with Scottish Citylink where the coach doesn’t actually go on the ferry and you connect to a local bus at the Belfast end, meaning you have to transfer your bags. This service looks better. Great trip, as you say, especially on a nice day. I’m just home from Canada and last week I travelled on a very similar service from Vancouver to Victoria on the BC Ferry Connector, which is also a through coach/ferry/coach service using the same bus. A very relaxing way to travel. The driver from Vancouver was telling me he’s amazed more people don’t use it over there. I guess people really like their cars.
Hi Derek, yes, the fact that our coach goes with you the whole way is such an important part of our service and why so many people use it. We handle the check-in process as well so passengers don't have to worry about that either and can sit back and relax. 🚌🚢🚌☺
Cheers for sharing another route I'd love to try Derek! And yes, relaxing is the word! :)
Did this trip with my daughter in 2019. Was good, but she discovered she gets seasick on the ferry over. She was not happy with the journey (LOL). Was nice to get to watch the countryside go by once in Scotland.
Another great video Steve.....what a really cool system this is of bus/ferry/bus.....looks like a lot of fun & a nice relaxing day! Thanks again for taking us along to enjoy all of these new adventures that we didn't know existed!
Cheers Bob! Aye, relaxing sure is the word for this one :)
Forgot all about this route in NI. It's extremely handy even for the students to board and the shoppers.
We have all types of guest using the service form students, city breaks, visiting family and friends, etc. One interesting statistic is the 1 in 4 of our guests are travellers from outside the UK & Ireland - since the start of this year we have had guests from over 100 different countries outside of UK & Ireland!!!
Aye very good point! :)
Great videos as always comments from Australia you got following Steve, journey's are an eye opener, some of us are unable to travel however your travels take in places of discovery
Glad to hear it, thanks so much :)
Great video of country to country travel before I head into work today
Thanks Steve, really enjoy your presentation style.
Thanks so much Kenny!
Thanks to this video we made this relaxed journey last week whilst visiting from Australia. Love your work.
Awesome video Steve👍 I love that trip along the west coast, stunningly beautiful👌Unusual to see queues at the Kingston Bridge😜
Haha it sure was a surprise 🤣
Superb video! I like buses, it looked like so much fun 🚎💨
Biased I think 😊

I would never have thought of that route!
Me neither until recently! :)

You’re most welcome Richard!
That was wonderful! Thank you!
That looked like an awesome day Steve. Bus train much better than plane. I enjoyed the break down of prices trip, food. Keep ‘Em coming

Thanks so much Tim!
Great video Steve. Very relaxing with great scenery
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks!
We get great feedback about the beautiful scenery from our international travellers using the service - on a good day like Steve had it is hard to beat. Some passengers have even commented that the Ayrshire coast drive is better than many scenic tours they have been on!!! Ailsa Craig ⛰is a particular highlight 😁😁😁
So many beautiful places you show us. Many thanks. And the interesting rides.
You made me feel as if I was there!!.. looked very relaxing !!.. thanks again Steve !!
Cheers for coming along mate :)
I would definitely do this trip. Thanks for the great, informative video!
Cheers Barbara!
Stumbled across you and your Rathlin video yesterday, as a Belfast native it's so lovely to see someone enjoying our wee part of the world so much! Must get over to Glasgow again soon, that coach option sounds like a great bargain!
Cheers Hannah! :) Already looking forward to another trip over soon :)
Really great video Steve, I'm definitely up for that journey, looked so relaxing, I will pester hubby to take me now lol Thank you for taking us on another of your smashing adventures x👍
Cheers Isobel! It's a super relaxing journey, and makes the travel bit a nice part of the whole holiday :)
Another Brilliant video Steve, It is a journey I would take. Thanks for the tips and travel guide. We had a look around Belfast City Hall in 2013. It was great.
such a nice journey, thanks Steve!
Thanks Laura!
Another well documented video Steve. Really enjoyed it. One for my list. I've a trip myself coming up soon from Dublin to London by coach and Ferry so cannot wait for that. Take Care. ☘️
Cheers Ryan! Enjoy it mate!
@@steve-marsh thank you my friend, as we say here in Ireland we'll " Keep er Lit"
Steve, just found your awesome channel this week and loving watching your back-collection.. As a Belfast Boy living near Glasgow this journey is something I've done hundreds of times in the last 25 years. What a relaxing way to do the journey between the UK's best two cities. And I loved your comment - I will never us P&O ever again after their managements appalling behaviour. I therefore look forward to doing another trip report across the Irish Sea onboard Stena next time. Keep up the great work. Loving your new series from Norway.
Wonderful! Great weather too!
Aye sure does help Barbara :)
It looks alike a great way to see the countryside, plus spend some time on the water. I would enjoy this type of travel.

I love the song, "I'm Coming Home." Wonderful video...again. I started my morning with this wonderful journey. Thanks, Steve! Merry Ann from Minnesota
Aw you're so welcome Merry Ann :)
love the vid as always Steve
Thanks so much James!
I used to do that journey a lot with ulsterbus when I was a student at Strathclyde about 25 years ago. The price was much the same back then.
Ah a familiar route!
Convenient and smooth ride on ferry and excellent scenery 😊 watching out of the window like this: 😮 (in awe)
Hi Steve, The videos keep getting better!!
Cheers Chris! Appreciate it :)
Great Video As Always Steve
Cheers Paul!
Extremely clever, convenient, and stress-free method of getting from Belfast to Glasgow. Well done, Steve! 👍

@@steve-marsh the weekend has been made better by the arrival of your video, down to the Gold Coast on Sunday to catch up with an old mate and to have lunch at one of the pubs down there. cheers and all the best to you and Alicja. Cheers.
Absolute moments of brilliance in this video! What a perfect day for the camera. Thank you for your effort.👍😎🍺
Thank you SO much! Yeah, the good weather makes it all very photogenic!
@@steve-marsh really thoughtful editing too! 👏🏻👏🏻
Cracking video as always, Steve. Also, bang on for calling P&O out on their disgusting behaviour towards their staff.
FYI we partner exclusively with Stena Line for the ferry crossing.
Cheers Duncan! Aye, I'll avoid those chancers at all costs!
Cracking video Steve looks like a cool journey and experience. Thanks for sharing. Puck
Cheers Puck!
Brilliant service. Never knew it existed!
As usual great video from you
Great stuff Steve, you always deliver, thank our friend, from me in Irvine 🤗🤗
Thanks Grace :)
Brilliant Steve, really enjoyable. Cracking shot of Carrickfergus Castle. You got the weather for it.
Cheers mate!!! The weather makes the filming so much easier eh!
Master of transportation does it again. I'd agree this is a good way to get from point A to point B. Plus the food is better. View's, scenery looked great on the big TV. Take Care!
Cheers Frank! This sure is the way to go for me :)
How cool! I am planning to do this in a few weeks!
Superb Tammie! Enjoy! It sure is a relaxing way to travel!
I like all your videos; this was no exception.
Cheers Kevin mate!
This looks a great way to do the journey, comfortable. I doubt I'll ever do it now but I love doing your trips with you guys! Thanks for what you do, always entertaining, beats TV (I don't have one).
I don't have one either these days!
This is a nice way to travel. After watching your videos I planned to travel this way . So beautiful from the bus to Glasgow 🤗
Lovely views of beautiful south Ayrshire and the Clyde estuary.
What a lovely journey Steve, and the added bonus of driving all through Dumfries and Gallaway, one of my favourite places.😊
Great value and a pleasant wee boat trip and drive. I'd do it👍
Cheers Michael! A really relaxed and fun wee trip!
Looks like a great idea! I didn't know this option existed, but I may just use it on my Scotland trip. There's a friend in Belfast I'd like to visit while on my journey across the Atlantic, and it would be cool to see the Rory Gallagher statue too.
This is a great way to travel, have a great trip when it comes :)
Thanks for the inspiration! Just took the Hannon Coach/Stena Lines ride to Glasgow. Great trip. Nice boat ride, then beautiful bus ride in Scotland. Perfect way to travel to Glasgow. Your videos are amazing, among the best travel vlogs on You Tube! Thanks again.
Hey so glad you did it!!!! It was one of my favourite wee trips, such a relaxing way to get back to Glasgow
Nice and relax trip. I will try it next summer 👍
Another great vlog, hope all is well, take care

I'm doing this next month can't wait
Enjoy Aidan! :)
@@steve-marsh cheers Steve it's actually Glasgow to Belfast and i have a flight booked home later in the week. Hope you made it back to Montrose, where my hometown team Shotts Bon Accord are playing in the Scottish Junior Cup this weekend!
Looks like a very nice trip. You certainly caught the right day for it.
It was so perfect for filming! :)
Hi Steve really enjoyed the video and totally agree with your comment about P&O ferries. Take care hope you are both well
Cheers Robbie! :) Aye, I'd avoid P&O at all costs!
Sheesh, the bus driver looked like a young kid! Looks like a fun journey!
We get that a lot!!! 😆😆😆We can reassure you that he is older than that and a fully trained and experienced PSV driver 👍👍👍 As Steve say, that drive on to the ferry is only for most confident of drivers...
@@hannoncoach8909, I'm sorry, I hope I didn't offend anyone. My dad & I were two of those people who looked 10-15 yrs younger than our ages, but now at 61, I am the one who is saying how young he looks. He will be thankful when everyone around him looks old and he is the young looking fella in the group.
Cool vid, looks a decent wee journey :) 6:18 Well said Steve, fair play mate.
Cheers Ryan!
It looks nice and sunny day and nice coach and a nice place Belfast and I like the view and places you and your friend and having a laugh every time
Fun adventures :) thanks Elaine !
Like this idea. Traveling Ireland and Scotland next year and thus solves getting between the countries. Thanks
Such a relaxing way to travel David!
Wow...this gives me great ideas Steve. Funny first sunny day on the sun deck.
Cheers Russ!
Need to give this a go. Seen this coach many a time at Glasgow but always thought it only took you to the ferry at Stranraer then you boarded as a foot passenger. Thanks again, Steve
Aye, well worth giving this one a go, much more relaxed than it would seem :)
That looks like a great trip! Would love to do that on my next trip across the pond. Have never been to Belfast.
Cheers Lynne!
