    I’m 76yo, and have two restored bikes in my shed, a 74 Dirt Squirt and a 72 Pursang 125. In the work shop is my cx500 cafe bike, my crf250x dirt bike, and a pristine 76 trail 90 I restored for a friend. I don’t need another project.
    But dang brother, your video is giving me the urge to find another old dirt bike to save.
    I think I’d like to do a replica of the DT1 MX I raced 70/71. Lowered frame, webco head, down pipe, the works! Probably the hardest part to find would be the DT1MX badged oil tank.

      @@bullpencycles best thing to do if you don't have it get a brand new spare battery and heavy-duty jumper cables because cold weather will cause you craziness on the van starting other than that you know the rest let the van run warming up for a good half hour before you start going out do not drive in a snowstorm

    Note: The white Montesa Cota 200 was a 175cc engine. The very rare white Cota 125 was pretty much the same bike - the only difference is the size of the jug. Really rare are the White Cota 125s with the Italian markings- which were applied for one year (1982) when Montesa won the 125 Worlds class held in Italy . Very few regular 125s were sold in the US and even fewer with Italian markings.

    Hello Dave, i can't believe that you didn't check out the big fin BSA Goldstar Cylinder Head and Barrel at 10 minutes and 20 seconds into the Video. You should have snapped them up in a heartbeat, they really are hard to find and are worth good money.
    Also the gold and white Triumph gas tank, you should have jumped on that one, very very difficult to source and they will not remake them again as probably not enough demand.
    I can't make out weather it's a 500 or 650 gas tank, but good news either way. If the Indians ever start making them, i will guarantee that they will not fit, the original tanks only just do fit and they were made on jigs, something the Indians won't have and also Gas tank badge screws on the earlier tank up to 1965 have 118mm screw centres and the tank from 1976 and on are 122mm screw centres. Cheers.

    • @bullpencycles
      @bullpencycles  6 месяцев назад

      They tell me that Triumph tank had a dent in it, maybe fixable with a paintless dent guy. I didnt look at it but I missed the BSA head. (And I spent all my money!)

  • @daveco1270
    @daveco1270 6 месяцев назад +3

    I wish I had known about this, I would have driven up there. Would have been worth the 2 hour drive just to nab that gold 1963-65 Triumph 650 tank. I wonder how much they wanted for it. When was this? That BSA raffle bike sign says the drawing is August 2023 but they must mean 2024.
