- In this video I wanted to show garbage trucks dumping their loads at this transfer station.
Also the fact of how much liquid each of these trucks had when they dumped!
We get to see a few different trucks show off their skills unloading their full garage trucks of trash in to the transfer station.
Watch as these garbage trucks eject loads of garbage.

Over 4" of rain in less than 48 hours since sunday evening. Together with that wind, a lot of rural and suburban cans were left with their lids blown open or the high Christmas load heaping over the top. Thankfully today the drivers have hydraulic lifts for the cans. When I first started my Garbarino account, the drivers were still hoisting the cans by hand. I've had the same account for near 35 years. Back then, everyone knew the drivers by name and because the schedule was not so hectic as today, lots of good ol' neighbor visiting got done.👍
So much rain! That wind we had this Tuesday was a nightmare. I was doing residential recycling and the amount of cans that were blown over was ridiculous! Garbage and recycling was blown all over the place. I felt really bad but there was nothing I could do. I trotted to clean it up the best i could but it was a disaster.
Yep I remember our old skinny garbage men would come down and load those small cans into there bigger cans and they would tote those to there truck like it was was nothing.

Next step process video's would be great.
Like is the liquid seperated from solid or is it all transfered and dumped in landfills.
Then of course video's on the landfill process as well since this is not just dumping and burring.
The whole process in video's in depth would be alright with me.

@@Utubin hey! That would be a great video idea! It won’t be as easy to gain access to the landfill though. Since I work here as a driver I pretty much have full access of this transfer station. If I get an opportunity to film at the landfill I will! Thanks for watching!

I can not begin to imagine the smell that is being created from that
its gross but you get use to the smell after awhile
When I was a kid in the 70s there was an incinerator in my city where the city and other area cities emptied their trucks. My father was a firefighter and knew a lot of city workers so he;d be able to get me in to see the furnace, the dumping, the crane. Even got to ride in the crane once loading the furnace. Don't know why, but I liked the smell of the garbage!
Same thing with the dump in Sunappee, NH when we vacationed there. It was an open dump with burning garbage and the typical old timer sitting in an old lawn chair with an old dog watching the dump and tending the fires. There were occasionally bears there too! Again, the smell was great, burning garbage!

I remember the landfills and scrap iron yards well.
We used to get bike parts and later mower parts to make our own.

In Scotland the waste liquid ejected from a refuse truck is known as 'bin juice'.
I've always called it "Garbage Juice!" Haha!

Looks like the potato dumpster is full again lol…I can’t believe that’s not a direct landfill can…you would think it would leak out of the trailer.
This load shows up almost daily. He has even dumped it twice in the same day. Yes it should go straight to the landfill. The only problem is it’s loaded in open top container so the driver doesn’t want to drive to far with it because if he had to slam on the brakes it would slosh out over the top. Thanks for watching!
I loved this, gonna watch again! It really bugs me seeing all that water that comes out under the ejector blades when the trucks pull forward 😅 the OCD in me wants it all out before the back end is closed! As always man great work 🇬🇧💪🏽🙏🏽
Alright! Yes I know what you mean. As a garbage truck driver my self I also want all the liquids and bits to come out each time. Sometimes I will spend a few minutes after I dump and use the fire hose and spray it all down. Even still though it’s never perfect which bugs me also.
@@AllThingsDope. ah your a driver too! That’s wicked, before my railway career I was a loader many years ago here in the uk, was great fun. I remember washing the truck down on Friday afternoons but we never did the inside! Look forward to the next man 💪🏽

Thank you🙏. I have come really close. When I first started this job after I dumped my garage truck I had to clean out behind the packer blade for the first time and I was NOT prepared for what I found🤣 it was worse than I could have imagined. Now that I have done it for so many years it not as bad.

I am in Los Angeles. More and more places are taking the liquid and putting it in digesters making natural gas and fertilizer.

The worst way to die has to be to get trapped inside an empty one of these right when the morning shift starts and all you have is a flashlight and you can hear the driver just arriving and starting up the engine.. MacGyver yourself out of that! Does it start to compact all the way to the end everytime or would you be alive until it starts getting full ?

This trucks comes in every day. He has even dumped it twice in the same day. Once first thing in the morning and then again at the end of the day. Crazy to me how much potato salad waste there is. Thanks for watching!

How do the 53" truck drivers know when its full?
So once the trailer is full the worker who is in the crane smashing down the trash to level it will click the grappler claws together 3 times. It very load so the person in the truck will hear it and know that he is clear to pull the truck around to weight it.

Had a small time guy who had an old garbage truck that apparently used to have a couple small accounts near my fire station. I hated when we worked the days he had pick ups in the area. That thing leaked swill all over the streets in the area and it turned in front of the station and many a hot afternoon we'd have to go hose off the ramp and street in front of the station to avoid tracking that stinking liquid into the station on the truck tires. Fucking disgusting!
That’s slim is terrible on hot days. The smell travels with the wind and permeates everything. Water seams to help dilute the smell though. So I guess it’s good you had access to fire hose at the station!

I haven’t heard of anyone falling in. We have seen rats jump in off the ledge though.
All that liquid does it leak out the trailer or does it stay?
It depends on which trailer it gets loaded in. They have mostly newer trailers. They still do have a few older ones and those one will leak out the liquids all over the parking lot.

It’s being loaded into a 53’ open top trailer that is in the pit. The it gets hauled off to the land fill after it is full.

Where do the trucks go after they fill up in the pit and what happens to the garbage ?
The garbage gets loaded into a 53 foot trailer. After is full, gets hauled off to the landfill to be dumped.
