Judges: It tastes like coal. "Disappointed blood cinnamon rolls didn't taste like blood and bugs sausage didn't taste like bug" Evil Eugene: I'll take that as a win.
Keith really is so kind. In every episode this season, he has asked each of the other guys if there’s anything he can do to help lessen their stress when they’re freaking out and that’s so awesome to see even though they’re competing!
Also in the pie episode that he ended up winning, he actually got really discouraged and it was Eugene that helped him and psyched him up enough to try again and win the episode. That was also very sweet.
Honestly, where was this version of Jonny Cakes back in the Birthday Cake episode? And I really would love to see Jonathan Van Ness on a different episode. Having someone from Queer Eye judge was just amazing. Ann Reardon from How to Cook That and Babish from Binging with Babish should also appear too.
Fun fact the Witch's house from Hansel and Gretel was actually the start of the sensation that is Gingerbread House's so the fact that Eugene used that story for the inspiration behind his Gingerbread house was wrath amusing from a historical standpoint.
i love this episode because jonny finally shows appreciation for keiths creativity and gives him credit where its due !!! i think he was robbed from a win because even if eugenes is visually impressive, keith made a windmill and a whole charcuterie board with a clear and readable vision!!
that’s what never did sit right with the judges for me - Keith’s inventions, while not digestible sometimes, are incredibly creative and the amount of actual engineering going into them is huge. like I’m never gonna get over the silence during the cake episode when his upside down bowl cake came on. I feel like the judges’ reactions (especially ro’s, not to hate because she’s very sweet but very mild) are always so underwhelming. wish we got Jonny on more war episodes and I’m so glad he was in this year’s season as well, he’s so refreshing
Yea and the reasoning that Keiths gingerbread didn't taste much, but Eugene's tasted only like coal, so I'm very confused on how they did come to that conclusion!?
@@ThomasMershevski Towards the end of the deliberation, Ro and Johnny both say that the taste of Eugene's was growing on them and they ended up enjoying it while they still found Keith's bland/tasteless. Eugene’s mom announcing the divorce on Christmas speaks to my soul. My parents woke my siblings and up at 3am on Valentine’s Day to announce their divorce so like biggest mood
I'm over here wishing my parents would have divorced due to their massively toxic and abusive relationship affecting the entire family but they are instead celebrating 40-50 years of misery. Life is strange
Damn wtf. My parents didn’t tell me lmao. My dad just moved out and my mom got a restraining order and I found out on my 9th birthday when he got arrested for showing up at my party. 😅 *Emotional damage* 😂 Parents tend to miss the mark on these things lol. Though I will say, Keith’s response to it made me laugh.
I imagine telling jamie's mom 'we are going to feed your son some balls' would be troublesome. surprisingly I don't think he used alcohol. Also Jamie has school
Ehhh, I really do not like Jaime as a judge as much, since he is a kid he is more used as a comedic relief than a legitimate judge, yeah he is adorable and funny but I far prefer judges like jonny cakes, he knows his stuff and he is a thousand times funnier because he is knowledgeable about what they are judging I lowkey grew quite fond of the asian chef guy tho, I think his name is Roy Choy, oh yes Roy Choy, he has always been my favorite along with Jonny cakes and ro
Jaime isn't a very good judge especially for food things where alcohol is involved since he is a kid. I much prefer people with expertise like Ro, Josh, And the chef's they've had on.
@@NinjaJoanie I faaaar preferred him as a contestant than a judge tho, he is hysterical in the donut episode, if they are ever going to add one more try guy, kwesi would be perfect he is funny and the guys have said multiple times that there should be a black try guy lmao

Personally it is scary to me how angry he gets here just because something burned in the oven. Imagine how he must reacted when is affaire got exposed. Considering how little he regards his wife as a human and how little empathy he seems to have i can picture him not even considering Ariels pain of having a cheating husband and be like ‘ye but MY LIFE is fucked up now’. Knowing how considerate ariel she might have gone along with is pity chase and accepted to stay with him like ‘not everything i ruined’ Thats a really messed up toxic picture of their relationship i hope its not really like that…
Zach design was the simplest. Ned made solid effort but it wasn't great. Keith was amazing but so was Eugene's the judges where fair. both Keith and Eugene's could realistically be sold in a shop Zach and Ned's wouldn't be. it's just the facts.
As a pastry chef, I was SHOCKED Zach actually did the whole process really well. From the ingredients, baking, thickness of the dough, putting it together, etc. I’m seriously impressed with how far he’s come in these competitions
He just had to go and make the best tasting food he has ever made (and probably will ever make) on Without A Recipe... On something that is only optional to eat.
It's one of the funniest RUclips moments ever, especially seeing their friendship start to get deeper over the years 🤣 it's sooooo perfect when Johnny stops caring in episodes he is HILARIOUS
Before judging I didn’t realise they were blurring all the houses to prevent spoilers, I just thought they were really concerned about the phallic nature of ned’s house 💀
"The cardboard is I, I am the cardboard." "If you don't like me at my cardboard you don't deserve me at my edible" Truly inspiring words from our boi Zach before the new year
I firmly believe that Zach deserved better than this, Ned's was literally burnt and personally I don't think the execution was there. this message is sponsored by the Ned hate club.
@@ananyarayaprol I think the problem that they had with Zach was that almost all of his decorations were not edible, meaning that he essentially took the easy way out for the decorations. I agree that it looked better than Ned's but he did not have to make his own decoration while the other guys did so that takes down the difficulty level quite a lot.
When he yelled Team Eugene he made my day. I feel like he got 1.5 place because he helped Eugene. I definitely think Eugene deserved the win because like Bobby said his house was a work of art, but Eugene could not have done it without Keith and we love friends supporting one another!!
why am I legitimately heartbroken Keith did not get first place lmao… Like the reason was that his tasted bland but tHEN COAL CAME FIRST??THIS MAN WAS ROBBBEDD. This is Keith’s villain origin story
Even though Eugene’s tasted like coal, the judges eventually liked it and said it tasted more like a gingerbread house than Keith’s. But it is sad that Keith lost with an incredible design
When they finished I noticed the blurred out spaceship and I was like, “man they really went full out on the phallic joke”. Then I notice the others blurred out and I noticed it was just my mind that took the joke that far 🤣
keith really outdid himself this episode, eugene's was great too. honestly everyone's was amazing like they all put out pieces of art- ned's narration and story, zach's interactive design, it was all so good.
My favourite part of this season will always be how disturbed yet impressed Keith is by Eugene’s concepts Bro looks disgusted yet turned out a little you know?
Would it actually be scarier if Eugene adopted a Cheerful Eugene persona in next summer's Without A Recipe and make all his dishes only bright and colorful while presenting them with only a big bright smile to the judges
I still love this moment: "If you're a novice ginger bread house maker, I recommend keeping your design simple." Cut to Keith. "Miniature golf course!"
the way eugene manages to fail successfully all the time is honestly impressive because him having an extra dry ingredient (charcoal) cancelled out the excess of butter he added later
Eugene: ",but my mother announced to us that she was leaving my father.. On Christmas morning" Keith: "Dang.. You must've been a bad boy that year" Someone: "Keith?!" Keith: "What? How am I supposed to respond to that?!"

DO YOU WANT A PIE SLICER?!???!!
Also in the pie episode that he ended up winning, he actually got really discouraged and it was Eugene that helped him and psyched him up enough to try again and win the episode. That was also very sweet.
This was the best judging panel ever 😂
“F*ck you too”
“Once we investigated, it was just clued onto foam”
And thr end hahaha the winner will change the world
Honestly, where was this version of Jonny Cakes back in the Birthday Cake episode? And I really would love to see Jonathan Van Ness on a different episode. Having someone from Queer Eye judge was just amazing.
Ann Reardon from How to Cook That and Babish from Binging with Babish should also appear too.

Fun fact the Witch's house from Hansel and Gretel was actually the start of the sensation that is Gingerbread House's so the fact that Eugene used that story for the inspiration behind his Gingerbread house was wrath amusing from a historical standpoint.
wow!
just as rosanna said, does he even understand his genius?
Eugene "Hansel and Gretel must die."
Zack and Keith...shocked faces of horror.
Ned....claps like a proud parent!!

I think we all need to recognize the real Holiday miracle here: *ZACH GOT THE BEST TASTE.*
YESSS we’re not talking about this enough but for the first time Zach had the best FLAVOR and his still lost
@@jocelynmanu5167 Zach also made the best tasting brownie.
YES SAME (especially since I've been on a binge and still think in horror about his first bakes)
RIGHT I can’t believe he finally got it and still lost I was rooting for him I gave him first place 💀
Yesssss our big boy
i love this episode because jonny finally shows appreciation for keiths creativity and gives him credit where its due !!! i think he was robbed from a win because even if eugenes is visually impressive, keith made a windmill and a whole charcuterie board with a clear and readable vision!!
that’s what never did sit right with the judges for me - Keith’s inventions, while not digestible sometimes, are incredibly creative and the amount of actual engineering going into them is huge. like I’m never gonna get over the silence during the cake episode when his upside down bowl cake came on.
I think they loved both of their designs by a far margin but what set them apart was the taste aspect.
@@ThomasMershevskiBecause they couldn’t taste the ginger, they literally said that if they tasted it without knowing it was supposed to be gingerbread they wouldn’t know.
@@ThomasMershevskiwell it’s reasonable since he accidentally did something genius that stayed on theme but Keith’s was definitely more creative, personally I like Eugene’s more just for the looks since it looks like fantasy but Keith’s was something new and creative
Johnny reacting to Keith’s creativity is what Keith has deserved from the beginningggg no judge has ever gotten hype over Keith’s creativity and I LOVE IT! God bless you Johnny

The shock that took over my face as well ass the judges lolol no one expected that
Eugene : “My mom announced she is leaving my father on Christmas morning”
Keith: “Wow… you must be a bad boy then”
The one time it would actually be appropriate to ask if he wanted a hug! 😭😅 Keith was lost
That sounds just like Chandler Bing, with Christmas instead of Thanksgiving.
he's quick witted, he came up with that fast
Funniest and Saddest pet of this episode
I understand Keith.
a response seem needed but no consoling words came to mind, therefore say something with humour, which unfortunately will most likely be inappropriate.
.... which I do often ....
Eugene’s mom announcing the divorce on Christmas speaks to my soul. My parents woke my siblings and up at 3am on Valentine’s Day to announce their divorce so like biggest mood
my parents divorced the day after valentines and that’s only because my mother’s lawyer wouldn’t let her do it on v-day LMAO

Jonny should 100% join Rosanna as a permanent judge with the 3rd spot being a guest judge, I love his commentary and energy
I completely agree, he was hilarious!
1,000%. They could even replace Rosanna and have him be the permanent judge, I’m in love with him
I agree!!
Plus kwesi. Bam!
Me too - he was so much fun this episode!
Eugene: "This is the best panel judging we've ever had!"
Jaime: * sad noises *
I imagine telling jamie's mom 'we are going to feed your son some balls' would be troublesome. surprisingly I don't think he used alcohol. Also Jamie has school
Ehhh, I really do not like Jaime as a judge as much, since he is a kid he is more used as a comedic relief than a legitimate judge, yeah he is adorable and funny but I far prefer judges like jonny cakes, he knows his stuff and he is a thousand times funnier because he is knowledgeable about what they are judging
I lowkey grew quite fond of the asian chef guy tho, I think his name is Roy Choy, oh yes Roy Choy, he has always been my favorite along with Jonny cakes and ro
@@_neon-xeon_3966 Kwesi? He’s me favorite!
Keith’s freakout: humor imitating anger
Ned’s freakout: anger imitating humor
Can we please give Keith a "Miss congeniality" price? He has helped every one in one way or another and is always rooting for them.
I agree he deserves to win one he always sacrifices his cooking to help his friends out.
Keith is the guy that wouldn't accept a win if it meant that someone else horrifically failed and he deserves an award for that
I dont think I've ever enjoyed a RUclips series more! This had everything: character arcs, betrayal, childhood trauma, wholesome memories, disaster, evil... but no recipe. Well done guys, defo giving this a rewatch

Ned didn't just burn down his gingerbread. He burned down his marriage
💀💀💀💀
And I op
HAHAHAHA I LOVE THIS COMMENT SO MUCH
Personally it is scary to me how angry he gets here just because something burned in the oven. Imagine how he must reacted when is affaire got exposed. Considering how little he regards his wife as a human and how little empathy he seems to have i can picture him not even considering Ariels pain of having a cheating husband and be like ‘ye but MY LIFE is fucked up now’. Knowing how considerate ariel she might have gone along with is pity chase and accepted to stay with him like ‘not everything i ruined’ Thats a really messed up toxic picture of their relationship i hope its not really like that…
Sadly, i heard this is around the time when the affair started. I read somewhere it was Dec 2021 while on a work trip.
Keith is the sweetest and most helpful sweetheart ever. "TEAM EUGENE"
(But Keith and Zach were cheated, man)
Zach being 4th felt criminal
Zach design was the simplest. Ned made solid effort but it wasn't great. Keith was amazing but so was Eugene's the judges where fair. both Keith and Eugene's could realistically be sold in a shop Zach and Ned's wouldn't be. it's just the facts.
@@majormana1 Eugene's did taste a lot like coal though so tastewise keith would have won over Eugene but they werent really judging on taste.
@@Girigo94 Eugene's tasted like coal where as Keith's tasted like nothing.
I feel like ned should've gotten 4th but that is just what I feel but Eugene had the best one HANDS DOWN to me.
As a pastry chef, I was SHOCKED Zach actually did the whole process really well. From the ingredients, baking, thickness of the dough, putting it together, etc. I’m seriously impressed with how far he’s come in these competitions
From barely edible to good food Zach has come a long way
yess!! and considering that he had never done that beforee, it was really greaat im so proud of himmm
And he still didnt win😂
Ikrrr
He just had to go and make the best tasting food he has ever made (and probably will ever make) on Without A Recipe... On something that is only optional to eat.
Keith's "Guess you were a bad boy that year." has the same energy as Zuko's "That's rough, buddy."

And Ned’s was a big ol dick… just like what did all his thinking
The whole Phalic shaped thing made me think of Death to Smoochy when he tells the kids the cookie shaped like a Dlck is a rocket ship 🚀
Adorable little Ro in her cupcake dress going “WOW” at Eugene’s black, gory, gothic, horrifying house is what this show and holidays are all about.

Keith helping Eugene and then yelling “TEAM EUGENE” despite being his competitor is the dictionary definition for good sportsmanship. 🥺💕
When he yelled Team Eugene he made my day. I feel like he got 1.5 place because he helped Eugene. I definitely think Eugene deserved the win because like Bobby said his house was a work of art, but Eugene could not have done it without Keith and we love friends supporting one another!!
after that joke about him being a bad kid I feel like Keith was just damage controling his situation lol

why am I legitimately heartbroken Keith did not get first place lmao… Like the reason was that his tasted bland but tHEN COAL CAME FIRST??THIS MAN WAS ROBBBEDD.

This panel of judges was fuckin phenomenal. The zingers they got in. Bobby stringing Keith along. Truly iconic
My favourite part of this season will always be how disturbed yet impressed Keith is by Eugene’s concepts
Bro looks disgusted yet turned out a little you know?
I have the feeling that's exactly what Eugene is going for most of the time
Would it actually be scarier if Eugene adopted a Cheerful Eugene persona in next summer's Without A Recipe and make all his dishes only bright and colorful while presenting them with only a big bright smile to the judges
Like Ryan at Watcher?
the mere thought seems horrifying
He should do it for Halloween, I feel like that's something he would do.
should... should we run?
That would get them demonotized
I still love this moment: "If you're a novice ginger bread house maker, I recommend keeping your design simple." Cut to Keith. "Miniature golf course!"
