Hey really appreciate all the advice one thing I would say that wasn’t mentioned is make sure your asking the seller of a show before you started trying to promote your shows in their chats. That may be obvious to most but I was unaware of this and was told in a very kind way that people will report you to whatnot for doing this without permission from that seller. Just wanted to put that out there, thank you again for all the tips!!

Yeah, I am struggling on whatnot. It's not about good deals, but more the imaginary relationships people have in their heads with sellers. I've watched people sell garbage for big profits because people have crushes on them or something.
What you just described is the exact same thing as people who rush out to buy Jordan’s or kardashian products to in some way feel “close” to celebrities. But isn’t it better to support small business of people you enjoy than so POS celebrity?
I find people will spend higher$$ for products depending on the seller. I can sell like products and brands-quality and make less than $10 per item, but if some more popular is selling .. they get 25-30 for the same stuff.
Which means Im not worth as much as other sellers. Its not about what I am selling

Hey man good advice- I’ve been killin me brain trying to find a platform to sell ( large collection of key dates in many different grades). Sounds like you’ve got a good handle on “ the how too” part. I’m definitely looking into them today. Much appreciated!

I’m too nervous to figure out what I would sell on whatnot. I source basic clothing and shoes. I don’t honestly go on the platform enough to understand if that has a place. Your video did make me want to signup though. Great tips Chris!
Basic clothes and shoes are sold on Whatnot everyday. It's not all famous designers, etc...I appreciate the fact there are sellers selling clothing and shoes that I can afford. I'm not a seller so I'm not interested in buying bulk sales but there are some that will buy to resell.
You should try it for at least a month. Plus sizes sell fast and in great demand but the smaller sizes sell well too.

Subbed! One of the most helpful videos for newbies ive seen! One question though. How long before the thrift stores ban customer livestreaming so their employees can sell live in the store? I really dont see them missing out on that opportunity, especially GW (who continually shoots themselves in the reseller foot).
I don’t see it happening anytime soon as they already have a hard enough time keeping employees staffed.

I signed up yesterday for whatnot , posted 13 buyitnows today.. a couple of questions , do you have to run a stream for people to see your buy it now items? and do you have to have items listed to do a stream/auction. I duplicated all my items for auction format too just in case .. you are my third attempt to watch someones tip vid and the only one Ive made it past 30 seconds..Im 4 min in ..keep making vids..now to watch the rest.
Congrats on signing up! You don’t have to do a stream for people to see your buy it now items. To do a stream you can start with no items and “quick list” them while you’re streaming but it’s better to start with some preloaded so you can get the ball rolling. Thanks for watching!
First of all, love your vid and tips. I'm just about to get started on Whatnot and I was thinking about streaming with a camera that I could wear on my head to show the products. Any advice on what would be good? Looked at gopros but a bit pricey. Thanks to you and anyone reading this for any advice.
Instead of in your head they make phone holders that go around your neck to allow for the same type of filming

Awesome vid great tips ! --> RE: TIP 5 So I was in a stream and someone else promoted another person's auction in the chat and everyone including the host said that was not allowed and against the rules.. this was just a couple days ago, did the rules change with that ?
You can’t spam a chat with promo but if the host says it’s cool you can. We allow anyone to promote and we also encourage people to block and not support people who don’t let people promote lol.
