HIDDEN TRUTHS Who is Paraclete whose name is mentioned in the Bible? HZ. MUHAMMAD (PBUH) IN THE BIBLE 1- (John 14: 16,17): Jesus said; “If you love me, you will obey my commandments. Then I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Paraclete to be with you forever -“ 2- (John 14: 26): Jesus said; “But the Paraclete, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and will cause you to remember everything I said to you.” 3- (John 14: 29): Jesus said; “I have told you now before the Paraclete comes, so that when he comes you may believe.” 4- (John 15: 26): Jesus said; “When the Paraclete comes, whom I will send you from the Father - will testify about me…” 5- (John 16: 7): Jesus said; “But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I am going away. For if I do not go away, the Paraclete will not come to you, but if I go, I will send him to you.” 6- (John 16: 13): Jesus said; “… But when the Paraclete comes, he will guide you into all truth. For he will not speak on his own authority, but will speak whatever he hears, and will tell you what is to come.” 7- (John 16: 14): Jesus said; “… The Paraclate will glorify me, because he will receive from me what is mine and will tell it to you.” The original form of the Biblical expression given above as Paraclete and given as good news by the Prophet Jesus (PBUH) is “Munhamenna” in Syriac and “Periklytos” in Greek. The equivalent word of it in Arabic is “Ahmad”. The Greek expression of Periklytos of the Bible, that is, “Ahmad” exists as “Briklitus” in some sources. As “Ahmad” (PBUH) is a name of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), it is expressed by the Qur’an that His name is “Ahmad” in the Bible. (See. Saff, 61/6) And also all characteristics mentioned above are owned only by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Then, it is the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) who is mentioned as the awaited person in the Bible and given the good news about. Besides, the word “Paraclete” is explained in Biblical interpretations as "the rightful person who will distinguish between the truth and falsehood"; that it, is the name of the person who will lead humans to the truth after Jesus (AS). Can anyone other than Hz. Muhammad (PBUH) who performed this duty more than him be shown in this world?

If a God really wants us to grasp the truth, then why does he let us wander around finding which truth is the objective truth? Why do we have to struggle dissecting every claims, evidence, and arguments if God can just help us find an unequivocal way of knowing his particular truth? If God really is a loving Father who cares and desires for his children to know the objective truth, shouldn’t he be the one responsible clarifying all of this confusion? I have more to say but that’s all I have for now. Responses to my question is more than welcome. Thank you!

Hey Paul, until I started listening to Blogging Theology I had never known what the Islamic beliefs were regarding Jesus ( PBUH ) and the "trinity." And I had no Idea what the Quran said. As a Christian believer, all I ask is for Muslims to try to respect Christians when we discuss such important beliefs ( I notice too many comments that are insults or jokes ). I'm glad I understand more clearly the Islamic beliefs . And I'm finding within myself a desire to "dig deeper" into the teachings and life of Jesus. Peace from Florida

I was raised Catholic. Catechism, Catholic high school, thought of being a nun when I was a little girl. When I grew into a slightly older girl I had questions......but no one had clear answers. This scenario was a common occurrence. Me asking questions.......'Why did God kill Jesus? If Jesus is God's son, why murder your own innocent son? If Jesus is God, then God killed himself?? That can't be right.....who's running the world and stuff when God is dead? But....no one can kill God. Was that a pretend Jesus that God killed? Abraham got a ram to sacrifice instead of his son. Why can't God send another ram to replace Jesus? Jesus was praying he didn't want to die...if he is God why is he praying to himself? Be God and get yourself outta there! What do you mean Jesus has to pay for our sins? NO! Jesus is a good person, he helps people. Good people shouldn't pay for bad people's sins, that's not fair! God is supposed to fair.....God HAS to be fair.....No, God IS fair. None of this makes any sense!!!!! " Then I'd go quiet and hold back the tears. My heart aches thinking of my bewildered young self. @José Riquelme They are perfectly legitimate questions from a child under the age of 10, which I was at the time. How nice of you to refer to inquisitive children as 'moronic'.
You can “claim” to be monotheistic in your belief of the nature of God all you want, but the fact of the matter is that you’re worshiping a 3 “fully” distinct, independent gods NOT one, regardless of any semantic gymnastics you attempt, because common logic and sound reason is in absolute clash with your belief. So the Quran is VERY right in saying, worship One not three, despite what you merely assert.

To quote Mohammed Hijab: "The Quran doesn't seek to define the Trinity, the Quran refutes all forms of Trinity that have ever existed and will ever exist." @@ArdoBlueMoon I still dont understand why allah is the third of three? i know thats its supposed to make the trinity look silly in a way but i dont get it
There are not several forms of trinity there is only one xD Very weak attempt to explain the fact, that fake God Allah didnt know what the trinity was. Why in hell should he explain the trinity concept of a very little Christian sect (if ever existed) instead of refuting the trinity of the catholic church which was the only Christian church back then. Easter Orthodox and roman Catholic church were one at time of mohammed. They had to adhere to the roman doctrine of trinity, otherwise they would be heretics and not even considered Christians (which is right in my opinion). So to explain this problem in your Quran with "Maybe Allah just refuted a very specific form of trinity some Christians believed" is so ridiculously stupid I cant have answer on that. Face the fact, the Quran teaches Christians believed Mary and Jesus were 2 seperate Gods beside YHWH which is absolute wrong. It jsut shows how man made the Quran is and that Mohammed was not inspired by the true living God whatsoever!!! Jesus Christ, the son of God, have mercy on you.
No, the quran doesn’t. Christians often say the Quran says Mary is part of the trinity. But what they don’t know, there is a sect called Mariamites that though Mary is part of the Trinity and they worshipped her. Christians should read more about their history 👍
But the Quran generalizes this as the total belief of Christians. People that believed Mary was part of the Trinity couldn't have been CHRISTIANS. If you object, could you provide historical or scriptural proof?
Where is the Quran saying that Mary is part of the trinity? The Quran does say that people will woship Mary, which is no doubt true. Just go to a catholic country. [5:116] GOD will say, “O Jesus, son of Mary,* did you say to the people, ‘Make me and my mother idols beside GOD’?” He will say, “Be You glorified. I could not utter what was not right. Had I said it, You already would have known it. You know my thoughts, and I do not know Your thoughts. You know all the secrets. [5:117] "I told them only what You commanded me to say, that: 'You shall worship GOD, my Lord and your Lord.' I was a witness among them for as long as I lived with them. When You terminated my life on earth, You became the Watcher over them. You witness all things.
@@steelisrael3461 just because you don't see them as christians doesn't mean that they are not. plus the word trinity or its concept doesn't exist in the quran. Allah generalises all christian in that they all either worship jesus, mary besides him. doesn't matter what sect they are and whether they reject mariam or not.
In Indian religion there is the Trinitarian group of Brahma, Vishna, and Shiva, in Egyptian religion there is the group of Kneph, Phthas, and Osiris. In Phoenicia the trinity of gods were Ulomus, Ulosuros, and Eliun. In Greece they were Zeus, Poseidon, and Aidoneus. In Rome they were Jupiter, Neptune, and Pluto. In Babylonia and Assyria they were Anos, lllinos, and Aos. Among Celtic nations they were called Kriosan, Biosena, and Siva, and in Germanic nations they were called Thor, Wodan, and Fricco. We can see, therefore, that although the Trinity is characteristic of the Christian religion, it is by no means peculiar to it.The facts prove that the doctrine of the Trinity does not appear in the Bible nor did Jesus and his followers intend to contradict the Shema in the Old testament: 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord' (Deut. 6:4).The doctrine developed gradually over several centuries and through many controversies. By the end of the 4th century the doctrine of the Trinity took substantially the form it has maintained ever since. The controversy, indeed, was settled by man, not God. But, if God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit are not one and the same, who, or what, are they? Research proves that even the concept of the Trinity, as taught by Christian religions, did not exist, and could not have existed, during all of Biblical history. The deduction, by factual research and logical reasoning, is that there is absolutely no evidence or proof that there is a Trinity. The evidence, in fact, proves the opposite, there is definitely not a Trinity
This is a rather good explanation of the Trinity. www.bing.com/videos/search?q=youtube+bishop+barron+on+the+Trinity&docid=607996661468969990&mid=ED188F67818228ABEA8CED188F67818228ABEA8C&view=detail&FORM=VIRE

The Trinity that God has revealed through His inspired Word, can even be found in the *first three verses* of the Bible, Genesis 1:1-3 : "In the beginning GOD created the heavens and the earth. 2Now the earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep. And the SPIRIT OF GOD was hovering over the surface of the waters. 3And GOD SAID, “Let there be light,” and there was light." In these introductory verses of the true inspired Word of God, it is clearly depicted that God, His Word, and His Spirit (outside of the creation) simultaneously act as Creator. And God can send His Word and His Spirit to save the believing sinners, by making His Salvation available through Jesus-Christ (The Word of God, The Son) and through His Holy Spirit. - references John 1:1-14 ; John 3:5 Regarding Deuteronomy 6:4 : the original Hebrew states: “Shema Israel, Adonai Elohenu Adonai echad.” First note, that the declaration of faith has the titles of God repeated three times here, implying there is indeed a Trinity in the Godhood. Secondly, the word “echad” used here, points to a unity or a cluster, this word is the plural to “echid” pointing to a singularity. But echid was not used here, purposely so. Because God is a unity, not a singularity. Finally, God created Adam in His image (Genesis 1:26 ; Muslim 2841). Does this means that God created a god when He created Adam? Absolutely not. However this means that He created Adam according to His example, according to His model, according to how He is. If Adam was created in the image of God with body, soul and spirit, then God according to whom he was created can have Father, Son and Spirit. If having a body, a soul, and a spirit does not make three yous but only one you. Similarly, God being simultaneously Father, Son and Holy Spirit does not make three gods but one One God. There are depths in our oneness, because there is depth in God’s oneness. He has willed it so.

@@zachkri8418 For example, I think this statement of the Quran can be attacked: "That they said (in boast), 'We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah';- but they killed him not, nor crucified him." It seems like a flawed statement, because according to early Christian records and historians, Jesus was indeed killed by crucifixion.
@@taurusking_1997 I don't believe the Quran is from God. In fact, this very verse would make me doubt it is from God because it seems like a lie about what really happened 2000 years ago in service of some theological ideal.
The Trinity is One God, YHWH who expresses Himself simultaneously as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Because the false Arab god, does not know what he is talking about
2:37 I actually think there could be another way that this line in the Qur'an might be interpreted. I'm not a scholar, and I could never know what exactly Allah intended for this line, so this is just speculation on my part, but when I heard the part that said, "to those that say God is the third of three" it immediately reminded me of how I see Christians practice their faith in relation to the Trinity. In this Qur'anic line, using the word 'God', Allah is referring to himself (not the Godhead that Christians believe in). Allah, as I understand it, seems to be describing where he fits into with the Christians concept or version of what God is. So, being the "third of three" Allah could potentially be saying that God, or what Christians would consider 'the father' is in "last place" (third place of three figures), and this could be in terms of importance or in terms of praise or level of worship or acknowledgement. And this is honestly what I see from a lot of Christians. They always praise Jesus (pbuh) and preach if you believe in Jesus, the holy spirit will come to you and save you, but I rarely ever see them praise 'the father' in any kind of way that is detached or not connected to Jesus (pbuh). So while you hear a lot of praises going to Jesus (pbuh) and the holy spirit, you don't hear much going to 'the father', or as we know him God or Allah. Hell, as you've mentioned before in other videos and what the Qur'an states in other verses, even the Virgin Mary is lifted to a kind of devine status and is given praises. I don't think I've ever heard a Christian say praise to the father. Any time the father is mentioned it's always as lifting up Jesus (pbuh) by saying the father sent Jesus down and sacrificed his son to save us. And as a result, people seem to think of, thank, and praise Jesus for his sacrifice and 'dying for their sins' and giving them salvation rather than looking to God for his mercy. So, I think this line could also question the role or position Christians gave the one true God, Allah. It is a position that comes in last as if it isn't as important out of the three when he should be the most important, while the others shouldn't be compared next to him because they are not God. The line then says to them that there is only one God, as a way to remind them, scold them for falsely thinking otherwise, and bring them back to their senses. Those are just some of my thoughts. Obliviously and can't be sure if I'm correct, but I thought I'd share my thoughts. Let me know what you think and if this could be a potential understanding. May Allah bless you and bring you closer to him.

@@mhhassan23 I have a question In Quran 5:73 it talks about a trinity and in 5:75 it clarifies that Jesus and Mary are not god. So that means the “third of three” trinity in 5;73 are taking about Jesus Mary and Allah, so does the Quran get it wrong?
@@omarfarhanhossain3714 no, because if you read the verse 5:73, even though it talks about a trinity, you have to look at what it is saying about it and whether it is a validation or rejection of the trinity. In the verse 5:73 it says that "those who say, 'Allah is one in a trinity,' have certainly fallen into disbelief. There is only One God." This verse would compliment and agree with verse 5:75 that states that Jesus and Mary (peace be upon them) are not God and that there is only one God, Allah. This is not a contradiction. The two verses support each other. Just because the verse 5:73 talks about the trinity, doesn't mean the verse supports it. The verse is, in fact, and clear and firm rejection of the trinity, saying that those who believe God is one of three have been deceived and are disbelievers. So, no, the Qur'an is not wrong. I hope that answers your question 👍

But anyway you won't really understand why he chose the hard life, stayed firm to the believe despite all the hardship he had to go through. Yes bro because they believe that there is only one God. And God didn't need any son or any support. Because only humans or creatures need son or daughter for getting support from them in old age. And for growing their race. But unfortunately they don't believe in Zechariah, John the Baptist, Solomon and David (they believe that they both are only kings not prophet), and they also don't believe in Jesus and last prophet Mohammed (P.B.U.H).
Dude, have you ever read your own commentators and their explanations of the Qur'an? About every second page says "the scholars are in disagreement about this verse".
How could the Quran wrong when the Christians themselves dont agree which one is right. Ask ten Christians to explain it to somebody, you will get ten different explanations for it. The only thing they would agree with would be: "Just believe it, you'll be saved".
The quran is not from God. If God is the One by whom miracles were performed in the Old and the New Testament to confirm His divine message. Why didn't He do the same to confirm the message of his alleged "favorite" prophet? God did not do so, because indeed the false prophet and his book were not sent by God.
People would do themselves a great favour by learning Arabic and its ways of expression, thus they will be relieved of many misunderstandings coming from trying to understand Quran within the frame of their native tongue.
So if I believe in Trinity I'm saved? That makes the one true God unjust! So for thousand of years before Christ He was advocating people to worship Him alone, and then decided oh well, this isn't working real well so I guess I'll send em my son so they might be saved? Subhan Allah! What about all those before Christ? Never knew him, never heard of him, and never had the opportunity to worship him ? If God is truly just & He is, then all mankind must have equal opportunity to worship Him and Him only in one uniform way!

Has Islam Misunderstood Christianity? by Bassam Zawadi Argument no. 2: The Qur’an Identifies the Trinity as Allah, Jesus, and Mary Nowhere do the Islamic sources explicitly identify the three persons of the Trinity. It is not even in Islam’s interest to do so. Islam is mainly concerned with denouncing concepts and beliefs and not delving into any unnecessary details. It’s not essential to identify the three persons of the Trinity and then condemn that Trinity concept when you have already made it clear that Allah is one person. When we look at Surah 4, Ayah 171 and Surah 5, Ayah 73 where the Trinity is being alluded to, we don’t see Mary’s name being mentioned as one of the three. The Qur’an treats the issue of the Trinity and Mary’s being taken as a god as two separate themes. Surah 5, Ayah 116 states: “And when Allah will say:”O Jesus, son of Mary! Did you say unto men: ‘Take me and my mother as two gods besides Allah?’ “He will say: “Glory be to You! It was not for me to say what I had no right (to say).” This is simply a verse disapproving of the worship of Jesus and Mary besides Allah and also exonerates Jesus from having advised his followers to worship him and Mary. There is no allusion to the doctrine of the Trinity in this verse. Also, the idea of Mary being taken as a God could be understood in more than one sense. If one refers to Surah 9:31 and 25:43, one could see that when the Qur’an refers to someone or something being taken as a god, it doesn’t always mean so in a literal sense, but that this someone or something is treated in a way that only God deserves to be treated. Similarly, one could be open to the possibility that when Surah 5, Ayah 116 talks about Mary being taken as a god, that it doesn’t mean so in the literal sense, but that there are those treating Mary in a way that only God deserves to be treated just like with the Catholics and their excessive venerations of Mary. Professor of Christianity and Islam at the University of Birmingham, Dave Thomas, said in his article entitled “Trinity” in the Encylopedia of Islam vol 5, pages 369-370 in regards to Surah 5, Ayah 116: “Strictly speaking, this verse need not be read as a reference to a version of the Trinity but rather as an example of shirk, claiming divinity for beings other than God (see Idolatry and Idolaters). As such, it could be understood as a warning against excessive devotion to Jesus and extravagant veneration of Mary, a reminder linked to the central theme of the Qur’an that there is only one God and he alone is to be worshipped (see worship). ….. and then he continues on to say: If, on the other hand, there is no sectarian version of Christian doctrine being addressed in this verse, it need not be read as a rejection of a deviant doctrine of the Trinity but as a denial that Jesus and Maryam are equal with God, and a warning (q.v.) against making excessive claims about them. Thus, it can be understood as an instance of the warning against the divinization of Jesus that is given elsewhere in the Qur’an and a warning against the virtual divinization of Mary in the declarations of the fifth-century church councils that she is theotokos, “God-bearer.” Islamic historian Heribert Busse said on page 23 of his book, Islam, Judaism and Christianity: theological and historical affiliations: “There is reference in the Koran to an odd understanding of the Trinity. God asked Jesus if he taught the following: “Take me and my mother as gods, apart from God” (5:116). Jesus answered negatively, of course. The obvious assumption here, that Muhammad made a mistake in listing the three persons of the one Godhead, can be countered with the assumption that the reference was to the Collyridians, a Christian sect that worshipped the Virgin Mary.” He then continues on to say: “With respect to the cited Koran passage, Muhammad was most likely referring to such a Christian sect. This is in any case more plausible than assuming that the Prophet defined the Trinity in such an erroneous manner out of pure ignorance.” Indeed, it’s highly unlikely that the author of the Qur’an would have made this mistake, especially since we have no record of any Christians arguing this point against Muhammad (peace be upon him), while Islamic sources have not shied away from mentioning Christian arguments against Muslims, and plus, there were Christian converts such as Salman Al Faarisi, ‘Adi ibn Hatim, and others who were around that could have corrected the Prophet (peace be upon him), but they never did because they didn’t understand the Qur’an to be saying that Mary was part of the Trinity. Qur’anic exegete Imam Al-Tabarani said in his commentary on Surah 5, Ayah 116 that even if there were no people today who claim that Mary is God, then surely it’s bound that some in the past must have done it. This shows that grammatically and textually speaking, one is not bound to interpret the Qur’an as referring to all Christians. Rather, it is condemning the belief and not pinpointing exactly who it is that held this belief. It’s possible to say that it is a reference to the Collyridians, just as Islamic historian Heribert said, or could possibly be a reference to the Catholics as Professor Dave Thomas suggested. The next verse in question is Surah 5, Ayah 73, which states: “Surely, disbelievers are those who said: “Allah is the third of a three.” Professor Dave Thomas, on page 369 of the same article, said in regards to Surah 5, Ayah 73: “It has been suggested that this verse criticizes a deviant form of Trinitarian belief which overstressed the distinctiveness of the three persons at the expense of their unity as substance (Masson, Coran, 93; Watt-Bell, Introduction, 158). It has also been noted that, in fact, this is not a reference to the Trinity but to Jesus, who in Syriac literature was often called “the third of three” (Griffith, Christians and Christianity, 312-13). By this reading Q 5:73 must be seen as constituting part of a sustained criticism of the belief in the divinity of Christ that occupies the whole of Q 5:72-75, i.e. an emphatic repetition of the criticism in verse 72 that God and Christ are identical (see Christians and Christianity; Polemic and Polemical Language).” Again, this goes to show that the verse is not clearly saying that all Christians believe that Mary was part of a Trinity. Some have argued that because two verses later in Ayah 75, the Qur’an presents an argument against Mary’s divinity that this means that Ayah 73 is identifying Mary as one of the three. However, this connection is not clear. If one were to read Ayah 72, he would observe that the Qur’an is condemning a belief different from the one in Ayah 73. Hence, just because Ayah 75 condemns the belief in Mary’s deity, that doesn’t necessarily imply that it has to do with the people being addressed two verses prior in Ayah 73. The next verse in question is Surah 4, Ayah 171, which states, “O people of the Scripture! Do not exceed the limits in your religion, nor say of Allah aught but the truth. The Messiah Jesus son of Mary, was a Messenger of Allah and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary and a spirit created by Him; so believe in Allah and His Messengers. Say not: “Three!” Cease! It is better for you.”........... Please go islamicdiscourse.substack to read the rest of the article.

I believe the description of the trinity in the Quran is closer to the belief held by the Ghassanid Christians who lived in the northern part of the Arabian peninsula at the time. Though aligned to the Eastern Roman empire, their ideology was apparently still influenced by pagan concepts. And Allah knows best.
" And [beware the Day] when Allah will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the people, 'Take me and my mother as deities besides Allah ?'" He will say, "Exalted are You! Indeed, it is You who is Knower of the unseen. " 5:116
The verse doesn't even mention the Trinity nor does Quran 5:116 even say that this is the Trinity. Historical sources show that there were sects of Christianity such as the Jacobites who actually believed in Mary being divine and worshipped her along with Jesus and Allah in a Trinity. Catholics are their modern-day counterpart as they: - Sing praises to her - Pray to her - Make icons of her - Mention her in every prayer

@José Riquelme they are not indivisible? One of the three amigos has a god and it is the first in your list of your bogus trinity. The first is the god of the second. What sense is that? John 20 Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to *my God and your God.* ‘’’ yet for us *there is but one God, the Father* from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live. There is a sense of pagan Greek logos theology there but the Trinity is a false doctrine Timothy 2:5-6 For *there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people.* This has now been witnessed to at the proper time. Trinity is false doctrine Acts 2:22 “Fellow Israelites, listen to this: *Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him,* as you yourselves know. Jesus was a man. Case closed. Trinity is definitely false. It is garbage. It is above all a blasphemy.
If The Qur'an in describing God as "The Third of three" and the subsequent command to cease this and its (The Qur'ans) portrayal, of God, questioning Jesus on the Day of Judgement, by asking "Did you say to the people take me and my mother as gods besides Allah", then this would be rejected by mainstream Christianity as well. The Christian understanding of the nature of God, as it has been revealed in The Bible is that God is one in nature but that the Godhead consists of three distinct persons; so God is absolutely one in nature, but triune in personality.
God is one in nature, but the Godhead consists of THREE DISTINCT PERSON, SOUNDS LIKE GOD IS A MYTHICAL FIGURE WITH PERSONALITY DISORDER.. Why would God almighty confuse humanity. God is a merciful God. This is what Hinduism did, they have one big god brahma who cannot be seen and lots of other god to be shared among different caste systems.
It's anachronistic to equate the theology or Messiah-ology of 2nd temple Judaism, Jesus's Judaism, with that of rabbinic/Talmudic Judaism, which wasn't formulated until centuries later and was done in such a way as to actively reject elements of 2nd Temple Judaism that were deemed problematic. The title "Son of God" is not the one which implies divinity, but rather, and somewhat ironically, "Son of Man," which does imply divinity, and it's a concept that Jesus frequently used and believed in. Even Jewish scholars like David Flusser, Daniel Boyarin and Jacob Neusner acknowledge that pre-rabbinic Judaism contained the belief in a divine messiah, which was entailed by the "Son of Man" concept.
I was not aware that the concept "Son of Man" implies "divinity." That's very interesting. I don't understand all the different aspects of Judaism that you mention. Peace and God bless...
@@johnbrzykcy3076 Yes, it's based on the "Son of Man" in Daniel 7:13-14, which even Rabbinic commentators like Rashi acknowledge is talking about the Messiah. The interesting thing is, the Son of Man is described as "coming in the clouds" and this is a description used for God alone in the Hebrew Bible. If you're interested, here's some relevant quotations from Jewish scholars of Judaism explaining this idea: From Jacob Neusner: "the system laid out in the Mishnah takes up and disposes of those critical issues of teleology worked out through messianic eschatology in other, earlier versions of Judaism. These earlier systems resorted to the myth of the Messiah as saviour and redeemer of Israel, a supernatural figure engaged in political-historical tasks as king of the Jews, even a God-man facing the crucial historical questions of Israel’s life and resolving them" -- Neusner, Jacob, et al., Judaisms and their Messiahs, Cambridge University Press, 1987, p. 275 “The Mishnah’s mode in turn drastically modified the Messiah-myth. […] the Mishnah’s system ended up wholly definitive for Judaism...” - Ibid., p. 281 “As to the Mishnah’s part of the canon, at the beginning the authors wished so far as possible to avoid all reliance upon the Messiah as an apocalyptic figure. Even the language was given a meaning not primary in the prior writings, “messiah” as (mere) high priest, “messiah” as something other than eschatological saviour, whether priest or general, whether from David’s line or the house of Joseph.” - Ibid., p. 280 From David Flusser: “The Son of Man is a sublime figure, towering above the angels and preceding the creation of the world, a hidden figure that will only appear in the end of days. During the eschatological drama, the Son of Man is charged with revealing God’s secrets, and with sitting on the throne of God’s glory and meting out justice in the eschatological judgments.” - Flusser, David, Judaism of the Second Temple Period: Volume 2, Eerdman’s Publishing Co., 2009, p. 262 “Jesus expects a super-human judge, whom he calls the ‘Son of Man,’ to appear in the end of days…” - Ibid., p. 260 “As we will see, the Son of Man is identified in many Jewish sources with the Messiah and this was almost certainly Jesus’s view as well. […] Even though in the Jewish sources and in Jesus’s dicta Son of Man refers to a superhuman entity, the term became suspect in the early church.” -- Ibid., p. 261 “The reason the epithet ‘Son of Man’ was marginalized so thoroughly in the early church is that its original meaning was lost and it became incomprehensible. Moreover, it was understood literally: Jesus is the son of a human being.” -- Ibid., p. 261 From Daniel Boyarin: “According to the first view, [of Christology] which has been popular among liberal Protestants for over a century, the idea of the divinity of Christ could only have been a relatively late “Gentile” development that marks a decisive break with anything that could reasonably be called Jewish. […] A second approach, currently enjoying ascendance especially among New Testament scholars, sees the earliest versions of high Christology as emerging within a Jewish religious context. I submit that it is possible to understand the Gospel only if both Jesus and the Jews around him held to a high Christology whereby the claim to Messiahship was also a claim to being a divine man.” - Boyarin, Daniel, The Jewish Gospels, The New Press, 2012 pp. 54-55 “We find in Aphrahat, the fourth-century Iranian Father of the Church, the following attack on the interpretation (presumably by Jews) that makes the ‘one like a Son of Man’ out to be the people of Israel: ‘Have the children of Israel received the kingdom of the Most High? God forbid! Or has the people come on the clouds of heaven?’ (Demonstrations 5:21) Aphrahat’s argument is exegetical and very much to the point. Clouds--as well as riding on or with clouds-are a common attribute of biblical divine appearances, called theophanies (Greek for ‘God appearances’) by scholars. J. A. Emerton had made the point decisively: ‘The act of coming with clouds suggests a theophany of Yahwe himself. If Dan. vii.13 does not refer to a divine being, then it is the only exception out of about seventy passages in the Old Testament.’ […] Those two divinities [Ancient of Days and Son of Man], in the course of time, would end up being the first two persons of the Trinity. ” - Ibid., pp. 39-40 “This ‘firmly secular’ account with a further story about how the Jews would never have thought of a ‘supernatural Hellenistic Messiah,’ and that the idea of a dying and resurrecting Jesus could only have come in via ‘a Neolithic vegetation spirit, the ‘dying god’ of the Near East.’ Even from a purely historical point of view, this account, cited here as typical of so many, can have no purchase, as it totally ignores the Jewish history of the divine, ‘supernatural’ Redeemer that we have been exploring throughout this book.” - ibid., p. 127-8 I could go on citing scholarship on this issue, but you get the point. lol
@@ConsideringPhlebas The title "Son of God" is not the one which implies divinity, but rather, and somewhat ironically, "Son of Man", which does imply divinity…" Son of Man does not imply divinity. A single verse will suffice: "In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into His presence." Dan 7 : 13. Was God led into the presence of God? The Son of Man is clearly not God. "Even Jewish Scholars like David Flusser, Daniel Boyarin and Jacob Neusner acknowledge that pre-rabbinic Judaism contained the belief in a divine Messiah…" This is largely a misrepresentation of what these scholars have to say (your long-winded attempt to quote each one at length notwithstanding). Neusner, though, is perhaps the only one who provides some support for your claim. Nevertheless, he still explicitly argues that Jesus was totally wrong in thinking that he was the apocalyptic Son of Man. So sure, quote Neusner all you want, but you left out the part where he draws a line in the sand: "...but to find a “friend” in Jesus even as Jesus claims divinity, to deny his claim to be God but at the same time to wish him well, to reject the assertions Jesus makes while at the same time praising his “virtue” and “wisdom,” is demeaning to both Judaism and Christianity." A Rabbi Talks with Jesus, McGill University Press p. 31 The situation is far worse with Flusser, who acknowledges first and foremost that Geza Vermes was absolutely correct in concluding that the locution "bar-nashah" (Son of Man) was merely a Palestinian-Aramaic colloquialism meaning "me", and it would have had no other significance for Jesus whatsoever! Flusser circumvents this by insisting that Jesus did not speak or teach in Aramaic, but in Hebrew! And that's just crazy. But, it allows Flusser to say that Jesus would have used "ben Adam", which he then endows with a whole host of Messianic meanings based upon the appearance of the phrase - not in the Bible - but in the Testament of Abraham (wait, I thought extra-Biblical literature was just obviously insignificant?). So again, quote Flusser all you want, but you clearly left out the part where his primary argument for the idea of a 2nd Temple God-man rests on a specious connection to a forged book rejected from your own canon (see the section of his book The Sage from Galilee, Grand Rapids: Eerdmans, from pp. 109 - 116). Your citation of Boyarin is perhaps the most outrageous of all! Boyarin believes that the whole Bible is a collection of myth! He argues that the investiture of a "Son of Man" in Daniel 7 is a recapitulation of the Canaanite saga in which El the High God frequently invests a lesser God of the same pantheon with greater authority. Boyarin then argues that Christianity, as represented by the Gospels, did not follow 2nd Temple Judaism (but rather broke with 2nd Temple Judaism) by re-affirming this older polytheistic belief in multiple Gods (a High God and a lesser God) which had been suppressed in the meantime. So sure, quote Boyarin all you want, but you left out the part where he says the 1st century Christians were closer to the Canaanites than they were to the Jews! (Boyarin makes this case extensively in the largest portion of his book The Jewish Gospels, New York: New Press, pp. 25- 75) "I could go on citing scholarship on this issue, but you get the point. lol" Yes please. Continue your massive self-own by citing these scholars. lol
@@alanbishopman Back for another tanning are you? "Was God led into the presence of God? The Son of Man is clearly not God." Translation: "He can't be divine because he doesn't fit my subjective criteria of what constitutes divinity." You're applying Muslim exegetical standards to the text not Biblical exegetical standards. As shown above, the description of "riding on the clouds" is an epithet used only for God and divine theophanies in the Bible. Therefore, one so described is divine according to the Biblical view. You can't take your subjective theological understanding or the Qur'an's theological understanding and apply it to interpret the Bible when the Bible is clearly telling you something in its own language. "This is largely a misrepresentation of what these scholars have to say" No, once again, it's really just a problem with your reading comprehension. "Neusner, though, is perhaps the only one who provides some support for your claim." So when Boyarin writes, as clear as day that: "I submit that it is possible to understand the Gospel only if both Jesus and the Jews around him held to a high Christology whereby the claim to Messiahship was also a claim to being a ***divine man***." I'm misrepresenting his views? "he [Neusner] still explicitly argues that Jesus was totally wrong in thinking that he was the apocalyptic Son of Man." Well, colour me surprised! A rabbinic Jew rejects Jesus's divinity! Lol. I specified that Neusner was Jewish when I wrote my reponse to John Brzykcy. My claim, O reading-impaired one, was not that Neusner agreed with Christianity but that he acknowledged the existence in ancient Judaism of the belief in a divine Messiah. "the locution "bar-nashah" (Son of Man) was merely a Palestinian-Aramaic colloquialism meaning "me"" It doesn't mean 'me,' it means 'a person'/'human', etc.: cal.huc.edu/oneentry.php?lemma=br%40%29n%24+N&cits=all "Flusser circumvents this by insisting that Jesus did not speak or teach in Aramaic, but in Hebrew! And that's just crazy" It's actually entirely possible that Jesus spoke colloquially in Aramaic but used Hebrew terminology when communicating a specific concept. You can observe this in the New Testament itself which, though written in Greek, contains many Hebrew and Aramaic terms, including Hebrew terms that Jesus himself used, like 'Gehenna,' 'Amen,' 'Satan,' 'Mammon,' etc.: bibtheo.com/2020/02/04/aramaicgnt/ Flusser doesn't say that Jesus went around speaking Hebrew at all times, only that when he mentioned the Son of Man, he used the Hebrew phrase ben Adam: "If Jesus spoke of this figure in Hebrew, he referred to it as ben adam." -- Flusser, David, Judaism of the Second Temple Period: Volume 2, Eerdman’s Publishing Co., 2009, p. 264 So in fact there's nothing "crazy" at all about Flusser's thesis that Jesus could have used Hebrew terminology to communicate specific concepts, as we find this repeatedly in the New Testament itself. ""ben Adam", which he [Flusser] then endows with a whole host of Messianic meanings based upon the appearance of the phrase - not in the Bible - but in the Testament of Abraham" Not just in the Testament of Abraham, but also in the Book of Enoch/1 Enoch and 4 Ezra. See Ibid., pp 262-3. He also states in the same passage that these texts share a common lineage with the passage in Daniel 7:13 and are also influenced by it, so the Son of Man is a Biblical concept: "the Son of Man figure likely preceded the Book of Daniel, as it appears there in a secondary role. Other Jewish sources affirm this hypothesis, for while they are often influenced by the Son of Man passages in Daniel, they nonetheless assume their readers' familiarity with the figure." -- Ibid., p. 262 Even the highly influential medieval rabbinic Jewish commentators Rashi and Ibn Ezra acknowledge the Messianic view of the Son of Man, and their view of course is taken from the **Biblical** passage of Daniel 7:13: Rashi: "one like a man was coming That is the King Messiah." www.sefaria.org/Daniel.7.13?lang=bi&with=Rashi&lang2=en “Ibn Ezra, who endorses the collective interpretation, also acknowledges the currency of the messianic view.” - Collins, John J., Daniel: Hermeneia Commentary, Fortress Press, 1993, p. 307 (footnote 265) "you clearly left out" As the above shows, YOU're clearly the one leaving stuff out here, boyo. "Your citation of Boyarin is perhaps the most outrageous of all!" It really isn't. This is just your chutzpah talking. "He argues that the investiture of a "Son of Man" in Daniel 7 is a recapitulation of the Canaanite saga in which El the High God frequently invests a lesser God of the same pantheon with greater authority." No, that's just the scholarly view on the origin of the motif. The Bible uses various Canaanite motifs as vehicles for its own metaphysical views, so this is nothing remarkable. See an obvious example like Isaiah 27:1. Boyarin's view as to the origin of the Biblical narrative is: "‘Rabbi Aqiva’ perceives two divine figures in heaven, one God the Father and one an apotheosized king David. […] I have presented the bases for my own conclusion that such was the original meaning of the text as well; see Daniel Boyarin, ‘Daniel 7, Intertextuality and the History of Israel’s Cult.'" - Boyarin, D., The Jewish Gospels, The New Press, 2012, p. 40-1 (footnote text) "****Boyarin then argues that Christianity, as represented by the Gospels, did not follow 2nd Temple Judaism (but rather broke with 2nd Temple Judaism)***** by re-affirming this older polytheistic belief in multiple Gods (a High God and a lesser God) which had been suppressed in the meantime. So sure, quote Boyarin all you want, but you left out the part where ****he says the 1st century Christians were closer to the Canaanites than they were to the Jews!****" This is just a massive misrepresentation of Boyarin's view and the colouring of it with your own anti-Christian polemic, as would be painfully obvious to anyone who had read the ***Jewish Gospels*** by Boyarin. I'll let Boyarin himself deliver the final, fatal blow to your mendacious monologue: "On the other hand, Jews will have to stop vilifying Christian ideas about God as simply a collection of 'un-Jewish,' perhaps pagan, and in any case bizarre fantasies. God in a human body indeed! Recognizing these ideas as deeply rooted in the ancient complex of Jewish religious ideas may not lead us Jews to accept them but should certainly help us realize that Christian ideas are not alien to us; they are our own offspring and sometimes, perhaps, among the most ancient of all Israelite-Jewish ideas. On the other hand, certain kinds of 'liberal' Christian apologists, such as Philip Pullman (the author of His Dark Materials), will stop having to separate out a 'good Jesus' from a 'bad Christ.' I suggest that Jesus and Christ were one from the very beginning of the Jesus movement. It won't be possible any longer to think of some ethical religious teacher who was later promoted to divinity under the influence of alien Greek notions, with his so-called original message being distorted and lost; the idea of Jesus as divine human Messiah goes back to the very beginning of the Christian movement, to Jesus himself, and even before that." -- Ibid., pp. 6-7
@@ConsideringPhlebas "You're applying Muslim exegetical standards to the text…" I'm an Atheist. I'm surprised you didn't pick up on that. I admire BloggingTheology and am happy to defend his perspective because he presents a modern, intellectual account of Islam that is the very antidote to extremism which we desperately need in the UK. But - by definition - I can't be applying Muslim exegetical standards, can I? That's an epic fail on your part :) "So when Boyarin writes, as clear as day that… I'm misrepresenting his views?" Yes. Unequivocally. Boyarin analyzes the Son of Man Logia within the matrix of his larger claim that the Jewish scriptures are the product of pagan myth-making. His analysis of Daniel 7, first, and the milieu of the Gospels, second, is literally unintelligible apart from his insistence that the very basis of the "Son of Man" is found in Canaanite Paganism. A Bible-believing Christian - like you - who quotes a small portion of that analysis to support his understanding of High Christology (without mentioning the fact that Boyarin problematizes the typological, narratological and historical background of that same High Christology) is misrepresenting Boyarin. "My claim, O reading impaired one, was not that Neusner agreed with Christianity…" My criticism highlighted important info which can't be dismissed by simply saying: "well he's Jewish." It's not Neusner's personal bias, but rather his analysis - i.e. the superstructure of his scholarship on this issue - which excludes Jesus from being the Messianic Son of Man. Again, to liberate a portion of that analysis which seems to favor Christian claims, without mentioning the fact that this same analysis disallows the real-world identification of Jesus with Neusner's Messianic Son of Man, is a misrepresentation. "It doesn't mean 'me'. It means a person/human etc." I was referring to Geza Vermes' assessment of the locution "bar-nashah." Vermes, who was an expert on Palestinian-Aramaic, said this: "The [phrase] was used in a generic and/or indefinite sense but also as a circumlocution for 'I', having the meaning 'someone like me.'" (Vermes. Jews and the World of Judaism. Fortress Press, 1984, p. 90) My paraphrase wasn't precise, but your criticism is futile. "Flusser didn't say that Jesus went around speaking Hebrew at all times…" WRONG. A single citation will suffice: "It is possible that Jesus did, from time to time, make use of the Aramaic language. But during that time, Hebrew was both the daily language and the language of study. The Gospel of Mark contains a few Aramaic words, and this is what misled scholars." Flusser. Jewish Sources in Early Christianity, Adama Books: NY, 1987. p. 11 Flusser came down hard on the side of a Hebrew-speaking Jesus, with little to no Aramaic. He also admits that this contradicts the opinion of major scholars in the field, and I myself see no evidence for Flusser's radical position. "No that's just the scholarly view on the origin of the motif…" Convenient. Though, that's not what Boyarin says. Boyarin does not identify this pagan background as a mere borrowed "motif" in Daniel 7 but as the actual womb of Israelite religion. Boyarin says that the Israelites' worship of Yahweh was born from that of Baal, a lesser associate of the High God El. The Biblical writers merged the two deities together over time, suppressing the original paganism, but this remained (in Boyarin's own words): "the hypothetical originary ditheism of Israel's religion." {Jewish Gospels. p. 167 n. 27}. My reading of Boyarin's work is accurate. Yours is not. Lastly, you misrepresent Boyarin yet again. You quote him as saying "Recognizing these ideas as deeply rooted in the ancient complex of Jewish religious ideas…" as though this proves Boyarin believed that Christian Messianism matched the teachings of 2nd Temple Judaism. No. When Boyarin makes this statement, he's already anticipating the conclusion of his research. And his conclusion is not that the Christian understanding of the Son of Man was an organically Jewish idea in and of itself, but that it was only Jewish to the extant that it revived the original polytheism of Israelite religion. That's the sense in which Boyarin uses the word "Jewish" in your quote. In his own words: "The theology of the Gospels, far from being a radical innovation within the Israelite religious tradition, is a highly conservative return to the very most ancient moments within that tradition - moments that had been largely suppressed in the meantime - but not entirely." Jewish Gospels p. 47 - - - - - - - - Case closed.

It's weird that there is any reference at all to 2nd Century heresies, when Paul, writing in the first Century, clearly attests Christ's divinity was part of the religion very early on, and the Gospel accounts depict the Jewish Pharisees becoming angry when Jesus claimed to be GOD incarnate. They didn't threaten to stone Jesus because he thought he was a prophet... What's incredibly stupid, however, is trying to claim that they must have been right to reject the divinity of Yeshua Christ, when it is at least equally as correct to say they INCORRECTLY rejected the divinity of Christ and shoveled an ad hoc apologetic to continue believing in a unitarian view of the Trinitarian GOD of the Old Testament. Unitarianism didn't go away, but is just as stupid today as it was then. The Old Testament and New Testament clearly assume a Trinitarian GOD. And making arguments about the Ebionite heresy is pointless, because none of their writings exist, so it is literally nothing better than sophistry to bring them up.
Salam alaikum brother, can you make a video explaining the phenomenon of people like Sam chamoune , David wood and hatune , why they use dirty ways in their work and still call themselves honest Christians?
If the concept of the multiplicity of persons in God is unacceptable in Islam, how is it then conceivable and accepted that the Quran is uncreated alongside Allah? This means before anything that was CREATED, the Quran existed with Allah as UNCREATED "persons" if you may. How can this be?
@GameSlack I never claimed you worshipped those. I'm only asking why it isn't a problem for Tawhid. How can there be at least two UNCREATED "persons" before Creation? Who else asides GOD is UNCREATED?
@GameSlack And also, if in CREATION itself, we can find multiple instances of multiplicity in unity or oneness, why is it inconceivable for God to be more than one PERSONS in his divinity? Why is it impossible given that CREATED things being a cause of a God, conveniently demonstrates multiplicity in unity? Take for instance the 3-dimensional space: We know it has the x, y and z plane yet we experience them as ONE. I'm not saying God is Composed, I'm asking, why can't God be even more COMPLEX since his CREATION can be this COMPLEX?
@GameSlack I'm a Christian. According to Christian theology, the scriptures, we have never ever claimed that God is more than ONE being. What we say, but according to scriptures is that, that ONE being in it's nature has a multiplicity of persons. "PERSON" is very different from "BEING".
Stop believing in heresies (beliefs or teachings considered unacceptable by God.) Do as Jesus did. “I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you must also love one another. By this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”--John 13:34
How does Paul forget to mention Quran 5:116? One of the biggest errors of Muhammad. "And when Allah saith: O Jesus, son of Mary! Didst thou say unto mankind: Take me and my mother for two gods beside Allah? he saith: Be glorified! It was not mine to utter that to which I had no right." The orthodox belief was always God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I'm am not Catholic or Greek Orthodox but I know that even today they do not believe Mary is "a god" or the third person of the Trinity. And, just to be clear, I don't agree with how they venerate her. The bible doesn't even teach that Mary is a god or the third person of the Trinity. So, yes, the Quran got the Trinity wrong, therefore the Quran cannot be the words of Allah.
1. This verse does not indicate she is the third person of the Trinity 2. Making her a “Goddess” in Islam is very easy. Shirk is very easy. If one seeks her help or attributes one of Gods attributes to her or something else of this calibre, that is Shirk. I don’t doubt some catholics have done this. 3. There is one sect I know of that took Mary as a Goddess; Collyridianism. This sect emerged in Arabia too so there’s that.
@@muwahh1d1 "And when Allah saith: O Jesus, son of Mary! Didst thou say unto mankind: Take me and my mother for two gods beside Allah?" Allah, Jesus, and Mary (3 gods). In Anisa 171 it reads "do not say 3...." If your understanding is correct, that Mary is a separate goddess alongside the trinity, then there would be 4 gods that Christians allegedly would believe in, so it would still be a contradiction in the Quran.
A HUGE MISUNDERSTANDING: no third divine person, thus no Trinity exist! Jesus has the Father who IS HERE and is a spirit "God is a spirit.". That "Father WHO IS A SPIRIT" is called "FATHER" by Jesus. But inversely the "SPIRIT who is the Father" (nothing changes, He is the same God, Jesus just emphasizes He is a spirit) is called "HOLY SPIRIT" by Jesus. You can figure it out from the speech about the TWO blasphemies, where the second blasphemy of course must be directed to the Father. There Jesus REVEALS us that "Holy Spirit" is the personal name given by Him to the "Spirit who is the Father", in order to distinguish Him from other spirits (e.g., from the Spirit of truth). Therefore "HOLY SPIRIT" is simply a SECOND EQUIVALENT NAME of "FATHER," NOT a third divine person. The two fully EQUIVALENT NAMES are used interchangeably in the various events disclosed by the gospels (Mary's pregnancy, Jesus' baptism (the Father - AKA Holy Spirit - speaks and takes actions in heaven), help given to Jesus in his journey into the wilderness and in speaking, the 2 blasphemies...). You have proof that the name "Holy Spirit" identifies the Father: the Holy Spirit is with Jesus, but you know that THE FATHER is the ONLY ONE Person with Jesus "I am not ALONE because the Father is with me" (reiterated many times in all different ways). Therefore, the Holy Spirit with Jesus can only be the Father, who is the ONLY PERSON there with Him.

This is the way I see it: Allah = God = unipersonal Trinity = tripersonal So Allah could either be one of the persons of the trinity or none of them and which diety in the bible is closest to Allah? That's right the Father! He's the origin of all things, he's the one who created Adam and Eve, he's the one who sent Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, etc, peace be upon them all. It just screams Allah! Therefore, from the Quran's perspective, it makes perfect sense to say that Christians made God the third of 3.
You are wrong, the One who created Adam and Eve, as well as the entire universe is God, His Word and His Spirit. With the Trinity found in the very first verses of the Bible, to indicate the depths of His Being: Genesis 1:1-3 “In the beginning GOD created the heavens and the earth. 2Now the earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep. And the SPIRIT OF GOD was hovering over the surface of the waters. 3And God SAID, “Let there be light,” and there was light.” This introductory passage to the inspired Word of God presents God, His Word, and His Spirit as Creator. And God also can send His Word and His Spirit to save the believing sinners. This is the True God in whom Christians believe.
@@Wassim971 the appropriate conclusion to my previous comment is that God is triune, being simultaneously Father, Son (His Word) and Holy Spirit (His Spirit). It is written that God created Adam in His image (Genesis 1:26 ; Muslim 2841). Does this means that God created a god when He created Adam? Absolutely not. However this means that He created Adam according to His example, according to His model, according to who He is.
@@stephaneamani6476 "the appropriate conclusion to my previous comment is that God is triune, being simultaneously Father, Son (His Word) and Holy Spirit (His Spirit). " I don't care about your forced interpretation of genesis, jews don't interpret it as you do, you know why? This is something that happens with ambiguous verses, they can have many meanings, and you have no right to say that your interpretation is the right one, this is why you should never derive your core doctrines from ambiguous verses. As for the rest of your nonsense, Allah creating Adam peace be upon him in his image simply means that Adam has hearing, sight, can talk, and has a face, hands, and feet. And Allah is all-hearing, all-aware, and all-seeing, can talk, and has a face, hands, and feet. And just like how Adam's hearing, seeing is not like Allah's all-hearing, all-seeing attributes, Adam's hands are not like Allah's hands, his face is not like Allah's face, etc. And all this interpretation is derived from and dictated by CLEAR CUT UNAMBIGUOUS verses from the Quran (42:11) (112:4) (16:74) See unlike you, we don't force our interpretation on ambiguous verses/hadiths, we simply understand them by referring back to clear-cut verses/hadiths, a method that the Quran itself orders us to follow (3:7), and unlike you, we have our scripture preserved in its original Semitic language: Arabic, a language that we still speak! So no need to speculate over the meaning. And that shows how speculative and pathetic your method is compared to ours. So You can go ahead and shove your "body, soul and spirit" nonsense down your scripture's throat but not mine's,
@@Wassim971 If the false god has hands and feet, a mouth and a belly that can process food, why can't he enter his own creation? If he can enter his own creation, then Jesus-Christ should be not be disregarded as what He said He is. If the false god cannot enter his own creation, then the false god is not Almighty and all this attributes useless to him because he does not need them? And the statement created in His image does not make sense, because the false god gives to men things of his own person that he does not need and probably does not have. Also, even some animals have the attributes you mentioned ? Are they also created in the image of the false god? In truth, the only thing that separate us from the rest of the animals is having a soul and a spirit. Because I as said there is depth in our oneness, just as there is depth in God's oneness.
‘Let us make man in our image.’ ? ‘US’ could be referring to the heavenly council. The early Israelites were more henotheists than monotheists. Deuteronomy 32:8-9 and Psalm 82 are evidence. They believed the god El is the head god and the other lesser gods ruled over the nations of the world. The god Yahweh was the god of the Israelites. He was one god among many in the divine council. Deuteronomy 32:8-9 New Revised Standard Version 8 When the Most High[Elyon] apportioned the nations, when he divided humankind, he fixed the boundaries of the peoples according to the number of the gods; 9 Yahweh’s own portion was his people, Jacob his allotted share. Elyon refers to the god El. Michael Heiser writes: [In the spirit of going where angels-or perhaps gods in this case-fear to tread, in my dissertation I asked whether this argumentation and the consensus view of Israelite religion it produces were coherent. I came to the position that Israelite religion included a council of gods (אלהים) and servant angels (מלאכים) under Yahweh-El from its earliest conceptions well into the Common Era. This conception included the idea that Yahweh was “species unique” in the Israelite mind, and so terms such as henotheism, polytheism, and even monolatry are not sufficiently adequate to label the nature of Israelite religion. [Deuteronomy 32:8-9 and Psalm 82 are put forth as rhetorical evidence of this redactional strategy and assumed religious evolution. The argument is put forth that these texts suggest Yahweh was at one time a junior member of the pantheon under El the Most High, but that he has now taken control as king of the gods. Mark S. Smith’s comments are representative: The author of Psalm 82 deposes the older theology, as Israel's deity is called to assume a new role as judge of all the world. Yet at the same time, Psalm 82, like Deut 32:8-9, preserves the outlines of the older theology it is rejecting. From the perspective of this older theology, Yahweh did not belong to the top tier of the pantheon. Instead, in early Israel the god of Israel apparently belonged to the second tier of the pantheon; he was not the presider god, but one of his sons.]
Allah make it obvious in Quran saying " those who say god is three in one have disbelieved " and condomns the other theology of Christianity saying " those who said god is Jesus son of Mary have committed disbelief " meaning both of these theology would end up in hell probably , Islam preserves the monotheism that you can find in the early scripture " the old testament/Judaism theology" the only difference is that Islam isn't a racist religion , there's no such thing as God's chosen people
Paul, God has warned us not to compare God to anything because he is none of those things.( sun, mother,or father, holy sprit) do not compare. This is from God.☝️
A Muslim believe in absolute ONE God, without partner. When you believe otherwise, you cannot claimed be a Muslim. The ruling is clear. What I know from some of my Christian friends here in Singapore, they claimed to be Christians, they believed in 3in1 (they believe they are saved and will be in paradise), but they also believed in Buddha. The friend told me the more she believe the safer. Another friend attended church every Sunday, and went to temple some other day to pray. Confusing to me. 🤔
Islam rejects all physical son, three Gods or the different reflection of God!! First two are too obvious i think while third one is quite tricky because Islam also believes God might reflect a part of his image and power on Earth with miracles so Islam isn't exactly against it. But the problem is that Jesus was a man so God reflected his image as mankind who are considered as unholy in all Abrahamic religions!! On the other hand Muhammad for example refused to be portrayed because he was just a mere man and messenger not a divine figure at all while asking Muslims to pray for Allah not him. And exactly same goes for Angels that you can't find Angels potrayed as humanoids in Islam as they are sacred beings who again wouldn't lower themselves by taking the shape of mankind. I guess the best place to see this difference is Hagia Sophia that Ottoman plastered pretty much all Christian mosaics while converting the Church into a Mosque but not because they were Christian mosaics rather because there are humanoids in them!! While four Archangels around the dome weren't potrayed as humanoids and they were never plastered rather millions of Muslims prayed under them for centuries: worldhistory .org/uploads/images/12473.jpg?v=1599215403 (RUclips's moronity) The real difference between Christianity and Islam is so small and in reality Ottoman etc never declared a holy war against ''heathen'' Christian world rather focused on Europe simply because it was richer than all other targets!! Several centuries later Christian powers invaded half of the world for oil and other natural resources and even if they actually tried to convert local populations way more it isn't somewhat considered as a great aggression or holy war rather just colonialism!! The sad truth is all those empires wrote what were the most benefical ''versions'' aka lies and i think Trinity is a part of this. Im sure Muslim empires would also write their own versions of Quran if there weren't already many copies of Quran ofc. And sadly they could do that with Hadiths that there are over a million hadiths today, while vast majority of them are fake. For example there are hadiths left from Ummayad era declaring Arabic people as a holy race and fabricating most of sharia law while there is absolutely nothing about sharia law nor supreme Arabs in Quran...
1- Brother Paul, peace be upon you. Do you think that non-Jews are the ones who distorted the religion of Christ, peace be upon him, by mixing it with their pagan religion? 2- One of the things that shocked me is that the Jews believe that there are two divine persons in heaven, one of whom is called Jehovah, whom the Jews believe in, and there Jehovah is lower than him, according to the interpretation of their rabbis, that he is a great angel entrusted with the affairs of Israel, so I do not know why They attribute divinity to an angel 3- They also describe Sakinah the Lord as the bride of Jehovah and that she will not return to Him until her children return their land or something like that (note the description of Sakinah as if it is a separate personality from God and has feminine attributes) 4-Muslims are the only ones who are safe from describing God Almighty with something that does not befit his majesty A far cry from some of the ideas that I say are clearly polytheistic

Who is Paraclete whose name is mentioned in the Bible?
HZ. MUHAMMAD (PBUH) IN THE BIBLE
1- (John 14: 16,17): Jesus said; “If you love me, you will obey my commandments. Then I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Paraclete to be with you forever -“
2- (John 14: 26): Jesus said; “But the Paraclete, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and will cause you to remember everything I said to you.”
3- (John 14: 29): Jesus said; “I have told you now before the Paraclete comes, so that when he comes you may believe.”
4- (John 15: 26): Jesus said; “When the Paraclete comes, whom I will send you from the Father - will testify about me…”
5- (John 16: 7): Jesus said; “But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I am going away. For if I do not go away, the Paraclete will not come to you, but if I go, I will send him to you.”
6- (John 16: 13): Jesus said; “… But when the Paraclete comes, he will guide you into all truth. For he will not speak on his own authority, but will speak whatever he hears, and will tell you what is to come.”
7- (John 16: 14): Jesus said; “… The Paraclate will glorify me, because he will receive from me what is mine and will tell it to you.”
The original form of the Biblical expression given above as Paraclete and given as good news by the Prophet Jesus (PBUH) is “Munhamenna” in Syriac and “Periklytos” in Greek.
(See. Saff, 61/6)
And also all characteristics mentioned above are owned only by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Why do we have to struggle dissecting every claims, evidence, and arguments if God can just help us find an unequivocal way of knowing his particular truth?
If God really is a loving Father who cares and desires for his children to know the objective truth, shouldn’t he be the one responsible clarifying all of this confusion?

@Jesus Is The Son Of God it's just an assertion of Paul, not of jesus. Even the concept of original sin, and someone dying for the sins of anyone else....all these concepts are not only gross innovations rather a contradiction with the Mosaic law. Jesus said "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. A little girl baffled by it all, trying so hard to decipher the indecipherable. Alhamdulillah, I accepted Islam. God is One. Jesus, peace be upon him, is a prophet of God. It's so straightforward. There is none worthy of worship but Allah and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.

Alhamdullilah, welcome to ISlam sister.

Where is the Quran saying that Mary is part of the trinity? The Quran does say that people will woship Mary, which is no doubt true. Just go to a catholic country.

The Trinity that God has revealed through His inspired Word, can even be found in the *first three verses* of the Bible, Genesis 1:1-3 :
"In the beginning GOD created the heavens and the earth.
2Now the earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep. And the SPIRIT OF GOD was hovering over the surface of the waters.
3And GOD SAID, “Let there be light,” and there was light."
In these introductory verses of the true inspired Word of God, it is clearly depicted that God, His Word, and His Spirit (outside of the creation) simultaneously act as Creator. And God can send His Word and His Spirit to save the believing sinners, by making His Salvation available through Jesus-Christ (The Word of God, The Son) and through His Holy Spirit. - references John 1:1-14 ; John 3:5
Regarding Deuteronomy 6:4 : the original Hebrew states: “Shema Israel, Adonai Elohenu Adonai echad.”
First note, that the declaration of faith has the titles of God repeated three times here, implying there is indeed a Trinity in the Godhood.

@@mhhassan23 I have a question
In Quran 5:73 it talks about a trinity and in 5:75 it clarifies that Jesus and Mary are not god.
Has Islam Misunderstood Christianity? by Bassam Zawadi
Argument no. 2: The Qur’an Identifies the Trinity as Allah, Jesus, and Mary
Nowhere do the Islamic sources explicitly identify the three persons of the Trinity.
It was not for me to say what I had no right (to say).”
This is simply a verse disapproving of the worship of Jesus and Mary besides Allah and also exonerates Jesus from having advised his followers to worship him and Mary.
Professor of Christianity and Islam at the University of Birmingham, Dave Thomas, said in his article entitled “Trinity” in the Encylopedia of Islam vol 5, pages 369-370 in regards to Surah 5, Ayah 116:
“Strictly speaking, this verse need not be read as a reference to a version of the Trinity but rather as an example of shirk, claiming divinity for beings other than God (see Idolatry and Idolaters). As such, it could be understood as a warning against excessive devotion to Jesus and extravagant veneration of Mary, a reminder linked to the central theme of the Qur’an that there is only one God and he alone is to be worshipped (see worship).
….. and then he continues on to say:
If, on the other hand, there is no sectarian version of Christian doctrine being addressed in this verse, it need not be read as a rejection of a deviant doctrine of the Trinity but as a denial that Jesus and Maryam are equal with God, and a warning (q.v.) against making excessive claims about them. Thus, it can be understood as an instance of the warning against the divinization of Jesus that is given elsewhere in the Qur’an and a warning against the virtual divinization of Mary in the declarations of the fifth-century church councils that she is theotokos, “God-bearer.”
Islamic historian Heribert Busse said on page 23 of his book, Islam, Judaism and Christianity: theological and historical affiliations:
“There is reference in the Koran to an odd understanding of the Trinity. God asked Jesus if he taught the following: “Take me and my mother as gods, apart from God” (5:116). Jesus answered negatively, of course. The obvious assumption here, that Muhammad made a mistake in listing the three persons of the one Godhead, can be countered with the assumption that the reference was to the Collyridians, a Christian sect that worshipped the Virgin Mary.”
He then continues on to say:
“With respect to the cited Koran passage, Muhammad was most likely referring to such a Christian sect. This is in any case more plausible than assuming that the Prophet defined the Trinity in such an erroneous manner out of pure ignorance.”
Indeed, it’s highly unlikely that the author of the Qur’an would have made this mistake, especially since we have no record of any Christians arguing this point against Muhammad (peace be upon him), while Islamic sources have not shied away from mentioning Christian arguments against Muslims, and plus, there were Christian converts such as Salman Al Faarisi, ‘Adi ibn Hatim, and others who were around that could have corrected the Prophet (peace be upon him), but they never did because they didn’t understand the Qur’an to be saying that Mary was part of the Trinity.
The next verse in question is Surah 5, Ayah 73, which states: “Surely, disbelievers are those who said: “Allah is the third of a three.”
Professor Dave Thomas, on page 369 of the same article, said in regards to Surah 5, Ayah 73:
“It has been suggested that this verse criticizes a deviant form of Trinitarian belief which overstressed the distinctiveness of the three persons at the expense of their unity as substance (Masson, Coran, 93; Watt-Bell, Introduction, 158). It has also been noted that, in fact, this is not a reference to the Trinity but to Jesus, who in Syriac literature was often called “the third of three” (Griffith, Christians and Christianity, 312-13). By this reading Q 5:73 must be seen as constituting part of a sustained criticism of the belief in the divinity of Christ that occupies the whole of Q 5:72-75, i.e. an emphatic repetition of the criticism in verse 72 that God and Christ are identical (see Christians and Christianity; Polemic and Polemical Language).”
Again, this goes to show that the verse is not clearly saying that all Christians believe that Mary was part of a Trinity.

It was not for me to say that to which I have no right. If I had said it, You would have known it. You know what is within myself, and I do not know what is within Yourself.

Catholics are their modern-day counterpart as they:
- Sing praises to her
- Pray to her
- Make icons of her
- Mention her in every prayer
As usual fascinating presentation.

God in Quraan is correcting illogical believe in trinity, in fact there are 3 entities in the trinity which are independent of each other, thats why Quraan says 3, and also if you say that one entity has property of God, by only say that, you are associating God with other. That what christianity cannot understand in true monotheism. and their trinity is not monotheism.
The trinitarian Christians believe in three gods. The trinity dogma is therefore tritheism. It is not holy at all, it is a blasphemy.

There is a sense of pagan Greek logos theology there but the Trinity is a false doctrine
Timothy 2:5-6 For *there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people.* This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.
Trinity is false doctrine
Acts 2:22 “Fellow Israelites, listen to this: *Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him,* as you yourselves know.

@@johnbrzykcy3076
Yes, it's based on the "Son of Man" in Daniel 7:13-14, which even Rabbinic commentators like Rashi acknowledge is talking about the Messiah. The interesting thing is, the Son of Man is described as "coming in the clouds" and this is a description used for God alone in the Hebrew Bible.
If you're interested, here's some relevant quotations from Jewish scholars of Judaism explaining this idea:
From Jacob Neusner:
"the system laid out in the Mishnah takes up and disposes of those critical issues of teleology worked out through messianic eschatology in other, earlier versions of Judaism. These earlier systems resorted to the myth of the Messiah as saviour and redeemer of Israel, a supernatural figure engaged in political-historical tasks as king of the Jews, even a God-man facing the crucial historical questions of Israel’s life and resolving them"
-- Neusner, Jacob, et al., Judaisms and their Messiahs, Cambridge University Press, 1987, p. 275
“The Mishnah’s mode in turn drastically modified the Messiah-myth. […] the Mishnah’s system ended up wholly definitive for Judaism...” - Ibid., p. 281
“As to the Mishnah’s part of the canon, at the beginning the authors wished so far as possible to avoid all reliance upon the Messiah as an apocalyptic figure. Even the language was given a meaning not primary in the prior writings, “messiah” as (mere) high priest, “messiah” as something other than eschatological saviour, whether priest or general, whether from David’s line or the house of Joseph.” - Ibid., p. 280
From David Flusser:
“The Son of Man is a sublime figure, towering above the angels and preceding the creation of the world, a hidden figure that will only appear in the end of days. During the eschatological drama, the Son of Man is charged with revealing God’s secrets, and with sitting on the throne of God’s glory and meting out justice in the eschatological judgments.”
- Flusser, David, Judaism of the Second Temple Period: Volume 2, Eerdman’s Publishing Co., 2009, p. 262
“Jesus expects a super-human judge, whom he calls the ‘Son of Man,’ to appear in the end of days…” - Ibid., p. 260
“As we will see, the Son of Man is identified in many Jewish sources with the Messiah and this was almost certainly Jesus’s view as well. […] Even though in the Jewish sources and in Jesus’s dicta Son of Man refers to a superhuman entity, the term became suspect in the early church.” -- Ibid., p. 261
“The reason the epithet ‘Son of Man’ was marginalized so thoroughly in the early church is that its original meaning was lost and it became incomprehensible. Moreover, it was understood literally: Jesus is the son of a human being.” -- Ibid., p. 261
From Daniel Boyarin:
“According to the first view, [of Christology] which has been popular among liberal Protestants for over a century, the idea of the divinity of Christ could only have been a relatively late “Gentile” development that marks a decisive break with anything that could reasonably be called Jewish. […] A second approach, currently enjoying ascendance especially among New Testament scholars, sees the earliest versions of high Christology as emerging within a Jewish religious context. I submit that it is possible to understand the Gospel only if both Jesus and the Jews around him held to a high Christology whereby the claim to Messiahship was also a claim to being a divine man.”
- Boyarin, Daniel, The Jewish Gospels, The New Press, 2012 pp. 54-55
“We find in Aphrahat, the fourth-century Iranian Father of the Church, the following attack on the interpretation (presumably by Jews) that makes the ‘one like a Son of Man’ out to be the people of Israel: ‘Have the children of Israel received the kingdom of the Most High? 39-40
“This ‘firmly secular’ account with a further story about how the Jews would never have thought of a ‘supernatural Hellenistic Messiah,’ and that the idea of a dying and resurrecting Jesus could only have come in via ‘a Neolithic vegetation spirit, the ‘dying god’ of the Near East.’ Even from a purely historical point of view, this account, cited here as typical of so many, can have no purchase, as it totally ignores the Jewish history of the divine, ‘supernatural’ Redeemer that we have been exploring throughout this book.” - ibid., p. 127-8

@@ConsideringPhlebas The title "Son of God" is not the one which implies divinity, but rather, and somewhat ironically, "Son of Man", which does imply divinity…"
Son of Man does not imply divinity. A single verse will suffice: "In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into His presence." Dan 7 : 13. Was God led into the presence of God? The Son of Man is clearly not God.
"Even Jewish Scholars like David Flusser, Daniel Boyarin and Jacob Neusner acknowledge that pre-rabbinic Judaism contained the belief in a divine Messiah…"
This is largely a misrepresentation of what these scholars have to say (your long-winded attempt to quote each one at length notwithstanding).
The situation is far worse with Flusser, who acknowledges first and foremost that Geza Vermes was absolutely correct in concluding that the locution "bar-nashah" (Son of Man) was merely a Palestinian-Aramaic colloquialism meaning "me", and it would have had no other significance for Jesus whatsoever!
"I could go on citing scholarship on this issue, but you get the point. lol"
Yes please. Continue your massive self-own by citing these scholars. lol

Back for another tanning are you?
"Was God led into the presence of God? The Son of Man is clearly not God."
Translation: "He can't be divine because he doesn't fit my subjective criteria of what constitutes divinity."
You're applying Muslim exegetical standards to the text not Biblical exegetical standards.
"This is largely a misrepresentation of what these scholars have to say"

Lol. I specified that Neusner was Jewish when I wrote my reponse to John Brzykcy. My claim, O reading-impaired one, was not that Neusner agreed with Christianity but that he acknowledged the existence in ancient Judaism of the belief in a divine Messiah.
"the locution "bar-nashah" (Son of Man) was merely a Palestinian-Aramaic colloquialism meaning "me""
It doesn't mean 'me,' it means 'a person'/'human', etc.:
cal.huc.edu/oneentry.php?lemma=br%40%29n%24+N&cits=all
"Flusser circumvents this by insisting that Jesus did not speak or teach in Aramaic, but in Hebrew! And that's just crazy"
It's actually entirely possible that Jesus spoke colloquially in Aramaic but used Hebrew terminology when communicating a specific concept. You can observe this in the New Testament itself which, though written in Greek, contains many Hebrew and Aramaic terms, including Hebrew terms that Jesus himself used, like 'Gehenna,' 'Amen,' 'Satan,' 'Mammon,' etc.:
bibtheo.com/2020/02/04/aramaicgnt/
Flusser doesn't say that Jesus went around speaking Hebrew at all times, only that when he mentioned the Son of Man, he used the Hebrew phrase ben Adam:
"If Jesus spoke of this figure in Hebrew, he referred to it as ben adam."
-- Flusser, David, Judaism of the Second Temple Period: Volume 2, Eerdman’s Publishing Co., 2009, p. 264
So in fact there's nothing "crazy" at all about Flusser's thesis that Jesus could have used Hebrew terminology to communicate specific concepts, as we find this repeatedly in the New Testament itself.
""ben Adam", which he [Flusser] then endows with a whole host of Messianic meanings based upon the appearance of the phrase - not in the Bible - but in the Testament of Abraham"
Not just in the Testament of Abraham, but also in the Book of Enoch/1 Enoch and 4 Ezra. See Ibid., pp 262-3.
He also states in the same passage that these texts share a common lineage with the passage in Daniel 7:13 and are also influenced by it, so the Son of Man is a Biblical concept:
"the Son of Man figure likely preceded the Book of Daniel, as it appears there in a secondary role. Other Jewish sources affirm this hypothesis, for while they are often influenced by the Son of Man passages in Daniel, they nonetheless assume their readers' familiarity with the figure." -- Ibid., p. 262
Even the highly influential medieval rabbinic Jewish commentators Rashi and Ibn Ezra acknowledge the Messianic view of the Son of Man, and their view of course is taken from the **Biblical** passage of Daniel 7:13:
Rashi: "one like a man was coming That is the King Messiah."
www.sefaria.org/Daniel.7.13?lang=bi&with=Rashi&lang2=en
“Ibn Ezra, who endorses the collective interpretation, also acknowledges the currency of the messianic view.” - Collins, John J., Daniel: Hermeneia Commentary, Fortress Press, 1993, p. 307 (footnote 265)
"you clearly left out"
As the above shows, YOU're clearly the one leaving stuff out here, boyo.
"Your citation of Boyarin is perhaps the most outrageous of all!"
It really isn't. This is just your chutzpah talking.
"He argues that the investiture of a "Son of Man" in Daniel 7 is a recapitulation of the Canaanite saga in which El the High God frequently invests a lesser God of the same pantheon with greater authority."
No, that's just the scholarly view on the origin of the motif. The Bible uses various Canaanite motifs as vehicles for its own metaphysical views, so this is nothing remarkable. See an obvious example like Isaiah 27:1.
Boyarin's view as to the origin of the Biblical narrative is:
"‘Rabbi Aqiva’ perceives two divine figures in heaven, one God the Father and one an apotheosized king David. […] I have presented the bases for my own conclusion that such was the original meaning of the text as well; see Daniel Boyarin, ‘Daniel 7, Intertextuality and the History of Israel’s Cult.'"
- Boyarin, D., The Jewish Gospels, The New Press, 2012, p. 40-1 (footnote text)
"****Boyarin then argues that Christianity, as represented by the Gospels, did not follow 2nd Temple Judaism (but rather broke with 2nd Temple Judaism)***** by re-affirming this older polytheistic belief in multiple Gods (a High God and a lesser God) which had been suppressed in the meantime. So sure, quote Boyarin all you want, but you left out the part where ****he says the 1st century Christians were closer to the Canaanites than they were to the Jews!****"
This is just a massive misrepresentation of Boyarin's view and the colouring of it with your own anti-Christian polemic, as would be painfully obvious to anyone who had read the ***Jewish Gospels*** by Boyarin. I'll let Boyarin himself deliver the final, fatal blow to your mendacious monologue:
"On the other hand, Jews will have to stop vilifying Christian ideas about God as simply a collection of 'un-Jewish,' perhaps pagan, and in any case bizarre fantasies. 6-7

"You're applying Muslim exegetical standards to the text…"
I'm an Atheist. That's an epic fail on your part :)
"So when Boyarin writes, as clear as day that… I'm misrepresenting his views?"
Yes.
"My claim, O reading impaired one, was not that Neusner agreed with Christianity…"
My criticism highlighted important info which can't be dismissed by simply saying: "well he's Jewish." It's not Neusner's personal bias, but rather his analysis - i.e. the superstructure of his scholarship on this issue - which excludes Jesus from being the Messianic Son of Man. Again, to liberate a portion of that analysis which seems to favor Christian claims, without mentioning the fact that this same analysis disallows the real-world identification of Jesus with Neusner's Messianic Son of Man, is a misrepresentation.
"It doesn't mean 'me'. It means a person/human etc."
I was referring to Geza Vermes' assessment of the locution "bar-nashah." Vermes, who was an expert on Palestinian-Aramaic, said this: "The [phrase] was used in a generic and/or indefinite sense but also as a circumlocution for 'I', having the meaning 'someone like me.'" (Vermes. Jews and the World of Judaism. Fortress Press, 1984, p. 90) My paraphrase wasn't precise, but your criticism is futile.
"Flusser didn't say that Jesus went around speaking Hebrew at all times…"
WRONG. A single citation will suffice:
"It is possible that Jesus did, from time to time, make use of the Aramaic language. But during that time, Hebrew was both the daily language and the language of study. The Gospel of Mark contains a few Aramaic words, and this is what misled scholars." Flusser. Jewish Sources in Early Christianity, Adama Books: NY, 1987. p. 11
Flusser came down hard on the side of a Hebrew-speaking Jesus, with little to no Aramaic. He also admits that this contradicts the opinion of major scholars in the field, and I myself see no evidence for Flusser's radical position.
"No that's just the scholarly view on the origin of the motif…"
Convenient.
In his own words:
"The theology of the Gospels, far from being a radical innovation within the Israelite religious tradition, is a highly conservative return to the very most ancient moments within that tradition - moments that had been largely suppressed in the meantime - but not entirely." Jewish Gospels p.

@GameSlack Is the eternal Quran separate from ALLAH?
@GameSlack I'm a Christian. According to Christian theology, the scriptures, we have never ever claimed that God is more than ONE being.
What we say, but according to scriptures is that, that ONE being in it's nature has a multiplicity of persons.
"PERSON" is very different from "BEING".
@GameSlack Are you saying there is no eternal tablet? The Kitaab???
Stop believing in heresies (beliefs or teachings considered unacceptable by God.) Do as Jesus did. “I give you a new command: Love one another.
1. This verse does not indicate she is the third person of the Trinity
Didst thou say unto mankind: Take me and my mother for two gods beside Allah?"
Allah, Jesus, and Mary (3 gods). In Anisa 171 it reads "do not say 3...." If your understanding is correct, that Mary is a separate goddess alongside the trinity, then there would be 4 gods that Christians allegedly would believe in, so it would still be a contradiction in the Quran.
Congratulations to the angel Gabriel for being the father of Isa!!! Gabriel really created a fine human being!
The Holy Quran refutes the pagan man-made lie that is the trinity. Crosstian apologists claims are so weak.
The Holey Quran

JESUS SAW ROMANS TORTURING JEWS n OTHERS.JESUS COULDN'T STOP ROMANS FROM DOING SO. IS JESUS GOD? NO WAY
Jesus failed to convince, that he is God for Jews or Romans in his life time. Jesus No God what a failure what a shame.
Leave Jews Jesus failed to convince Romans that he God. Romans wouldn't have tortured him. what a failure
This is the way I see it:
Allah = God = unipersonal
Trinity = tripersonal
So Allah could either be one of the persons of the trinity or none of them and which diety in the bible is closest to Allah? That's right the Father! He's the origin of all things, he's the one who created Adam and Eve, he's the one who sent Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, etc, peace be upon them all. It just screams Allah!
Therefore, from the Quran's perspective, it makes perfect sense to say that Christians made God the third of 3.
You are wrong, the One who created Adam and Eve, as well as the entire universe is God, His Word and His Spirit.
With the Trinity found in the very first verses of the Bible, to indicate the depths of His Being:
Genesis 1:1-3 “In the beginning GOD created the heavens and the earth.
2Now the earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep. And the SPIRIT OF GOD was hovering over the surface of the waters. 3And God SAID, “Let there be light,” and there was light.”
This introductory passage to the inspired Word of God presents God, His Word, and His Spirit as Creator. And God also can send His Word and His Spirit to save the believing sinners.
This is the True God in whom Christians believe.

It is written that God created Adam in His image (Genesis 1:26 ; Muslim 2841). Does this means that God created a god when He created Adam? Absolutely not. However this means that He created Adam according to His example, according to His model, according to who He is.

I don't care about your forced interpretation of genesis, jews don't interpret it as you do, you know why?
And all this interpretation is derived from and dictated by CLEAR CUT UNAMBIGUOUS verses from the Quran (42:11) (112:4) (16:74)
See unlike you, we don't force our interpretation on ambiguous verses/hadiths, we simply understand them by referring back to clear-cut verses/hadiths, a method that the Quran itself orders us to follow (3:7), and unlike you, we have our scripture preserved in its original Semitic language: Arabic, a language that we still speak! So no need to speculate over the meaning. And that shows how speculative and pathetic your method is compared to ours. So You can go ahead and shove your "body, soul and spirit" nonsense down your scripture's throat but not mine's,

Deuteronomy 32:8-9
New Revised Standard Version
8 When the Most High[Elyon] apportioned the nations, when he divided humankind, he fixed the boundaries of the peoples according to the number of the gods;
9 Yahweh’s own portion was his people, Jacob his allotted share.
Elyon refers to the god El.
Michael Heiser writes:
[In the spirit of going where angels-or perhaps gods in this case-fear to tread, in my dissertation I asked whether this argumentation and the consensus view of Israelite religion it produces were coherent.
Mark S. Smith’s comments are representative:
The author of Psalm 82 deposes the older theology, as Israel's deity is called to assume a new role as judge of all the world.

While four Archangels around the dome weren't potrayed as humanoids and they were never plastered rather millions of Muslims prayed under them for centuries:
worldhistory .org/uploads/images/12473.jpg?v=1599215403 (RUclips's moronity)
The real difference between Christianity and Islam is so small and in reality Ottoman etc never declared a holy war against ''heathen'' Christian world rather focused on Europe simply because it was richer than all other targets!!

2- One of the things that shocked me is that the Jews believe that there are two divine persons in heaven, one of whom is called Jehovah, whom the Jews believe in, and there Jehovah is lower than him, according to the interpretation of their rabbis, that he is a great angel entrusted with the affairs of Israel, so I do not know why
They attribute divinity to an angel
3- They also describe Sakinah the Lord as the bride of Jehovah and that she will not return to Him until her children return their land or something like that (note the description of Sakinah as if it is a separate personality from God and has feminine attributes)
4-Muslims are the only ones who are safe from describing God Almighty with something that does not befit his majesty
