- I’ve been rewatching Avatar The Last Airbender recently for the first time in years, and have been reminded how great of a series it is. The characters, the story, the writing, and music are all simply outstanding. The Tales of Ba Sing Se is one of my favorite episodes, and the scene where Iroh sings this very song I found so moving I had to learn it. This song was originally played on the Koto, (or Guzheng possibly? Let me know) and considering the similarities in timbre of the Banjo and Koto, I thought it would sound great played on the banjo. Wonderful job. The up tempo part added a bit of reprive(?) like someone that is recovering from the grief a bit. It still hurts but they can look back to remember and appreciate the good times had. They still carry the weight of the loss but it is more manageable now.

Feels too fast
Mine is slower than the original. The original is around 125 bpm, whereas mine is closer to 115 bpm. It may feel faster at times because I’m adding some 8th note bass motion which definitely gives some propulsion.
