I've been lucky with my jobs in that they have pension plans. Unfortunately, I made a horrible decision when changing jobs about 5 years ago and I cashed out my pension. Horrible decision. I just finished paying off the tax debt from that decision. Never cash out a pension early - no matter how enticing you may find that lump of cash and how well you think you'll manage it.
Also, a boat is absolutely on my retirement purchase plan 🤣 I may have to rethink that. Another great episode.
