I really like the new update. A feature I really love is that the camera now stays adjusted. For example, in 0.30, if I wanted to drive the Hirochi Aero (a bus on the Repo) it would always center the camera upon driving. Now, I can put it more towards the bottom, so I can see the RPM gauge while driving. The new truck is interesting, but I am sad how they handled the gearbox. I had hoped they would go the ETS/ATS route, and include a splitter gearbox so you can shift the 12 gears it used to have. At least, with the 5 speed, it now reaches 140 km/h in the overdrive setting.
I hate the new realistic gearbox mostly because there is barely any sound - no massive skkkhhrrg. I found with the trucks that there is no sound at all because the engine is too loud for the new rattling sound Also, holding the clutch after a failed shift doest even attempt to put it back into gear half the time.. synchronizer doesnt feel nice
It was like that with the camera not centering many years ago i believe, but they switched to the new system and switched back to the non center camera for some reason.
I absolutely love that the devs are sticking to beamng, i'd say it's easily the best car sandbox game, I just wish they could implement multiplayer natively but I get it's really hard due to the nature of the game
@@Parker_Vanslyke I know I have more than 100 hours on bemmp. Just wish it was easier to set up and do activities and if it was just a little more reliable... Also wish there was some kind of lod system for the cars if in mp, framerate tanks to like 10 fps when ur 5 or more on a server

"You can now use vehicle triggers (such as door handles, etc.) of any vehicle without having to leave the current vehicle. For example, you can operate triggers on trailers without leaving the truck they are attached to"
Also another crazy thing from the notes for the career mode, "Just like real life, you can customize the coverage of each policy, changing their respective “premium” (an amount of money the player has to pay every X kms to renew their insurance policy)" You now have to worry about renewing insurance IRL and in BeamNG.
7:45 I played around with the new T series and trailers last night; and I discovered something amazing whilst in the driver view concerning the pneumatic simulation: if the air pressure is below a certain level, a warning buzzer will sound just like in a real truck, as well as the brakes will lock on until the pressure is above that threshold! The air compressor will also shut off when the air pressure is at its maximum value just like a real truck!

The update is really great, im really curious if they'll actually implement european truck, I think they also need to remaster the Wentward. I want a fully interactable bus so bad

In most sims your cursor switches to a palm to indicate that what you’re hovering over can be interacted with. I guess the boxes are here to differentiate what we can and cannot mess with, since it’s not the same on all the cars. But yeah I hate them so bad ☠️
@MuYe it's broken at the moment but if you toggle hud on, interact with a button then toggle off, it will allow you to use the buttons with no hud. It's finicky and I've experienced the exact problem you bring up, but it can be remedied.

This is because in a normal 20 foot tank container you can already easily fit so much product that you'll exceed the roads weight limit. Of course it depends on the product, not every chemical has the same weight. 675 liters of poly phosphoric acid already weighs 1400 kilograms for example. At my place of work we also have 30 foot tank containers, they're basically smaller diameter tanks that are simply longer.
Now I just want a tow truck. Just a simple coupler on the front/back of vehicles. Even a way to lock the vehicle onto the flatbed tow truck would be awesome
Now we need a Moonhawk Remaster, given it is based off of a 73-77 Chevy Chevelle we need a sedan, a wagon, and a ute, but also since the Chevelle was on the GM A Body, it's possible to make a new vehicle based on the Monte Carlo (Slash other Personal Luxury Cars of the time) that is mostly just Moonhawk parts but in a new body that is a little bit longer than the Moonhawk
I'm really surprised that they didn't add in a fire engine uplift for the T-Series. I hope they add one down the road. Also, If you spawn the cab over or conventional dump truck you can select the cement mixer (WIP) via the uplift selector. Its pretty cool and does have some function.
Honestly my favorite part is the sound redesign! One thing about beamng that I’ve always hated are the fake-sounding, unrealistic engine sounds. There’s much more rumble and less unrealism in the truck engine.
This is our first internally created engine/exhaust sound. We can now start looking at improving things properly. It will take time and significant financial investment, so be patient.
Collaboration? They don't need to collab with no one. Check career mode and they've already began delivery system similar to ATS/ETS2 but for the cars and you have to purchase cargo boxes to be able to haul the goods. Why the fuck will the collaborate when both studios working tirelessly on their own software.

4:59 The 4090 can't help you there, you're CPU limited, not GPU limited. I play at 4K with a 5800X + 4x8GB 3866MHz CL16 + 6800 XT and if I max out the mirror and reflections I drop to 59 FPS in the same spot. But if I'm conservative with the mirror + reflections setting and don't fully crank the detail and distance slider, I can sit at a comfortable 67-70 FPS in the same spot, which is not ideal, but it's fine.
Don’t think my 7950X is causing any bottlenecks lmao. I have everything cracked up to the highest settings, and the dynamic mirrors just add rendering complexity on top of that. It’s more of an API limitation, which is why Vulkan doubled my frames. Otherwise, if it were a CPU bottleneck, nothing would’ve changed.
@@MuYe You're correct that the API is the root of the problem, but this is because DX11 has significantly higher CPU overhead for draw call scheduling than Vulkan does, and nVidia's DX11 driver also has higher CPU overhead due to the driver creating an additional software layer between the CPU and GPU in order to multithread DX11 draw call scheduling. Basically the easiest way to tell if you're CPU bottlenecked is to look at your GPU utilization. Any time your GPU is not at 99-100% utilization, that indicates that the CPU is not feeding the GPU new frame data fast enough. With my 6800 XT on 4K maxed everything in Beam in the same spot on West Coast, I'm sitting at around 70-80% GPU utilization, so I'd expect the 4090 to have even lower utilization in that spot. But if your GPU is actually at 100% utilization in that spot, my guess would be that either nVidia has some work to do on their driver because it's not working well with Beams new mirrors, or it might be time to run BeamNG's clear cache option, cause somethin' be borked.

6:00 In normal semi-truck trailers normally if you press the trailer brake knob the locking pin are supposed to go back to lock position. (Only if the lock pins are pneumatic and not manual with a rod going each sides)
It says unstable as in potential crashing, unintended issues with the game may occur, and stuttering may be more prevalent. It is usable, but you do have to keep that in mind when using it a wide variety of issues may occur. It has a lot of potential, as you saw it doubled the performance. But it needs time to cook by the devs to be stable.
i think it's cool how the semi trailers literally have a grab n' go function now, before, in 0.30 you had to hit L just to hook up, now in 0.31 you just back up, automatically attach, and set off

The gear box has a splitter mode with L2 and H2 but it doesnt do much😂

Also the T600 livery is based off of the truck from Terminator 2 but yet no tow trucks
Not to mention the transmission isn’t set up realistically at all. It’s just got a gear splitter not a range selector .

They've also given a 5 speed auto and 10 speed high/low box also.... personally I'd love to see the option of a semi auto or Clutched automatic
I'd like an Eaton style 10 speed with a range selector instead of a splitter. Would also be cool to have an 18 speed and 13 speed.

@@MuYe You're correct that the API is the root of the problem, but this is because DX11 has significantly higher CPU overhead for draw call scheduling than Vulkan does, and nVidia's DX11 driver also has higher CPU overhead due to the driver creating an additional software layer between the CPU and GPU in order to multithread DX11 draw call scheduling.
Basically the easiest way to tell if you're CPU bottlenecked is to look at your GPU utilization. Any time your GPU is not at 99-100% utilization, that indicates that the CPU is not feeding the GPU new frame data fast enough.
With my 6800 XT on 4K maxed everything in Beam in the same spot on West Coast, I'm sitting at around 70-80% GPU utilization, so I'd expect the 4090 to have even lower utilization in that spot.
But if your GPU is actually at 100% utilization in that spot, my guess would be that either nVidia has some work to do on their driver because it's not working well with Beams new mirrors, or it might be time to run BeamNG's clear cache option, cause somethin' be borked.

It says unstable as in potential crashing, unintended issues with the game may occur, and stuttering may be more prevalent.
It is usable, but you do have to keep that in mind when using it a wide variety of issues may occur.
It has a lot of potential, as you saw it doubled the performance. But it needs time to cook by the devs to be stable.
i think it's cool how the semi trailers literally have a grab n' go function now, before, in 0.30 you had to hit L just to hook up, now in 0.31 you just back up, automatically attach, and set off
