47 years old, no minivan, no kids and a 2021 model golden retriever who loves me. Glad to see the Party Wave made the honourable mentions. Loved mine at the end of the season here in Australia.
What size golden retriever to you recommend for someone who's 80kg with size 10boot?
@@Ihasfinger911 you sound like a similar size to me. Mine is a 132. That’s a good all terrain size golden.
@@arjanvijselaar534 🤣🤣🤣
@@arjanvijselaar534 I'm glad I read the replies. 🤣🤣
The only downside to the dancehaul is you buy it for a party board, but it becomes your daily driver because it's too good to leave alone. It can screw with the quiver you had planned out.
That's what happened with my Slush Slasher.
Me af 🤣
Good to know. Almost bought one to replace my aging warping. I may now. Quiver killers are my fav after many years owning a lot of boards.
Or buy 2 and now you think you need a third 🤔
You’re the man! Thanks for giving me the heads up on the party board review. Excellent stuff brother, be following again this season. Thanks for all that you do! Let it SNOW
Great list as always! I have been waiting for this top 5 for so long :D
I love my party wave plus! Rips carves, floats pow, rides switch like a dream, 3BT doesn’t feel super noticeable. I maybe oversized mine a bit on the 154 at 170ish lbs but that keeps it super stable when charging. It’s my go-to deck for sure.
The Solomon Dancehaul is also awesome in the trees. I don’t know why but in snappy turns it almost just goes where you want it to go with less effort compared to other boards I’ve ridden in the trees where I’m putting in more effort to make quicker turns to go where I need to go.
Have been running my Dancehaul 157 with Jones skate tech, really fun on the grooms. also like my nitro teams with it as well for more surfing inspired days 😎
Love to see the Dancehaul again on the list. still want to try a party wave for the fun of it.
waiting for the updated list keep up the good work!
Glad to see the Service Dog made it, I love my Stalefish!
Love the graphic on that Nerd board!
💯 Mrs 100% happy with her dancehaul and I'm about to get one for this season.
I bought 2 dancehauls with your links.
Idk about the board but a snow carnie hoody would be dope!
aww man i really want that tony hawk party plater
Bought a 157 Dancehaul last season. It’s not up for sale this season. Enough said. 😊
Thank you for the effort you put in to your videos! Was trying to find where I could join your VIP club but didn't find it on the homepage.
To my question:
I'm 5"11 190lbs size 9 boots.
I got a ride Algorythm and a Korua Pencil and I'm looking to complete my 3 board quiver with a party board that is good in pow. Dancehaul or service dog?
Links are always in the description.
Can't go wrong with either of those, I find the Service Dog has a little better float though.
My Dancehaul has officially retired my Villain. It's really not sketchy riding switch and in my opinion just out performs my Villain in all categories here on the east coast. It's a night and day difference trying to turn on hardpack with its sidecut vs. the terrible quadralizer
Them PBRs be hitting hard at 4:18
Do u have a review in the works for those Salomon district pros?
interesting to see the Warca on here...
DWD Wizard Stick could easily have hit this list. Playful, slays slush, hits park and can get it done in fresh.
Thanks Avran. I now feel my Dancehaul purchase last year is validated. 😂 In all honesty I rode it last year and couldn’t get the hang of it (2nd yr riding) and didn’t like it. This year I brought it out again and bloody love it. It was me that was at fault (more experience needed) not the board.
Hey Angry, any chance there’s a top 5 for twin party boards in the future?
My dancehaul really made my other boards obsolete. So capable and fun
Avran,
So as per my previous comments I went with the 152 Party Platter. Your last review of this was for the 147, so as my stats are pretty much identical to you I'm wondering if I should have got the smaller size. Would I be wrong to assume the 152 will be fine for more all mountain riding (which is what I want it for), with the 147 better for a more freestyle approach? Or am I going to be piloting an ironing board. Thanks.
You're fine, go shred.
Is this a category my jockey-sized friend who is about to end his 20 year snowboarding retirement should look at? He surfs, so cruisy/slashy might be good. Thanks again for all the freeride reccos for him in the last live show.
100%
I used to own last season's Dancehaul. No doubt that it is a party board. I found out funky and weird and agile when I'm on it, hence the term party board I guess. The only thing I didn't like about it is its damping isn't as good compared to my Assassin. The Assassin showed more finesse and landing are well damped. If they can put the damping properties of the Assassin to the Dancehaul, I'd buy one again.
Bought a party platter in 157 after riding my 2009 Burton cruzer in 159w for the past 14 years, I don’t why i didn’t get a new board sooner
How did you stay in character after the “anyways this was the top 5… anyways these were all good options but just barely didn’t crack the top 5” 😂💀
I’d like to pick up the dancehaul this season but not sure of size. I’m 165 lbs and got 10.5 boots. What would be a good size?
47
Utah's been dumped on this year Angry. looking to add a party board to my quiver for riding slush into the summer. was thinking the Spring Break Powder Twin but I also love the specs on the K2 Party Platter. which direction would you go?
You don't want to go more directional?
i like a twinish board but I'm open to a directional ride
I'd go with the Party Platter then.
thanks!
Hey Angry, I was pretty set on getting a party platter as an all mountain board, but now I'm thinking about the dancehaul but a little confused on the sizing. I'm 5' 10", 165, size 9 boot. I know id be a 47 in the PP, but unsure about the dancehaul. I currently ride a 155 huckknife..would I only size down to the 152...or all the way to the 147? Any help would be appreciated dude, I don't trust any other source haha. Would be using it for all mountain east coast, mostly causing groomers and a few park laps. Thank you!
47 all day bud.
@@AngrySnowboarder hell yeah thank you dude. Yeah, it seemed kind of pointless to only downsize 3 cm in length and gain 10 mm at the waist.
Imma smallaz dude ( 120lb size 7 boots) I got the 143 dancehaul, it’s a bit of a boat but it’s fast fun party boat for sure, woofas set to full blast. So yeah short dudes, y’all can do it
Noob question, would party boards be recommended for an intermediate progressing rider (all mountain, getting hold on riding swtich, hitting small jumps...)? Or who this type of board is recommended for?
Thanks!
Directional twin.
I have finally bit the bullet on a 152 2023 doa and it rips, easy board for me to use.
I have a 2022 147 k2 party platter, and should I upgrade this board to the 2023 k2 excavator for more dedicated powder board and groomers later in the day? Is it worth it also 150 or 154. I'm 152lbs and 5'4".
Your call on if you want to upgrade.
@@AngrySnowboarder Do you know a good Ride binding to pair with this board? just picked up the 150
Hi Avran, planning on getting a K2 Party Platter. I’m 190lb, 5’6” and wear a size 8 boot. Debating between the 142 or 147. Which would you recommend
47
I have the dancehaul and party platter and love them both. I totally agree the dancehaul is just a bit better at everything. They really have that thing dialed.
At what size do you have both and how long are the nose and tail of each? I might get one as my one board quiver.
@@EssenceOfTrance I'm 6'1 200lbs and the party platter is a 152, dancehaul is a 157
@@mikemackenzie3305 do you ever wish you got the dancehaul in 152?
@@Gringoloco20 I'm happy with the 157. I might grab this years dancehaul in a 152 just to try it. But then I wonder if it'll feel to soft for me. I'm not a jibber. But I'll tell ya for icy groomers in Ontario canada, some pow and rad dadding in general the dancehaul is amazing. Best money I spent on a board. It's my favorite along with the jones mountain twin. The party platter is good but I'd pick the dancehaul everyday over it
@@mikemackenzie3305 thanks I’ve got a never summer funslinger right now and am looking for a new do it all board and am leaning volume shifted. I’m about 6’ 200-210lbs and kind of want the 52 but worry I’ll be too big, on the flip I don’t think the 157 will be utilizing the volume shift. I’m holding my breath in hopes a dancehaul pro makes a comeback later this year
Warpig Wednesday!
dancehall is replacing my dropout, loved the dropout but the dancehall looks a bit volume shifted and a touch more high end plus some good deals on last years and im a broke seasonier
Hey Angry, looking at the 53 Warca or 51/M Superpig (had a Warpig previously and found it a bit washy on hardpack) as a playful do-it-all party cruiser. Comparable selection, or is the S-Pig a notch up in stiffness which limits its party credentials? Thanks.
No they're similar in flex, I'd say the Superpig is a little more torsionally rigid and the camber is noticeably more backseat.
@@AngrySnowboarder Thanks man. The other option is to say f*ck it and get a Dancehaul for around 40% less. To be honest, cost isn’t really a consideration, so would this be your pick if they were the same price? Yes I’m aware the DH is no.1 on this list, but do wonder about edgehold with the softer flex.
@@AnotherDaveInParadise So the Dancehaul is literally the only board in Salomon's line I never worry about edge hold as it's just a good ole fashioned radial sidecut. That said the Warca has the best edge hold of the three, then the Super Piggie, and finally the Dancehaul.
@@AngrySnowboarder Great insight as always, much appreciated.
@@AngrySnowboarder So after all of that I went with the Party Platter 152. Thought it was the better choice for my old and lazy ass.
Are you going to do a Twin top 5 ?
your top 5 changed from last year but the boards haven't (aside from party wave getting a sintered base this year). did you just get more time on them and change your mind?
So the Warca and Nerd were on the list last year? Slush Slasher didn't even get mentioned.
Was the Rossignol Sashimi even on the radar of this list?
5'10"/ 230 size 10 boot. Thinking 158 dancehaul, 54 might be a noodle? Party platter 52 or 57?
Kind of your call on that.
Have you taken the ampliid dada for a ride? Any thoughts in that?
That is one I have not gotten but keep asking for.
It’s a great board the Dada, I rode it NZ this season and absolutely loved it. Fav board and handles everything, I’ve got a PP also but yet to get on it to compare
I had a quick look at the Dancehaul in a local skate shop the other day. Is it just me or is this party board not all that volume shifted? Seems skinny. Then I went over to the Slush Slasher and it also looks way slimmer than my 2018 version.
Does party board not mean volume shifted anymore? Or am i just high and the widths haven't changed?
New Slush slasher is like an inch slimmer. Dancehaul is volume shifted but tapered so rear foot looks super slim.
@@AngrySnowboarder does that inch slimmer have anything to do with the Slush Slasher not making the list this year? Does it change the ride much?
@@homealone5087 Between adding camber and narrowing it up it's not the same board.
@@AngrySnowboarder I hope you get a chance to review it
@@homealone5087 late to the party there bud ruclips.net/video/zk9UY9U_sM8/видео.html
Do you have a video that explains 3BT and why it’s not for everyone?
Search is hard: ruclips.net/video/xP20YX7nqyQ/видео.html
Do you have some binding recommendations for the K2 party platter?
I do, but you didn't say please.
@@AngrySnowboarder hahaha thanks for the reply
@@AngrySnowboarder could you give some binding recommendations please? Currently thinking about the Rome vice and Salomon hologram.
@@AngrySnowboarder I can get a pair of L/XL Rome katanas for 260 or a pair of M/L vices. I have size 10 feet. Can't decide between the two, it's a great deal on the katanas, but I feel like the katana would be too big. Could you please help me choose?
When buying a board at the end of last season, picked up the Warpig.
Then saw a bunch of Reddit posts & RUclips reviews saying the Dancehaul is better #FOMO
Avrans of the Avranet.
Angry, can you explain to me what exactly a party board is and what kind of riding it entails? Thanks
A board you party on and with.
I heard warping now has a top sheet? What's your opinion on that or are you heavy into rays good old liquor? Gets you some drunk.
Yep no more topless topsheet.
Yo...minivans are awesome, trying to get my wife to get one.
Will it make me a better snowboarder if I bump some dubstep from the Bluetooth speaker in my backpack? Thanks
After being punched in the mouth, I'm sure it will make you a better human.
What about the gnu gremlin
I feel attacked 41. 2.5 kids, dogs suspicious af of me and rolling in a hybrid Chrysler Pacifica
Also you crack into the baby laxatives you are a ball off peppy energy
42, 2.5 kids, dog died while glaring at me and my minivan is 2wd. Just finished up the season with a kegger in the parking lot lol
Me want dancehaul.
… and a dog that hates you!! 😂😂😂
HELP: Warpig vs Psychocandy vs Dance haul , intermediate rider, mostly on groomers, wanna try some pow, have fun on groomers, hit sidejumps, play around the while my girl is progressing to take turns on a board, 177, 200lbs, coming from a Rossi Jibsaw
All of the above.
Getting a nerd and a dancehall
I own the top 3 on this list, I have a problem, therapy here I come.
Retail Therapy? There's 2 more you don't own!
Is Slush Slasher that bad this year that didn't even make it for honorable mentions? Party is what this board should be all about!
It's a completely different board.
Why Yes Warca not Hybrid?
Because.
Love the Hybrid!!! My favorite board so far! I like it better than my Warpig which is also very good. Had problems with the topsheet, too. Would love to try the Warca to compare!
SALOMON DANCEHAUL THE BEST SNOWBOARD EVER MADE
I have the epic pass (I wanna go pro)
Remember to get a leg bag to put those hopes and dreams in.
Dancehaul definitely party’s hard
Very hard, usually with Whiteclaw and any girl who has the middle name Marie.
#GoonrideEarlyRiseLife
Not a single comment asking why not the orca? I will be that annoying fanboy, why not the Orca?
No
